Pamela married into the Whitaker family in 1973 to find that her father in law, James Allen Whitaker II, had been conducting extensive research on the family using the common methodology of the time; letters, phone calls and personal visits. While his collection of data was extensive, it failed to connect the family to its European roots. After his death in 2006, Pamela began researching where he left off. With the help of computers, the internet and visits to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, she made the connections that trace the family back to its origins in Scotland, England and to the Plantagenet line.
