Terrorism: International Case Law Law Reporter is the only print reporter of terrorism-related cases from jurisdictions worldwide. Volume 1 of this year's edition charts the course of various countries' treatment of terrorist suspects. The cases in this volume, when read together, present a wide-ranging comparison of how different jurisdictions balance security interests against the need to provide constitutional and treaty-based protections to criminaldefendants. One example is the Velasco case, which appears in English translation only in this edition of Terrorism: International Case Law Reporter and which considers the liability of a state officers when they commit acts of terrorism when exercising their official duties.

Volume Two of this year's edition covers two topics: the financial aspects of terrorism and regional develoments related to powerful terrorist groups. Professor Newton's selection of cases and headnotes highlight the ways in which domestic courts and governments are implementing (or refusing to implement) interntional regulations onassets connected to terrorist groups. A key example of this jurisprudence is the Kadi opinion, included herein, in which the European Court of Justice invalidated an EU regulation authorizing the seizure of assets possibly connected to terrorism.
