The verse numbers match the dates in this unique daily devotional of thanks and praise. The length of the devotional prayers are short enough to incorporate into even the busiest day and can benefit readers of many ages and varying levels of maturity in their walk with Christ. This book is an excellent tool for keeping the Christian heart full of thanks and praise each day of the year. Mary is married to Nick and they have three sons and three grandchildren. Mary worked in the profession of nursing all her life and is a former speaker for Christian Women's Clubs. She enjoys her retirement as an artist, writer, teacher of Children's Liturgy of the Word and spends time sewing quilts for family and friends. Mary earned a B.F.A. from Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan.

This is a book to prepare the heart for suffering and trial. My purpose is not to frighten, or to alarm, or to sensationalize, or be overly dramatic. I am definitely not predicting a timeframe for the trials that precede the second coming of Christ. I do feel that we could be in the last generation, and I've made some statements with that possibility in mind; but that's not the book's purpose. The overall thrust of this book is beneficial even in times of ease. The message is one the Church needs to embrace no matter what the external circumstances-whether Jesus is about to break through the clouds or not. The glory of the message is that, if we will begin to practice the instructions written by Peter some 2000 years ago, we will develop an internal and unquenchable fire of love for God and His Church. And as that fire of love grows in our hearts, we will not be surprised by the fire kindled against us as we come to the end of the age. Tom and his wife, Debbie, currently live in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Prior to moving to KC, Tom served more than 25 years as a pastor in the United Methodist Church in the Panhandle and South Plains of Texas. In 2002, he and Debbie joined the staff of the International House of Prayer of Kansas City. While there, Debbie was part of the healing room and pre-natal prayer ministries. Tom directed and taught in the Biblical Studies Program of The International House of Prayer University. They both hold Bachelor's Degrees from Texas Tech University. In addition, Tom holds a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

PSALMS 23 A Psalm of David The Lord is my Shepherd (to feed, guide, and shield me). I shall not lack. 2. He makes me to lie down in (fresh, tender) green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters. (Rev. 7:17) 3. He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness (uprightness and right standing with Him-not for my earning it, but) for His name's sake. 4. Yes, though I walk through the (deep, sunless) valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod (to protect) and Your Staff (to guide), they comfort me. 5. You prepare a table before me in the presence of enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my (brimming) cup runs over. 6. Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord (and His presence) shall be my dwelling place.

Always with a heart to help people, Matt worked with an elite team of doctors and medics to save lives in the Gulf War. Now, as an evangelist with a burning desire to help his fellow man, he wrote this book with the specific intention of helping you. Perhaps as never before in the Church's history is there a need to return to the message of repentance of sin, obedience to the Word of God and separation from the world. Sadly, these things are seldom mentioned in today's churches. They have been replaced with a new and erroneous view of God's Grace and minimize the effects of sin on the life of the believer and its eternal consequences. As a result multiple thousands have been lulled into a false sense of security. One Bible teacher went so far as to say "that our obedience to God's Word has nothing to do with our eternal destiny." But does the Bible really teach that? WHAT ABOUT OUR SIN? ARE ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES INVOLVED HERE? DOES OUR OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD REALLY MATTER? D. Martin Lloyd Jones in his expository on the "Sermon on the Mount" wrote: "There is a defective sense of sin and a defective doctrine of sin in the church today. There is not the real, deep conviction of sin as was once the case....that conversion must be preceded by conviction, a real sense of sin must come before there can be the true joy of salvation. That is the whole essence of the gospel" (D. Martin Lloyd Jones - Studies in the Sermon on the Mount - Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Company). During this discussion I will present a series of arguments, from the Word of God, that I believe will show us that our sins as well as obedience to God's Word does have very serious and potentially eternal consequences. DAVID CASSADY HAS SPENT THE PAST TWENTY YEARS ON THE FRONT LINES LEARNING, WITNESSING KEY ISSUES FACING THE CHURCH. AS A THE LORD HAS MOVED, HE HAS BEEN BLESSED WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP PEOPLE STRUGGLING WITH A VARIETY OF SPIRITUAL ISSUES.

  • av Bill Wood
    199,-

As America began to expand westward, a group of itinerant preachers rode across the plains and mountains to spread the Christian faith. They endured heat and cold, rain and drought, despair and loneliness to fulfill their calling They traveled from town to farm to stage-stop to anywhere people had settled, preaching the Gospel. These saddlebag-preachers spoke to anyone who would listen. They were rugged individuals who allowed neither rough terrain nor menacing weather to sway them from their appointed areas of service. These unsung heroes of the West helped bring true civilization to the American frontier. There would be little or no reward beyond the spiritual. This book is a fictionalized story of three such country preachers on the frontier of Texas and the problems they faced bringing the message of Christ to wilderness areas. Bill Wood was born and raised in a small town in Texas. Since 1975, he has pastored ten country churches in either Texas, Louisiana, or California or taught in a small Christian school... or both at the same time. When not preaching or studying or writing, Bro. Bill enjoys visiting antique stores, festivals, and historical places. He's been known to pick and grin some in church and is partial to anything having to do with the Old West (movies, artwork, decor, clothes, rodeos). Dr. Wood has been described by friends as "an old-fashioned, Southern gentleman with just a touch of John Wayne". In May of 2012, he became the pastor at Central Baptist Church in Stamford, Texas. A graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and Baptist Christian University in Shreveport, Louisiana, this is Bill's second book to be published through Xulon Press... the first being a fictional account of the birth of Jesus entitled "And Nothing's Been the Same Since".

  • - The Journey Book 2
    av Annette Perkins
    207,-

Lady Anne Blackburn is on a journey...a journey to relearn how to trust and love again after being traumatized by the betrayal of her own family. Though Lady Anne wishes nothing more than to be rid of her odious husband, her family is threatened when someone tries to take their children away. Once again, Anne is thrown into a fight against others and struggles with her own faith. Through the help of her friends, Anne needs to learn how to live without panic, anger or fear in her personal journey to be closer to God. This book, the second in the Dearest Catherine series depicts the journey of healing that many travel after being traumatized. The author wrote Dearest Catherine after a traumatic experience in her life. The path that she walked over the course of several years has been written through her character Anne. Dr. Annette Perkins has been married for over thirty years to her husband, Ron. They have two sons and five grandchildren. She lived near the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York before moving to Michigan, where she currently resides. Annette's books are both riveting and thought provoking. Although the time period is different from ours, the struggles with pain and disillusionment are topics we all relate to. They brought me healing and comfort while going through my own tough times. Her stories remind me that God is good and though we may go through trials and sometimes question Him, He patiently waits for us to come around. I think that these books are bestsellers and I eagerly look forward to the next one! Jean Roys 12-step Recovery Facilitator Bachelor Degree in Christian Counseling

Is Anger Controlling You? Or, Are You Controlling It? Who's in the driver's seat? If you are allowing anger to be behind the wheel, you are headed for a crash! Every experienced driver and passenger of a vehicle knows that the person driving has full control of the vehicle. If you are a reckless driver, the probability of an accident is great! If you are perfectly poised, agile, and alert while driving, not only will your probability of maintaining control be better, but also you will be in a better position to avoid the dangers of nearby reckless drivers. Anger the reckless driver... Anger can be as dangerous as a reckless driver behind the wheel if you allow it to control you. Just like bad driving can lead to awful tragedies that might harm the driver, the passenger, or an innocent bystander, uncontrolled anger can lead to a major collision in your life as well as in others. Being in full control helps you to be alert to your own combustible emotions as well as those of others. In doing so, we avoid crashes, clashes, and serious collisions brought on by anger. Anger the passenger... That is why anger should never be in the driver's seat. It should only be a passenger. A passenger is driven to a certain destination and then dropped off by the driver, who is in full control of the vehicle. Even when anger is necessary, it should ride only as a passenger going to an appropriate destination and then...let out! Always put yourself in the driver's seat with full control, while being poised and sober. Carry anger only for a limited amount of time. Then, let it go! This book will give you insight and a unique strategy of recognizing legitimate, illegitimate, and optional anger, as well as understanding their emotion's vulnerabilities so that you can remain in the driver's seat with full control.

The Lord has opened a season of increased manifestations of His Glory. In this season, He is doing amazing things and giving fresh new revelations of who He is and what He has planned for us. The Lord has issued a clear call for His disciples to move from glory to glory into the very image of our Lord Jesus! Are you ready for it? "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:18) James Durham: After serving as a pastor for more than 45 years, including 13 years as a pastor and church planter and almost 30 years as an active duty army Chaplain, James retired from the military at the rank of Colonel. Empowered for Heaven and Earth is an expositional outline of Paul's Epistle to the Romans. The title demonstrates the results of the imputed righteousness of God which results from trusting in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. When God puts his Righteousness in a person, it empowers them to enter heaven and to live victoriously over the world, and it is imputed the moment one repents and believes. James is currently serving as the Pastor of the Grandview Independent Baptist Church, in Kansas City, Missouri. He has served there for the past twelve Years. He was Minister of Education at Bannister Road Baptist Church for Three Years. He founded and pastored the New Sholar Avenue Baptist Church from 1980 until 1996. He graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts in Bible. He also graduated from Temple Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Old Testament Theology. James accepted Christ while serving in the Marine Corps in 1976. Six months later, after reading the Bible through and church involvement he surrendered to the call to preach the Gospel. He later married his high school sweet heart and they have been married for Thirty Six years. They have three daughters and seven grandchildren.

I Author Kirk J. Anistead am grateful that God gave me his Holy Spirit, to once again inspire people to know him better, and allow his holy truth to prevail. This was done through obedient submission; in which he was the first example unto us. God the Father, the son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. He duplicated himself, so we can understand how important it is to be under submission of authority. In attendance of daily church service, I also joined several different ministries. So I may learn more about him, thus gaining an intimate relationship with God, standing in righteousness, of his holy spirit. (Proverbs 24: 5-6), a wise man is strong: yea, a man of knowledge increases in strength. 6; for by wise counsel thou shall make thy war: and in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Wisdom makes people powerful because knowledge provides strength that goes beyond the physical. A group of wise people can achieve victory in whatever they do. The athlete who thinks- who assesses the situation and plans strategies-has an advantage over a physically stronger opponent. And wisdom, not muscle, is certainly why God has put people in charge of the animal kingdom, like when he first gave it to Adam. We exercise regularly and eat well to build our strength, but do we take equal pains to develop wisdom? Because wisdom is a vital part of strength, it pays to attain it. In any major decision we make concerning college, marriage, career, children etc., it is not a sign of weakness to ask for advice. Instead, it is foolish not to ask for it. Find good advisers before making any big decisions. You can gain wise consulting from your parents, pastor, reverends, ministers, or fellow church and family members, even your boss at work. They can help you expand your alternatives and evaluate your choices. This is what kept me a float all through the years. Although there had been times in life where I made mistakes, God forgave me, and surrounded me, with people of sound minds, with a spirit anointed in God's divine wisdom. I thank you Heavenly Father, for every person you put in my life, by this you have shown me the difference between your spirit and Satan's. Your divine wisdom is what gives me the advantage over any of the adversary tricks, that's placed in front of me. Blessing me with common sense to know that no matter what the circumstance may be Satan has already been judged by you Lord God Almighty and lost the war. That's why all praises are due to you Heavenly Father. As I shout Shabach!!! "Hallelujah to you Lord God the All-Powerful"!!!!!!! In Jesus Christ mighty name I say Amen!!!!

I have known Joe for many years and we have ministered together in the local church and in conferences in the developing world. I have been impressed with his speaking ability and now I am enamored with his writing acumen. Chapters 8 and 10 are worth the book. The book is a gift to believers everywhere. - Steven P. Troxel, M.Div. Founder - Shepherds' Support Former Senior Pastor Wayside Evangelical Free Church San Antonio, TX In these rich reflections, Joe Carroll helps us reconnect our hearts to God's heart. The insights and stories illustrate the gospel with a capital "G". The application of the Gospel, as Joe says, is that "following Christ involves carrying a cross and not a broom". The effort to continually clean up our lives with our own "broom" is exhausting. Applying the cross and the true Gospel that this book explores is liberating. -Mark S Lewis National Director of Field Integration. The Navigators "Because Your Heart Matters" speaks volumes of our deepest need, to know our own heart, and God's heart toward us. I recommend this book to all who are willing to peel back those protective layers we have covered our hearts with, and connect our heads with our hearts, perhaps for the first time in our lives. -Richard N. Goad, DPM Associate Professor Department of Surgery Scott and White Healthcare/Texas A&M College of Medicine "Because Your Heart Matters" is a look at something most of us avoid looking at, done in a positive and inspiring manner. A quick read, well worth your time. - Acie Johnson, Founder Biblical Leadership for Excellence

Born in Puerto Rico, in a town called Utuado. Between mountains, rivers and lakes I passed my youth. I admired the plants, the smell of flowers and the rich flavor of fruits and learned of nature since my childhood. I graduated in electronic communications at the Technological Institute of the capital, San Juan, Puerto Rico. I am a farmer with vast experience, beekeeper for over 25 years, musician, athlete and I have won various competitions in the athletics. I graduated as a Natural Health Consultant and I am a student of the Bible for many years. Currently I am dedicated to bringing the health message based on what is written in Genesis 1:11-13 and 3 John 2. It is painful to see so many people sick. In fact, my first wife died of cancer at the age of 39 and that's when I decided to do my specialty in cancer. Where neither conventional medicine nor natural remedies could save her life. As of today I have not lost a single cancer patient. I have traveled to many places in Puerto Rico and the United States, giving lectures and health seminars. This book is not only about cancer but other diseases. The results have been excellent. The programs are based on the most wonderful book that there is "The Bible." There are many other sources, but all take you to the same place, "God."

I was born and raised on a small Island off the East Coast of Newfoundland, Canada, known as Flat Island. Flat Island only had a population of approx. 80 people and fishing was the main means of making a living. There was a one room school there, with K.G. to grade 9, I only got as far as the 7th grade officially, and at the age of 12, due to the lack of qualified teachers in small isolated communities, I quit school and went fishing with my father . I fished for ten years before leaving the Island and going to a town on the mainland, where I eventually took a carpentry course in which God greatly blessed me, and led me to greater things in regards to a better living, even leading me to my own construction company, and later to several supervisor positions, in different types of construction including the job from which I retired, after over seventeen years service with the Provincial Government. It was while I was still working with the Provincial Government, that God gave me dreams and revelations starting in 1995, that hence came my calling, and the writing of this book. I was not called to preach or teach the word as a Pastor or Teacher, but to remind people and the Churches what they were doing wrong. I felt like Moses, when God called him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, and said, Lord, surely you don't want me to do this, I have very little education and I can't even Speak well, as quick as a wink a voice from within said, neither could Moses I knew then that this was the voice of God speaking to me, and I had to obey His call, and keep my promise to him, and was reminded that God don't call the qualified, but qualifies the called .

This Proverbs workbook will help parents teach their children the practical wisdom of God. The issues discussed - money, friends, diligence, response to aggression, pride, discipline, etc. - are relevant to our daily lives and will arise in your family sooner or later. These lessons can help lay a foundation of godly values and guidelines for your children. Our family used the workbook when our children were 8 and 10 years old. Older children and adults will find no problem in being challenged by the material because these issues are in the heart, not the mind. The workbook has been used in several churches, in many families, and also by a high school senior class in practical living. Recently updated for publication, the Proverbs workbook would be a great addition to home school curriculum and could also be used by adult small groups to explore God's wisdom in the book of Proverbs. Dick Hockett and his wife Betty live in San Jose, CA, where they attend a local church. They have two married children and six grandchildren. Dick is retired from high-tech industry in Silicon Valley and has taught Bible studies for many years in California and in the Midwest.

Sitting at my desk...now married with 3 very young children, working for a company that custom built fire trucks, I was trying to type a report "perfectly" as the inspector waited patiently in the hallway for the completion of it. It was a 5 or 6 part report on the newly built fire truck that literally "had - to - be - perfect" (it could not even have "corrected" mistakes). My hands shook and I was filled with anxiety. My whole inner body, including my mind, was tense...I was so tense I could feel pressure in my head. It is truly hard to explain. I also had a very difficult time remembering. On many occasions, my boss would call me into his office for further instruction. I would clutch my notebook and pen and write frantically, otherwise, I would get back to my desk and think... "now what did he just ask me to do?" At home, I couldn't fall into a deep sleep... my mind raced constantly. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not get any rest. I was also very phobic in public. For example, when I was shopping and if I was comparing prices (which was very hard to do because of my state of mind), I would panic and think, are people looking at me? Have I been standing here too long? I wasn't sure what was wrong with me. WAS I GOING CRAZY? I was so scared . . .

"If you will search within yourself, you will find that within you there is a hunger for the supernatural. Not only to witness it, but also to participate in its performance." How many times have you thought that there must be more to life? The work routines, the laundry baskets, filing taxes... We all feel a need to find fullness and meaning rather than merely existing. We reach out into the universe for a better state of being; we feel an unidentified pull that is outside of what we are familiar with. Worst of all is that we are Christians and we have heard so much about how life with God is supposed to be a kaleidoscope of extraordinary experiences. The Bible is full of adventure, danger, intrigue and one story after another of how God's children stood out amongst the inhabitants of the earth. We look at our stories only to see how commonplace and redundant our church goings and comings can be. John Franco will open your mind to the ways of thinking that keep you in motion, but offers much momentum. With God-inspired exposition on the inheritance of power and authority Jesus gave us, Franco shows that living out our salvation in all its glory is as much about our choices as making the decision for Christ in the first place. There will always be things that get us down, but with the right perspective even the negative aspects of life can be utilized to further our growth. The Almighty's forgiveness and healing work all things for our good. Break out of the monotony and inactivity; step up to the plate armed with God's word about who you are and what you can do, then knock this life out of the park.
