De Tristibus Franciae, Libri Qvatvor

This is a collection of four Latin elegies written by the French poet Léon Cailhava in the 17th century, lamenting the political and social problems of his time. The poems are characterized by their melancholy tone and use of classical allusions and meter. The current edition includes a critical introduction and notes by an unknown editor, and is based on a manuscript from the Library of Lyon.
