A Puerto Rican chef/police officer, called Manuel, from Chelsea, MA. has an accident that puts him in a hospital with a coma for 25 years. Due to advances in medical technology, Manuel survives and wakes up to a strange world order. Befriending a green astronaut and an artificial-intelligent robot dog, he travels to explore this new world and re-establish his relationships with his family and fiancée. To put it in Manuel's words: "Comatose for a quarter of a century at Mass General, the world moved on without me. It continues to change, for better and for worse, but mostly for the worse. I woke up to see the results of limited nuclear wars, rapid and dramatic ecological changes due to global warming, and world-wide political upheavals that dramatically increased the number of refugees seeking asylum. All these resulted in a global alteration of social, economic, and political structures."
