Dr. Justo L. Mary Hinson has fond memories of learning the Bible stories with her mother and siblings before she went to bed at night and knows that each person's introduction to the Bible can start in a similar way. For some it is in childhood and for others as teenagers. Still others come to experience the Bible as adults. For anyone in his or her beginning stages, Mary has put together an exciting compilation of the amazing Bible heroes and their stories. With just the right amount of context she introduces each story and then lets readers know where they can find the rest in the pages of God's Holy Word. People of all ages will really find this book helpful as they make their first foray into the world of Hebrew and Christian history. They will meet people like Abraham, Moses and Joshua, learn about the pinnacles and pitfalls of the Israelite people, then move on into the gospels. There they will meet the most important person of all: their Savior Jesus Christ. They will read about his travels, his mission and his miracles, which will make them see how he changed the world and how he can change their lives. Join Mary Hinson on a journey into the beautiful new world of God's love message to all his children on earth.
The subject of the Kingdom of God is an exhaustive study on which multitudes of books and syllabi have been and will be written, with many only scratching the surface of this topic's depth. I received the revelation contained in this book as I studied the kingdom parables and ministered these truths in my church. What I am about to pen didn't come from today's popular teaching on eschatology (the study of end-time events), what I learned in Sunday school as a child, or even what is being taught by many of today's so-called end-time Bible prophecy teachers. It has come from studying these parables in the Greek language, as well as applying them through present-day truth. Some will reject the teaching in this book because of their own misconception with one word: "kingdom." Those who know me know that I have never shied away from controversial subjects just because the religious world doesn't understand or agree with them. As an Apostle/Pastor, I daily see the condition of the church, where we are, and more importantly, where we need to go! People spend millions of dollars each year on the newest Bible prophecy books, as well as subscribing to end-time gurus' literature predicting the next flood, earthquake, disaster, or even worse, some mathematical or Biblical equation as to the Lord's return. More importantly than the hour of His return (which, by the way, Jesus Himself doesn't know), the church should be taught the meaning of Jesus' words "...Occupy till I come" (Luke 19:13). Many of God's people have grown "weary" (Galatians 6:9); some have "shipwrecked their faith" (I Timothy 1:19); their "love has waxed cold" (Matthews 24:12); or even worse, "departed from the faith" (I Timothy 4:1). Our precious brothers and sisters need to be taught how to live victorious in the HERE AND NOW. They need the great stories of the Bible brought to where they live TODAY. You are about to be challenged in your religious mindsets, changed more into His image as these truths come alive and finally blessed beyond measure. Dr Don D Hughes Apostolic Leader REV House, Inc
The subject of money has been and probably will always be one of the most controversial and misunderstood subjects in the Body of Christ. Many of today's ministers are fearful of speaking on this subject, receiving tithes and offerings, or challenging their people in building programs, missions or outreach campaigns involving money. Why? First, I believe it has been passed down through decades of wrong teaching, spawned by the traditions of unspiritual men, secondly, because of the misuse and abuse of a few ministers over the past few years, and thirdly, because I believe that many ministers don't truly "study to shew thyself approved..." as the Bible instructs (See 2 Timothy 2:15). As a minister of three plus decades (at the writing of this book), I have never been one to shy away from controversial subjects just because individuals or groups of individuals have gotten off course or abused the truth. Religion is notorious for mocking what they don't understand. The Bible is not silent concerning the subject of money. More than 20% of what Jesus spoke about during His earthly ministry dealt with money. In the gospels alone, (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) one out of every six verses deal with finances. Since the Bible IS NOT silent on this subject, then I refuse to bow down to the status-quo of today's religious, seeker friendly, lukewarm, don't rock the boat, stay away from controversial subjects, must be politically correct Christians. My prayer is for you the reader; first, that you will be anointed to hear the truth revealed in this book and second, that the truth you know and understand will set you free. Religious clutter and mindsets, misconceptions (things that keep us from conceiving) fallacies and delusions are coming to the light revealed in God's Word and losing their hold on your life. Every false teaching and man-made doctrine that has hindered your increase will be destroyed as you go further into this manuscript. We are about to embark on a journey where religious folks have dared to tread. HIS by choice, Dr. Don D Hughes
"Bible Dramas Children Love" is just that! These plays have already been acted out by youth and a few adults in front of thousands of children! A.K.T.A.A. means 'Already Kid Tested and Approved!' These drama plays have been acted out over years of ministry and some of them have even been easily adapted in foreign missionary work in other countries and languages! The children loved these plays! You will find in these pages a refreshing reverence for God's Word! A scientist and his family in Africa find evidence for Creation, and use their archeology skills to find evidence of the flood of Noah. Then children learn valuable life lessons straight from the great heroes of the Old and New Testament with the dramatic conclusion of God's Mighty Angels! Children these days need true heroes, and God's Word is full of them! You have in your hands an essential tool of children's ministry! Ideas are given concerning getting your ministry team together, getting an audience, props and scene preparation, and how others got through a few tough spots in acting these plays out. Questions are given to further explain God's word and lead children to Christ. The use of a narrator carries these drama plays as a way of teaching the Holy Bible to many children especially 5-14 years of age. This is the life work of author and youth pastor Stan Appling, who for over twenty years has been working at a summer program for children, and also in mission work. His wife Marina also writes and helps with keeping the mission going, as well as with their young son.

The Thessalonican letters tell us the Church had struggled from persecution by both the Jews and Roman authorities. Because of their faith and inspired missionary zeal, the Church had spiritually prospered. Their witness to Christ was a "Model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia" (Greece) (I Thess. 1:6-10). As with all Churches in every age, there were "false teachers" who sought to benefit by spreading untruth. Gnosticism may have been part of the problem, and Paul addressed this, along with their concerns that Jesus had come and the resurrection had already taken place. He assured them this was not the case and gave them the sequence of Christ's return and the resurrection in I Thessalonians 4:13-18. He also wrote in regard to those who refused to work, and were essentially living off the Church. In many ways these letters reflect some of the same issues the Church is facing today. This brief little book is meant to be informative on both the theology and history of the Church in Thessaly, as well as a devotional commentary. Blessings on all who peruse these pages. In 2006 Stephen began his study of the character and will of God. Through his studies Stephen discovered that there are things about God that mainstream Christianity had either forgotten, or had not known. These truths are right before the eyes of everyone in the Bible yet, had been overlooked. But, to President Reagan they were commonplace. Ronald Reagan operated under this empowerment. Through Reagan, God had blessed America! The world looks for another Ronald Reagan yet God has made a way for many to walk in the power and ability demonstrated by his life. Politicians today would be well suited to glean from this one life, empowered by God. America would prosper. Stephen, and his wife Rhonda reside in Texas, where he teaches on several radio stations. The name of his weekly broadcast is Faith and Victory.

"Dad, tell us the story about... Our kids don't remember it." So I started writing down the stories about the incidents of my life that have impacted me, made a difference - that have value: A legacy, not of goods or money, but of influence and of principles for life that have transferable value, the stuff that matters. Some of you reading these random, short stories are not directly related; some of you will have heard a few of them in one form or other - or are the subject of them. I make no apology. Some of you were there when they happened and some of you never knew it mattered to me. I want all you kids to know that great moments and valued experiences don't come from the complexities of life and sophisticated education, but from simple truths and day to day experiences - the ah-ha's of life. Or as your mother would say, the holy moments: the insightful times in our lives when we should say, Selah, that Hebrew word we find in the Bible, that means stop and pause and think on these things you have just read. This book is about the Selah moments in my life plus a few other incidents, stories and fun times - stuff that matters. James G. Eating is a common part of our lives. Many of us do not realize that we can glorify God's name every time we eat. The dietary commandments on clean and unclean animals in Leviticus 11 give us such an opportunity. Some have said that Jesus, Peter, and Paul did away with these commandments. This book will help you understand how Jesus, Peter, and even Paul upheld this vital teaching from God's word. Paul instructs us in II Corinthians 6:17 to touch no unclean thing. Peter also directs us to the dietary laws in his first letter. You will discover the spiritual significance of the dietary laws. You will learn how obedience to them will draw you closer to your Savior and increase the fire of the Holy Spirit in your life! Have you ever thought how difficult it seems to reconcile the call to deny self and Christ's promise to give us abundant life? Too many Christian servants focus on the denial of self, giving all to serve Christ. Soon there are spent and ministry becomes laborious. Hardy tries to find the balance between these two concepts in order to find joy in ministry. With more than 30 years in ministry, Exter Hardy has served with a variety of Christian servants. He combines this experience with his counseling experience to help Christians find joy in serving Christ. Hardy is a full-time pastor and single parent of four children, two of whom are deaf, so he finds himself regularly in the servant role.

In this book, Ken Peery tells the amazing story of the coming of faith and civilization to West Texas and San Angelo. From the earliest of planting of the Gospel by early Spanish explorers in southwest America, the city came into being because of the opening of Fort Concho by the Army. Agriculture, ranching, the buffalo and finally the striking of oil all combined to grow the city. Today the Spirit flourishes in the Queen City of West Texas. The reader will be excited to trace the growth as these chapters unfold the story. Four men walk across North America from sea to sea, surviving on prickly pears, pecans and roots. My spiritual journey officially began in 2004. Earlier in my life, when I was in my late twenties, I had an epiphany. God showed up early one Sunday morning, which changed my life. I wanted to live right and (try) to do all the right things. I started going to church and searching for meaning in my life. This experience did not last that long. There was no one to counsel, mentor, or share in this revelation with me. This experience reminds me of Luke 19: 10-For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. On Saturday April 28, 2004, I had an epiphany with the God. I had prayed all-day and all night for God to come into my life and change my situation. It was around midnight when God Himself came into my bedroom, (early Sunday morning). The room was filled with his Glory. I tried with everything within me to open my eyes, but was unable to. His presence was as real as the nose on my face. He took me on a journey to see which direction I was headed. If I would have died that night, God revealed to me that I would have gone to hell. He asked me to choose; whether to serve Him or the devil, and I said, YES to His will and His way(s). I have come to realize that God is always working in our lives. He has been molding and shaping me in His image since I was born. (Isaiah 64:8- Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the Potter; we are the work of Your hand.

Ministers of the Gospel's zeal for the work of God have instantly picked up after eating the Holy Communion. The question is 'why?' This book explains the ingredients found in the Holy Communion and why this sacred meal is accompanied by extraordinary success stories. No doubt, Holy Communion is a cure for all kinds of problems. Try it!

Many impressive accolades are attributed to King Solomon. Exalted to a place of unparalleled peer, Solomon was a contributing author of Scripture, builder of the Temple in Jerusalem, ruler during the Golden Age in Israel, and he is also described as the wisest person to ever live. Wealth, honor, and fame were his, and no earthly desire was unattainable as he lived in luxury. In that reality, a downward spiral took place in the mind, heart, and life of this king, and his heart took a devastating turn from devoted to distracted, and finally divided. From the pinnacle to the pit, Solomon's steps are traced in this in-depth Bible study. Points of application are plentiful to prevent a similar fall from occurring in the life of the reader. The goal of this study is to understand how Scripture characterizes a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Be prepared to be challenged not only in your current definition of worship, but also in your understanding of idolatry. Join Jennifer Brooks on this voyage through Scripture that looks beyond what eyes see and focuses on the plans, priorities, purposes, and motives of the heart. Jennifer Brooks is founder of Abundance In Him Ministries. She also authored the Bible studies Embracing An Aching Heart: Addressing The Horrors Of Human Trafficking and Stand In Awe. Truths of Scripture are communicated with passion and sincerity as Jennifer teaches from a heart in love with Jesus and a firsthand perspective of His life changing power. With an unswerving conviction that the Word of God is living and active, personal application is emphasized in her teachings. She is married to her best friend, Joe, and together they have three children. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and she enjoys working as a pediatric nurse.
When the heart is overwhelmed with sorrow, flooded by the issues of life, are you prepared? Being prepared allows you to escape a mighty stronghold. According to the wisdom of King Solomon, "By the sorrows of the heart, the spirit is broken" (Proverbs 15:13). When grief clenches the heart, it drains the body. The countenance becomes low and leaves one feeling despondent, dispirited and alone. Because the body and the mind are so fitly joined, the body responds to the troubled mind. As a result, it slowly weakens under the grief. Proverbs 18:14 says, "The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?" In such a season the heart must receive and the ear must seek knowledge. "Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul, O my God, I trust in thee: Turn thee unto me, and have mercy up on me, for I am desolate and afflicted" (Psalm 25:12,16 KJV). Kneeling, be it in spirit or on bending knees, humbles you before the Lord. The Lord honors the humble, according to His Word, He will lift you up. In order to be lifted, or to have fellowship with God, we must hear. Our spiritual ear must be trained to hear the voice of God even in our brokenness. Brokenness has a tsunami effect on the human body. It tosses and turns your life, often using the pathway of the mind to cause great disturbances, causing interruption to an otherwise settled and peaceful condition. When life hits like a tsunami, listen. Hear what the Spirit says to your heart. From this book you receive the word of knowledge as the Holy Spirit inspires it. You will come to know to whom you should listen, what to listen for, and how to apply the knowledge instilled within you .
This book reveals what it means to have a belief system. Even though you may not remember the sermon, or message or lecture, something subconsciously settles into our psyche to stimulate reflection, the 'aha' moment or just a smile. The smile however should not be overlooked. It unites our past with the events of the present and the synthesis symbolizes that there is now a conscious realization that life has meaning. So 'holding on to the broken pieces' takes us to shore. What we used to struggle with is still a focus of some struggle, but we can see clearer now. This book shows that in the midst of the storms of life, we can still find ways to express ourselves and respond with humor. Humor gives us the psychic space and presence of mind to retreat and take stock, but always to go forward, to carry on with renewed hope. Laughter cures many ills both physical and spiritual. God laughs, sometimes at us, but I believe mostly with us. The Supreme Being is 'a-listening all night long' and therefore sometimes help comes from the least suspected places and persons: like the boy who was marginalized because he could not swim or even float, yet became the one who saved two of his friends from drowning! We become motivated to help by stories that bring insight and fresh vision to the sufferer; by the ability to confront our mortality with irony and jest, as in the humorous "Tombstones" mentioned, and the suggested themes for guidance and survival that emanate therefrom. I present much of the book in conversational style, with some Caribbean slangs, to stimulate your own reflections, smiles or laughter. Enjoy it nuh!

The foundation of the Contemporary Church is unstable; and the State of our Union is tenuous at best. It is time to Stand Up! Speak Up! Stiffen Up! Look Up! And watch the Glory of God revealed through Obedience to heed the call to Personal Evangelism. Vicki Renee Bryant describes herself as a Reworked, Redirected and Reborn daughter of the King of Kings. With a past she is not proud of, she could hide in shame. Instead, she uses that past to show the power of Jesus Christ to Transform Hearts and Reform Futures. On February 14, 1996, Bryant finally stopped fighting the call Christ had put on her life before the foundations of the world were set. She gave her heart to serve Jesus and has committed her life to Teaching the Scriptures, Speaking His Truths and Writing as He Directs. Her first book, For Such a Time as This... is a Daily Devotional. Her second, About Face! is a Wake-up call to the Apathetic church; and her third, A Transforming Journey, is a Teaching Devotional. Vicki and her husband Dan are lifelong residents of Owosso, Michigan and are the proud grandparents to Tyler, Hailey and Caleb.
