Being Grace

Orphaned by the death of her parents when she was four years old, Grace was raised by her maternal grandparents, on a small farm. She left school as a young teenager to look after them when they became ill, and until their passing. When her cousin, Meredith, and husband, Carl, offered her room and board in exchange for housekeeping duties and looking after their two children while they went out to work, she accepted. She enjoyed her job and being part of the family, until the day Carl took advantage of this now beautiful, but naïve young woman. Grace knew she had to get away, but when she left on a bus the next day to seek employment she had no idea where she'd end up.
This is an historical novel about survival, growth, and finding family and true love.
