Camille Saint-Saëns schrieb sein Weihnachtsoratorium (Oratorio de Noël)in nur 12 Tagen. In seiner ersten Fassung wurde das Werk an Weihnachten 1858 in der PariserMadeleine raufgeführt. Gedruckt lagen die Vokalpartien und der Klavierauszug 1863 vor. Nochbevor die vollständige Partitur im Druck erschien, nahm Saint-Saëns allerdings einigeÄnderungen im Manuskript vor, was zu Widersprüchen, Fehlern und Auslassungen zwischen deneinzelnen Lesarten führte.Um erstmals den von Saint-Saëns intendierten Notentext möglichst genau darzustellen, wurde fürdie nun erschienene Urtextausgabe des Weihnachtsoratoriums neben den frühen Drucken auchdas Partiturautograph herangezogen.

In nur zwei Wochen schrieb der von Zeitgenossen als "Universalist"bezeichnete Camille Saint-Saëns dieses Werk nieder. 1868 erlebte es eine nur mäßig erfolgreicheUraufführung, doch heute ist es aus dem Konzertsaal nicht mehr wegzudenken und gehört zumStandardrepertoire vieler Pianisten.

Die Harmoniemesse (1802) ist gelegentlich als "die schönste Messeneben Beethovens Missa solemnis" bezeichnet worden. Haydn schrieb sie als 70jähriger auf demHöhepunkt seines Ruhmes. Sie entstand nach den beiden Alterswerken "Die Schöpfung" (1799)und "Die Jahreszeiten" (1802). Noch überzeugender als in früheren Meßvertonungen glückteHaydn in der Harmoniemesse eine kunstvolle Verbindung von symphonischem und oratorischemStil.Der vorliegende Klavierauszug wurde nach dem Autograph der Partitur erstellt. Allzuschematische Ergänzungen der von Haydn sparsam gesetzten Phrasierungsbögen, wie sie sichin manchen älteren Editionen finden, wurden in dieser Neuausgabe vermieden. Gegenüberbestehenden Ausgaben zeichnet sich der Klavierauszug durch übersichtliches Seitenlayout mitgünstigen Wendestellen aus.

Die vorliegende Ausgabe der drei Liederzyklen "Die schöne Müllerin","Winterreise" und "Schwanengesang" von Franz Schubert bietet das Ergebnis quellenkritischerForschung in Verbindung mit der Erfahrung internationaler Konzertpraxis.

9 Partsongs for SATB & Pianoforte by Haydn. In 1796 Haydn began a series of vocal pieces which later became known as Mehrstimmige Gesänge. There are nine quartets and four terzets in the set. The German texts were selected by the composer from a collection of poems entitled Lyrische Blumenlese, which had been collected by C.W. Ramler (1725 - 98), a slightly older contemporary of Haydn's.Neun Vierstimmige Gesänge für gemischten Chor und Klavier von Joseph Haydn. 1796 begann Haydn die Komposition einer Reihe von Vokalstücken, die später als Mehrstimmige Gesänge bekannt wurden. Heroes Among Us by Gary Fagan is an original overture-style work for string orchestra that was inspired by the many people who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure many school children who could not go to school received at least two hot meals each day throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. School bus drivers and cafeteria workers put in long hours to prepare meals and deliver them to students who otherwise may have gone hungry during the week. While teachers, nurses, doctors, etc. received accolades during the months when schools were out of session, many adults stepped in to take care of other necessities to ensure the well-being of the students they served.
