Final Essay in New York is a drama set in a Drama' School in New York City. As a matter of fact a class of students must hold a final essa yat the end of their theater's courses. They propose to the director to represent the musical "West Side Story". But Papa John Brook, the director, wants to prove to his students, who don't believe history is important for an actor to be. Books come from books and stories from stories, he explains. So as a final essay he writes a theatrical script on which he tells of two Italian rival families in Little Verona, a suburb in New York City. So he writes a Final Essay entitled to show them the importance of past. The history includes the contrasted love between Lavinia Bandello and Mariotto Da Porto whose families contend the control of certain illegal business in Little Verona. Step by step the student will start loving the new play and the director will get the result to demonstrate the importance of the past. The drama will also show that love is the most important thing in the world.
