Deesider's Diary

Om Deesider's Diary

Robert Davidson is an octogenarian and although born in Aberdeen, he has lived in Banchory, on Royal Deeside for the past 45 years. He started writing his ' Comments on Political, Economic & Social Events' as a hobby in the 1980's, endeavouring to capture a variety of interesting events which he thought would be of general interest to many, in particular those living in the Banchory area. He approached the editor of the local weekly 'Deeside Piper Newspaper' and asked if he would consider publishing them. Following their acceptance, the earlier ones were entitled 'This and That' in 1993. It was then decided some time later to re-title the column 'Deesider'. He continued to submit these until 1998.
