Men and the Church: Is there a Future? Yes, there is a future for the men in your church! "Men and the Church: Is There a Future?" examines a topic of crucial importance to the state of today's church- the decreasing interest, impact and involvement of men. Addressing Christian leaders and those emerging to leadership, clergy and laymen alike, Crouse seeks to inform and equip today's Christian men with the tools to fix the gender gap in the 21st century church and welcome men back to the church they have been so pivotal in building up over the past 2000 years ago. Jay Crouse has been actively involved in ministry to men for over twenty-five years and participating full-time since leaving the private sector in 1999. His ministry to men journey began in the Episcopal Diocese of SW Florida and has expanded nationally and to the church at large. Jay and his wife of thirty-three years, Laura, live in Sarasota, Florida and attend Church of the Redeemer. They have four sons.
Although the present generation sees God's design for sex twisted into all manner of counterfeit pleasures, earthly marriage and its privilege of sexual intimacy are meant to parallel the intense love of Christ for His Church. But a good Christian woman should not compare sex to a relationship with Jesus. Or should she? We were created to be the pure and flawless object of a royal King's obsession. It is time His holy desire for intimacy with His bride boldly shines in immaculate light. But the love story rarely looks as we'd expect. From the tragic and untimely death of her father when she was eleven, to the cancer diagnosis of her four year-old only child, author Angie Nichols struggled to cling to childhood beliefs in a "good God." Your story is different in detail, but is likely similar in disillusion. Something Abundant is the coming-of-age love story of a child of God maturing into the bride of Christ told through the Biblical precepts of wheat harvest, the threshing floor, and ancient Jewish wedding customs. Applying Old Testament precepts (including God's yearly feasts) and Scriptural truths from the New Covenant, you will glean understanding of Christ's relentless pursuit to bring His bride to a holy place of intimacy. Daughter, can you hear the melody of divine engagement? Few dare to believe there is more to this Love story. Now is the time. He is coming. His desire is for you. If you choose to read on, get ready. This is your cue. Here comes the bride.... Angie Nichols and her husband Chris make their home among the tall pines of east Texas. Mycah, their only child, is proof of God's healing. Angie is a writer, author, speaker, and founder of Something Abundant Ministries. www.somethingabundantministries.org
The whole world is in a mess because of the errors of the past and present generation, and many of our innocent young girls are falling prey of the consequences of these errors. They are faced with difficult situations associated with their personalities on daily basis. This book provides answers to many questions they may have in their mind. It will help all young girls to understand whom they are, build their confidence and place a value on their precious life. It is to give them courage they need to say no when they mean no and not to yield to the deceits of those who may desire them rather than loving them and hinder them from becoming whom God destined them to be. A/P (Asst. Pastor) Margaret Funmi has been a Minister in The Redeemed Christian Church of God for thirteen years. She is a wife and a mother of two (a teenage girl and a boy). She is a devoted Christian and has passion for lost souls.
The Civil War - A Biblical Perspective Why was the Civil War fought? What was God's purpose in allowing the War? The American Civil War is one of the most written about topics in American history; however, most authors fail to relate the reason why the war was fought and God's purposes during this time. In this book, we outline the cause of the War from source documents of the men who lived during this time and made the decisions which led to the conflict. The unique aspect of this book is utilizing the truth of God's Word to shed light on the reason why the War was fought and God's purpose for America by allowing the War. Major battles and personalities, the life of the soldier and many other fascinating aspects of the Civil War will be covered in this book. You will see the hand of God as He worked His purposes in America during the greatest fiery trial in United States history. John Eyth, CPA, CMA, CFM is a financial executive. His experience includes for profit and non-profit organizations. He has studied the Bible and Civil War history for over thirty years. Rebecca Eyth is a college student pursuing a double major in History and English. While in high school, she was a nationally ranked, award winning public speaker. She has studied the Bible for over twelve years and Civil War history for over nine years. This father-daughter writing team uses their analytical, investigative and critical thinking skills, as applied to historical evidence, to draw valid conclusions of Civil War history from a Biblical worldview. John and his wife Antionette, along with their daughters Rebecca and Hannah, live in Pennsylvania. The Eyth family has visited eighty-eight Civil War related sites, including thirty-two Civil War battlefields.
Many of us sweep our emotional pain "under the rug" or try to push through it, only to find out that it is still there. It follows us from relationship to relationship and we wonder why the same things keep happening over and over again. We ask ourselves "when will things get better?" When will we be able to find some peace in our relationships? Have you found yourself thinking about those questions? When your relationships end leaving you with pain, what do you do? Loving Through the Pain examines the pain which God's children experience when they are not properly instructed on how to deal with betrayal and hurt in relationships. By carrying distrust and old mindsets into each new relationship, we miss out on God's best for us. As you apply the principles in this book, you will be able to navigate through the pain that exist in every kind of relationship. You will learn how to forgive, let go, and move forward into the successful relationships that God wants you to have. As you learn how much God loves you, you will be able to love yourself, and in turn, love others - even when they cause you pain. I was born and raised in Philadelphia. I have been an elementary school teacher in the public school system for the past seventeen years. I resigned my teaching position to begin a new journey as a writer and public speaker. Three years ago I began writing this book out of a burden from the pain in my own relationships and what I've witnessed in other people's relationships. My goal is to continue to write to help people navigate through life's difficult times and encourage them in their walk with God.
CHRISTMAS IS HERE! CHRISTMAS HAS COME! Laura Stevens was traveling alone on a bus up to Raleigh, North Carolina when she was accidentally stranded in a small mountain diner. Frantic and bewildered, she cautiously accepts the help of a friendly Christian family who brings her home with them, hoping to solve her dilemma by morning. But will they? Perhaps there was another reason for her distress, a reason for this little Christian family to be a part of Laura's life. But will they still want to help once they learn the awful truth, the truth as to why Laura is very troubled during Christmas? In fact, will their Christian ways be a hindrance? Or will their prayers be able to remove the obstacles? Christmas is coming to Western North Carolina. Isn't Christmas wonderful? Kathryn Kwiecien was born and raised in upstate New York. She became a 'born again believer' many years ago and now resides near Knoxville, Tennessee along with her husband. Together they have been married for over 39 years. The stories in this book are very precious to her especially now that she has fond memories to cherish, memories of when she lived in Hendersonville, North Carolina... "The most wonderful place to live!"
Hello, My name is Jo Burgess, a new author. Tennessee is my home, a beautiful part of God's creation. I hold no theological degrees of any kind, and have no previous background in writing. My career before retirement was in the medical field. It has always been a great feeling to be able to help others in any way possible. This book is a random selection of writings done with the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. My purpose is two-fold. First, I seek to exalt the name of the LORD by showing His greatness and faithfulness to His children. Secondly, I pray that these words will encourage those who may be struggling with difficult circumstances in life. One may be thinking, "Does anyone care what I'm going through," or, "Does anyone even care if I live or die?" I would like to say to you that there is one who loves you more than anyone else ever could, and His name is Christ Jesus. He wants to carry your burdens for you. Proverbs 3: 5-7: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the LORD, and depart from evil." Jesus is our only hope in this sin darkened world and for all eternity. He is bigger than any problem we will ever have, and I seek to show that personally through my testimony about His faithfulness to me throughout my life. The Lord has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. I pray that this book will have a positive impact upon the lives of all who read it. May God bless you.
Are you trying to be a good person hoping God will love you? Do religious depictions of Jesus seem phony to you? The Lord calls you "friend" and invites you to "Come and be refreshed!" Does it surprise you Jesus calls you friend? When we know our Father, we can better understand His will for our lives and learn to walk in it. It is our privilege to endorse this fascinating book. Judy's picturesque writing will take you into new dimensions of experiencing God. Johnny and Elizabeth Enlow Judy makes it seem completely normal to walk and talk and laugh with Christ. I heartily recommend this book to anyone seeking a closer walk with the Lord. Anne Follis You will find yourself on a wonderful journey seen through Judy's eyes as she shares her spiritual encounters. Janice VanCronkhite Judy's book, Jewels from the River, gives a personal, close-up encounter with our King. I strongly encourage you to read it. Her captivating visions and visitations with the Lord reveal His ways, His thoughts, and His will for us NOW. Kat Kerr Prepare to experience a "Holy Stroll." Judy Bauman has the unique ability to write of her most extraordinary walk along the River with our Lord as her guide. Kathleen Higham Like Ezekiel, who allowed the man to take him for a swim, please allow Rev. Judy to take you from ankle-deep to the overflow of the river of the Spirit. Michael Banka Judy Bauman is a speaker, writer, ordained minister, and the founder and president of The Father's Love International Ministries, Inc. Her mandate is to teach the Word of God and bring the healing power of the Father's love to the nations.
Gentlemen, it's time to "Man Up" by taking the mandate to "God Up." It's about going back to the basics and, men, that means bringing back courtship into your relationship/marriage and viewing your relationship through God's eyes and not the world's. In his first book, The Higher Mandate, author Raul Stamp discusses how God's purpose to create Adam, as a provider, warrior and competitor, still applies to who men should be in today's modern world. The art of "manning up" is to allow God's truths and principles of respect, love and responsibility to permeate households, marriages and especially men themselves. This is the only way men can escape Satan's hold on them and feel the assurance of God's powerful love once more. Raul uses examples from his troubling first marriage and subsequent divorce to demonstrate the pitfalls men can find themselves in when the enemy is in control. By embracing the lessons God supplied through scripture as well as going back to the basics of relational courtship, Raul found a deep appreciation for who he was in God and who he could be as a husband to his second wife and better father for his children. Take the challenge; "Man up" for God! "We have come to a place where society has no problem using the most visible mediums to spread, on a mass level, the message that men are weak, incapable buffoons, fit only to be ridiculed and bested by women in every arena. It's the lie of the enemy. Our women are not our competition. We are the torchbearers, and we are called to be an example to the world of who our Father is. The best way we can do that is to love the way He loves us. That is the beginning of manhood." -Raul Stamp
Doris was born in a small town in West Virginia and raised in humble beginnings; but, through the direction of God on her life, she retired from a major corporation as a third level manager. Her journey is somewhat different from the average person. As she points out, in hindsight, God directed her life through changing dynamics and various circumstances. Her account of divine healing is an on-going testimony of the power of God. The Word of Knowledge she received on several occasions gave her the assurance that God knew exactly who she was and what was happening in her life. Her desire for those who read her compelling story is that they, too, will trust God for their every need. She explains in hindsight how God had his hand on her life and how He worked out every detail for His Will - for her. Doris and her husband, George, live in Buford, Georgia. The Good Wine extends an invitation to all believers in Christ to draw closer to Him by drinking of the wine of the Holy Spirit. Through an insightful look at the persons attending the wedding in the story of Jesus turning the water into wine in John 2, we can experience deeper intimacy with Him. From this intimate place we will produce the best wine-the good wine-to offer to others so they too can draw near to Him. Rose Murdock became a Christian in 1977 at the age of seventeen. King David's virgin daughter, Tamar, was raped by her brother and was forever changed. Her physical wounds healed, but her spirit remained broken. "The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity, but a broken spirit who can bear" (Prov. 18:14). I am Tamar. You are Tamar. Anyone who has ever experienced abuse on any level (i.e., physical, sexual, mental, emotional, etc) can relate to some aspect of Tamar's tragedy. Abuse wounds more than just the physical body; it damages our ability to walk in the Spirit and produce the fruit of the Spirit. Still, there is hope. God is able to heal and renew our Spirit so that we can bear fruit. "Dynamic, encouraging, biblically sound, practical...These are just a few words that come to mind as I read over this book. It leads you to desire healing, freedom, and restoration. Only those who want real change should journey through this story of hope. It is going to shake up and challenge mindsets, and be the catalyst for women (and men) to be free from deep rooted strongholds and bondage." For anyone devastated by fear and shame, the author takes her reader on a legally blind journey that births in childhood and ends in her middle years. Her trail is filled with the emotional, psychological, mental and spiritual milestones that enveloped her with fear and shame deep enough to make her invisible. On this journey the reader will come to see how Borderline Personality and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder developed through her indoctrination by family abuse that spanned decades, and where restoration can be found in the darkest depths. Born in New York, Regan A. MacBannon-Mason was raised in a highly dysfunctional family, and acquired her knowledge through research on the subject of Borderline Personality and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Her findings led to a personal investigation of how fear and shame stained every facet of her life. She graduated from Alameda College, Phi Theta Kappa with two Associates Degrees. As an English major at the University of California Berkeley, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, her interest in disability discourse was heightened. After earning her Master of Science degree from California State University, Sacramento, several crises in her life inspired her to tell a story that lets readers see how the roadmap of her life can direct them to restoration.
¬This is a true story about me - a young teenage girl trapped in a relationship with a professional boxer who was a street - fighter and gang leader. He completely controlled my life through severe physical, mental and verbal abuse. After becoming pregnant in my early teens, I found that there was no way out of the relationship and no possible avenue of escape, as everything I tried had failed. Eventually I gave up trying and embraced a path with him in order to survive. Marriage was on the doorstep when something radical happened that changed my destiny forever and unlike many others in an extremely violent relationship...I escaped to tell the story! Deborah A. We each make dozens of decisions - both big and small - on a daily basis as we make our way through life. Seekonomics highlights how many principles of economics can help us think about our Christian walk - and help us to make better decisions on a daily basis. You might be surprised at how economics (aka the dismal science) can help us in our day to day walk. Seeking to walk in the Light? Seekonomics may be the book you have been looking for to help in your personal study or group discussions. It will change how you think about economics and - more importantly - your walk with Christ!

Many have been wounded and are hiding out of site, due to the threat of attacks by many vicious predators in their path. This book is designed to assist you, fellow traveler in Christ, by naming and explaining the many dangers on the path before you as you heed the call of your own spiritual journey. It also provides understanding that will allow you to thrive in spite of the predators you might not expect, those within Christianity. This autobiographical book describes the author's childhood growing up in an abusive household and how God opened her eyes to this "journey" of turning her past experiences into a mission to help victims of domestic violence. Readers, whether victims of abuse or not, will appreciate the message of hope that the author provides in showing that one's past can become a meaningful building block to their future. "Sylvia invites you to observe what took place behind the closed doors of her childhood home where domestic abuse resided. She describes "IT" by taking you on a tour inside the concrete walls where..... Excuses, denials, depression, rationalizing, false hopes, addictions, generational curses are as much in residence as the family inside. Sylvia's story gives insight into abusive homes not to garner pity but to show how victims of abuse can overcome their adversities. Through the pages of this book you will find a safe place and permission to release tears, fears, sorrows and shame. You will be empowered to tell your story to others who are on a road you have already traveled. You are reassured that you are not a victim of your past and there is healing for mind, body and soul." Darlene Sheardon, President NuRevelations, LLC "Thank God that this author was brave enough to tell her story. This book is a testimony of how God is always at work in our lives, despite the tragedies and obstacles we face as a result of domestic violence in any capacity as well as for those who just need to have a prayerful watch." Rev. Joyce Dorch. If you have abandoned your dreams because you can't let go of the past, it's time to let go and come into the future God has planned for you

Pastors need to understand that Christ is not just the head of the church but also their boss. He is the Chief-shepherd, and no one can question His decision. According to the passage Peter tells us that Christ will give us an imperishable and incorruptible reward. This is more than enough to motivate the pastors to do the work of God joyously and cheerfully. This also explains why Peter admonished the pastors in the early church not to allow money to determine their performance in his church. The word "reward" is used here, and it simply means that Christ will pay the faithful pastors that have labored in love and ministered to the saints. He further went to explain the nature of the payment, "he shall receive a crown of glory..."1Peter 5:17c. The wages that we receive for our labor on earth takes care of bills and other daily necessities and then finish, but when Christ pays us, it never ends because it is both material and spiritual. So, be faithful as a pastor and your reward will be sure. Therefore, it is my prayer that this book be a source of blessing to pastors, mentors, and all those who are facing life vicissitude.
Is there ever a deed or act that just violates beyond grace; a hurt that rips beyond the extending of mercy because it was so painful? Read further and determine for yourself. This will be one you will frequently return to." - K. Goddard, MBA/Domestic Engineer, North Carolina. "A beautiful and inspiring story that beckons and calls us beyond the words of the page, into the lives and hearts of its characters. You will see pieces of yourself in each of their stories." - D. Gates, Academic Advisor-Communication, North Carolina With the nature of a counselor, this author has a way of matching real life problems to biblical concepts. This respectful God fearing young woman is dedicated to God, her family, work and others, both nearby and beyond.
I Would Love To Be Married But... We must know that marriage can be only what two people make of it. It is a give and take process and I believe through love and understanding, trust and communication, and most importantly, perseverance, two people can conquer their fears of unexpected situations that may arise during the course of marriage. Taking this advice can give the balance we all need to maintain a healthy relationship. This book examines the issues of race, culture, and the resulting difficulties faced by its victims-specifically those of the African-American and other African descent cultures . By pouring through scripture and drawing clear lines between the Bible and the past and current state of racial relations, the author presents a fresh look at race issues as God sees them. Some men see poverty of other men or countries as God's will. The author denies this view and sees poverty as the result of race relations for the fact that all white countries are known as rich countries and all black countries as poor. The author believes God wants all men to live in the dignity of His image since He made all men in His image (Gen. 1:26-27). However, some men live less than animals. Jesus says all men are more valuable than animals (Matt. 6:26), but animals in white countries seem to be more valuable than majority of blacks all over the world. The author explains what brought about this condition, and how it can be fixed. He believes if it were God's will for some men to live less than animal, then Moses lies in his statement, "God created mankind in his own image." Also, Jesus colossally fails in His words or the apostle Matthew lies to write these words of Jesus, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" (Mat. 6:26). In conclusion, the author believes both Moses and Jesus are very accurate. There is no justification in the Bible for the poverty of the African descents. Why majority of them live in poverty? The answer is inside the book.

Mainstream denominations are slowly dying. Your church may be growing; good for you. Your church may not be growing or shrinking. Our churches though are slowly losing thousands and millions of Christians. Is the problem that Christ isn't relevant? No. So who does that leave? We need some way to staunch the bleeding not because if we don't, we won't be a big voting block. It is because we believe that every loss of a child of God from the ranks of our memberships is of eternal importance. What can be done? I'm not positive; but here are some ideas! Drew Fryar lives with his Grandmother in San Antonio, TX. He tries to tell everyone that living with someone rent free after college isn't pathetic because she's elderly and she needs him to change light bulbs and work the DVD player. He tells everyone that he's being frugal by not renting an apartment. We all know the truth though, don't we?
Front and Center explores the decisions a person makes on their personal journey of life, from the actual to the spiritual, and suggests what a person needs to adopt in determining who or what is front and center in their lives. The reader is encouraged, through scriptural reference, to give consideration to the road they follow when it comes to establishing whether or not their spiritual and ultimately their eternal life are in danger. Through each of the twelve chapters several subjects are discussed that eventually lead the reader in determining who, not what, should be in the front and center of their life. The realization of choosing Jesus as that focus is justifiably discussed and proven to show why a person needs to come to that conclusion.

Born into the Muslim faith, raised in the Middle East, immigrated to the U.S. for a new life with his brother's American widow and daughter, and after years of resisting the call of Christ, surrendered -- just in time to be defrauded by his business partner, slandered, victimized by racial and political prejudice, and falsely accused of crimes he never committed. The purpose of this personal story is not to obtain sympathy. It is shared to let people know the reality of what Max faced over a two-year period. Max forgives every person who harmed him or attempted to harm him. Through forgiveness, Max moved forward in faith, trusting God in every aspect of his life. Daily Max confessed "I am righteous in Christ Jesus. I have right standing with God just like I had never done anything wrong." This book was written to encourage people who are experiencing great trials and have given up hope. If you feel that you have hit bottom, that there is no way out or that life will never be as good as it once was, then this book is for you. In desperate situations, it is often humanly impossible to correct past decisions or remove the deep pain they cause. Only Jesus Christ can transform despair to victory. Consider totally surrendering your life to Him. Read the Bible and speak God's promises out loud. Make a DECISION to trust and believe God completely, no matter what your circumstances look like. Anything is possible with God. Make a simple but sold-out determination to live in faith. God will not disappoint you. Mark 9:23 New International Version "'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for one who believes." Luke 1:37 King James Version For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Triumph: A Collection of Christian Poetry, is truly a triumph for the author and the saints of God as it is another weapon in the fight against the enemy. Scripturally based poetry draw the readers back to Bible, and highlight the world's need for salvation. It encourages the Church to love and praise God, and to continue to grow and labour for God. "It is simple and easy to read, yet inspirational and biblically sound. The author uses layman terms to express a wide range of deep theological truths through his practical, everyday experiences. As you sit to read, relax and be open-minded. Prepare to ponder and meditate; you will surely be blessed." Pastor Keith Grant, First Assembly of God, Tortola, BVI. Terence Vanterpool is the fourth son and child of nine children, six of whom are still alive. As a youngster, he loved to run, sing and do math. He developed epilepsy at a young age, which greatly hindered his activities, as treatment at that time was limited and his seizures were not always controlled. His physical activities were greatly restricted, and over time his mental faculties were impacted by recurrent seizures and head trauma. However, as a Christian from young he never lost his love of God or the Bible or of singing. He has a beautiful bass voice which he uses for the glory of God. He thanks God for the gift of being able to pen these poems (songs) to share the need for God. It is his hope that one day all his songs will be sung, and his passion for God shared with others.
