Divine Destiny

The Imperial Japanese Navy deployed almost all of its combat power to challenge the Battle of Leyte Gulf. This was an operation where Japan's last carrier task force was used as a decoy to attack the American military's transport units. In this naval battle, Japan lost almost all of its main warships. As a result, the Japanese military leadership shifted towards defending the homeland. The American forces, which defeated the Japanese fleet, began their campaign to capture Iwo Jima as a relay point for attacks on the Japanese mainland. However, when the U.S. Marine Corps began its landing, the supporting and transport ships escorted by the U.S. Fifth Fleet came under attack. The assailants were the Japanese Combined Fleet, comprising ships that the Americans believed they had sunk.
This work imagines a scenario where Japan did not lose to the American forces, where an alternative Japan from another world comes to the rescue of Japan on the brink of defeat, presenting a fictional war chronicle. Part I is about the Battle of Iwo Jima.
