100 Days in South East Asia is the first instalment of the ten-part series, ''The Tales of a Thousand Adventures''. Each book tells the story of the 100-day journey in that part of the world.Travelling to South East Asia was a very spontaneous trip, made with very little planning. Departing England, the first brief stop was in Dubai, before carrying onto Thailand. In Bangkok, I met some friend, and we started our tour. We travelled across Thailand, navigated the Mekong River into Laos, then onward to Vietnam. We explored the country while making way down into Cambodia, then back to Thailand completing the loop.With such little preparation, we left most of the planning to the road ahead of us. As my first backpacking trip, I had no idea what to expect, and there was no way I could have imagined the adventure that lay before me.

"Gopal Urer Gan" :: Bengali Songs/Poems of Gopal Urer, edited and compiled by Uday Bhattacharyya.উনবিংশ শতাব্দীর মাঝামাঝি সময় "গোপাল উড়ের গান", বাংলা দেশে খুবই জনপ্রিয় হয়েছিল। গোপাল জাতিতে উড়ে (উড়িয়া) এবং কোন প্রথাগত শিক্ষা ছাড়াই নিজের অধ্যবসায় বাংলা ভাষা শিখে বাংলা গান/টপ্পা রচনা করেছিলেন। গানগুলি মূলত যাত্রপালার জন্য লেখা। গোপাল নিজে যাত্রপালায় অভিনয় করতেন এবং একটি যাত্রা দল চালাতেন। গোপাল কতখানি জনপ্রিয় ছিলেন তার একটি ধারণা পাওয়া যায় বঙ্কিমচন্দ্র চট্টোপাধ্যায়ের ''বিষবৃক্ষ'' উপন্যাসে। সেখানে গোপালের কথা উল্লেখ আছে। অন্তপুরবাসী নারীরাও তার গান সম্পর্কে অবগত ছিলো, তার গান ভালবাসতো।

"লালন ফকিরের গান"। মোট ২১৮ টি গান নিয়ে এটি শুধু মাত্র লালনের গানের সংকলন নয় হয়ে উঠেছে এক অসামান্য দলিল। এই গ্রন্থে শুধু লালনের গানই নয় সঙ্গে শব্দার্থ এবং ভিন্ন ভিন্ন গ্রন্থে লালনের গানের যে কথান্তর আছে তাও তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা করা হয়েছে। লালন (জন্ম ১৭৭৪- মৃত্যু অক্টোবর ১৭, ১৮৯০) বহুমুখী প্রতিভার অধিকারী একজন বাঙালী যিনি ফকির লালন, লালন সাঁই, লালন শাহ, মহাত্মা লালন ইত্যাদি নামেও পরিচিত। তিনি একাধারে একজন আধ্যাত্মিক বাউল সাধক, মানবতাবাদী, সমাজ সংস্কারক, দার্শনিক, অসংখ্য অসাধারণ গানের গীতিকার, সুরকার ও গায়ক ছিলেন। লালনকে বাউল গানের একজন অগ্রদূত হিসেবে বিবেচনা করা হয়। তার গানের মাধ্যমেই ঊনিশ শতকে বাউল গান বেশ জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করে। তাকে ''বাউল সম্রাট'' হিসেবেও আখ্যায়িত করা হয়ে থাকে। লালন ছিলেন একজন মানবতাবাদী যিনি ধর্ম, বর্ন, গোত্রসহ সকল প্রকার জাতিগত বিভেদ থেকে সরে এসে মানবতাকে সর্বোচ্চ স্থান দিয়েছিলেন। অসাম্প্রদায়িক এই মনোভাব থেকেই তিনি তার গানসমূহ রচনা করেন। তার গান ও দর্শন যুগে যুগে প্রভাবিত করেছে রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর, কাজী নজরুলের মত বহু খ্যাতনামা কবি, সাহিত্যিক, দার্শনিক, বুদ্ধিজীবিসহ অসংখ্য মানুষকে। তার গানগুলো মূলত বাউল গান হলেও বাউল সম্প্রদায় ছাড়াও যুগে যুগে বহু সঙ্গীতশিল্পীর কন্ঠে লালনের এই গানসমূহ উচ্চারিত হয়েছে। গান্ধীরও ২৫ বছর আগে, ভারত উপমহাদেশে সর্বপ্রথম, তাকে ''মহাত্মা'' উপাধি দেয়া হয়েছিল।

Da quando abbiamo conosciuto diversi anni fa l'esistenza dell'unico libro completo scritto nel corso della vita del Maestro Jigoro Kano, ci siamo sempre chiesti perché non fosse mai stato tradotto in lingue diverse dal giapponese. Un'opera di tale portata così importante, deve essere mostrata a tutti senza riserve. Il lavoro di Jigoro Kano è della massima importanza per comprendere sia l'evoluzione del Ju Jutsu e le radici del Judo Kodokan, sia lo sviluppo del Budo tanto in Giappone quanto in Occidente. Molto è stato scritto sul pensiero di Kano sopra i suoi ideali, sul suo concetto di arti marziali e dello sport.
