Benjamin Disraeli (1804-1881), was a British Prime Minister, parliamentarian, Conservative statesman and writer. He invented a new genre of writing - the political novel, of which Sybil and Vivian Grey are perhaps the best-known today. His novels are romantic and political in nature. His books give a great deal of political insight, such as describing the waning of the Whigs and the Tories and the early beginnings of the Conservative party.
