"Freedom," the author proclaims, "is meant to be lived!" As a woman, Alison Wallwork is able to speak directly and intimately to the unique troubles faced by women, and she identifies the core problem: the myriad variations of fear. She also outlines the ready solutions presented in God's Word. In addition to sharing the story of her own life, she provides inspirational testimonies of other women who are "Living Freedom" by putting the precepts of this book-which are drawn directly from The Book-into practice in their daily lives. Baggage-real or imagined, emotional or psychological-is rooted in the burden of spiritual baggage, and shedding it requires a spiritual solution. Every woman should read this, and every man should give it to a woman he loves-though it wouldn't hurt him to read it himself first! "Alison's...testimony is inspiring, struggles relatable, and her love for Jesus oozes out of every sentence." -Jenna Lucado Bishop, Author & National Speaker, Revolve Tour Living Freedom: Losing a Spiritual 10 lbs. is a must read for women of ALL ages. "...The Mother Gap should help anyone struggling with memories of the lack of parental love." -Reverend Roland Coffey, Christian & Missionary Alliance Pastor When a daughter feels disconnected from her mother, her heart hurts. There is an empty spot, a gap, where love should be. Her heart cries out ... "Mom, I need you!" "Aren't I good enough?" "Won't you love me for who I am?" These unresolved emotions set the course for all the daughter's relationships. Her need for affirmation affects her friendships, her marriage, her children, and future generations. But there is One who can fill the hole in her heart and cover that gap. Jesus offers the emotional healing that makes connection possible. Especially for daughters wounded by their mothers, He becomes a bridge of forgiveness. This is Jessica's story, shared with candor and compassion. Despite enduring emotional abuse, she experienced the grace to keep reaching for her mom; grace only God could supply. Perhaps you have experienced the Mother Gap, or know someone who has. If so, this story is sure to bring encouragement. Jesus meets our heart's yearnings for connection. He invites us to be free of resentment and bitterness, envy and strife. Each chapter's personal application questions prompt reflection and lead to healthier relationships. Jessica Cherie Errico is a daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. A former pregnancy care center director, she is passionate about women's issues. Author of several articles and devotionals, she self-published a children's book and writes a column for the Tribune & Georgian newspaper. An artist at heart, Jessica paints a vivid portrait of life with her classy, alcoholic mother. This is a memoir about her quest to bridge the disconnect she always felt between them, and the miracle of forgiveness she experienced. Ready to find the Bridge of Forgiveness?

The Black Church will survive because it is all about faith and family. The Black Church is not simply a crowd of people that gather in a centralized location on Sunday mornings. For many, the Black Church is viewed as an extension of one's immediate family. This extension of family is what gives the congregation a sense of community. I'm the grandson of a pastor. I grew up in the pews of the Baptist church. As a result, I have many mothers and aunts and uncles who are not blood relatives. But then again, they are blood relatives. They are my mother, father, sister, brother, cousin, uncle and aunt in the Lord. As our churches grow in number, we must also grow in ministry. The only way to do that is to grow in relationship one with the other. The Black Church is a village. In the most traditional use of the word, villages are small groups of families who are situated together for sociability and defense. In the village, people look out for one another. In the village, there are many mothers and fathers. The village concept is such that the success of the individual is directly connected to the success of the group. Many Black Churches function as little villages. We help each other. We support each other. There is a sense of safety that the Black Church provides to Black communities. While all Black people do not attend Black Churches, the majority of Black families appreciate the proximity of this institution within its village. It is all about faith and family. The Black Church, the black family, will survive if God be for us.

And the servant of the Lord must not strive, but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of Truth is come, he will guide you into all truth; for he shall not speak of himself: But whatsoever he shall hear; that shall he speak: And he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me; for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the father hath are mine: Therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another; and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of Hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those; the wayfaring men, though fools shall not err therein. Then said I, lo, I come in the volume of the book it is written of me. I delight to do thy will, O my God: Yea, thy law is within my heart.

About the author and the book Clement Rajaratnam Prabakaran was born in Tanjore, India to God fearing Christian parents Alice and Richard Rajaratnam. Per family custom, Clement Prabakaran was baptized and raised in Madras as an Anglican in the Church of South India. When Prabakaran and wife Prema moved to Detroit, Michigan as newly married couple, they became members in the local Episcopal Cathedral Church of St. Paul in 1971. Other Christian themes are in short poem form to keep the attention of the reader be it young or otherwise to focus on Jesus Christ mission in this world. The poems were started in 2011, the four hundredth anniversary of the Authorized or King James Version of the Bible on which all poems are based. I thank The Very Reverend Dr. S. Scott Hunter, Dean of the Cathedral Church of St. Paul, Detroit, Michigan for the foreword to this book. His input and guidance was invaluable to this book and is much appreciated. "Thanks Be To God For His Unspeakable Gift" II Corinthians, Verse 15 C. R. Prabakaran January 15, 2014
How can a finite human being understand God who is infinite in every way beyond this universe? We can only know God and His great love by His own Revelation, or unfolding, of Himself. God the constant GREAT I AM is beyond our ever changing perception of reality. The continuous unfolding of the Divine Revelation of His love is the journey of our hearts that requires the illuminating power of the Holy Spirit - who searches all things and even the heart of God - who will lead us to that eternal converging point of all of our desires and destinies in all history: Jesus Christ, our One True King and the High Priest of the Universe. This book is a spiritual weapon of the unchanging, eternal Word of God that systematically destroys all fear, doubt, hatred and evil in our hearts in order for us to take the first revolutionary step in taking hold of all surpassing and conquering love of Christ for which He has taken hold of all of His people for all eternity... Dr. Samuel Pak is a nuclear medicine physician living in Houston who has served on various international short term missions including a medical and multiple door-to-door evangelical mission trips to South America, and water well installation trips to Central America. He taught as a single life Bible study teacher at a local church in Houston for 2 years, and served 3 years on the board of directors and 3 years as a volunteer/mentor for one of the at-risk urban youth Christian mentorship organizations in Houston. The days were filled with turmoil on every front. Yet in the midst of it was a virtuous man whose life and character was undaunted by the times. And then there was the young widowed woman who had just returned to town with her mother-in-law. She was different for sure, but there was something intangible and much more distinct about her. Maybe it was because she was new in her faith. Maybe it was her hard working habits, or her submissive spirit, or the major impact she had made upon the residents of the community, or maybe it was the way she went quietly about her business. Whatever it was, she was being prepared for a divine intersection with the man who had also been prepared. Little did either one of them know what God had prepared them to receive, and to do for His glory. He really does have prepared places for prepared people. Is this about Ruth and Boaz? Or, is it about someone you know. After all, the way God works in the lives of His people is eternal. Look inside and see how He did it for them, and how He will do it for you. Mike McCutcheon, ThD, DMin, has been a student of the Word for over 40 years; the first 28 years as a pastor and church planter and the latter years as an adjunct teacher at the Maharashtra Bible College in Bodwad, Maharashtra (India) and the Grace Bible College in Amravati, Maharashtra (India). This book will give you an insight of heaven's blessings and confirmation of God's grace upon us. When heaven is on your side, trials and tribulations may come, but the Lord Almighty will stand on your behalf. My brothers and sisters, always look beyond the current situation in your life. Find the positive circumstance that God is working on manifesting in your life after the storm is over with. This type of thinking takes strong faith (walking with God). If you have faith, your life will never be the same; you will find peace and joy in whatever situation you find yourself dealing with. The joy that you have within you when you have faith is hard to explain; I can only say it is a very wonderful feeling-give it a try and taste the goodness of God.
Life definitely comes with its difficulties, uncertainties and questions of what the next step will be for you and your family. Some people choose to rely on their own strength and understanding to overcome the challenges in their way, while others may just let despair take over and convince themselves no solution is available. However, true believers in Jesus Christ know that through their salvation in Him, God hears, recognizes and will bless those who love and trust in Him. These believers have what author Anthony Taylor calls Irrational Faith, the title of his newest book that focuses on keeping believers' eyes on God while in complicated situations. Irrational faith comes through in heartfelt, groundbreaking decisions that a believer makes in order to surpass their negative outlook on their situation while faithfully seeking the will of God. From making the decision to accept Jesus as their savior to being tireless in prayer and patience, believers will become acquainted to God's voice and direction for their journey through life. Our attitude alone cannot define our faith. Faith must be developed by obeying God's word through the storms of life. It is during these times that we rely on God's provision, promises and overall concern for us revealed in His word. Anthony uses the familiar life stories of Rahab, Noah, Abraham and others to exemplify how each were faced with similar opposition in different scenarios, and received God's abundant blessings when they relinquished their lives to Him. By allowing God to take over the reins of your life, you, as the believer, are ready to face the obstacles in your path, with the full force of the Savior and Heavenly Father in front. Seeing follows believing when you give everything over to God, and find freedom in your breakthrough from sin. Anthony L. Taylor is a U.S. Army Chaplain, and one of today's dynamic speakers on the themes of faith development, spiritual resilience, empowerment, goal-setting, marriage and family wellness. He previously served as a senior pastor in Norfolk, Virginia from 1992 to 2000. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Howard University, a MFT degree from Texas A&M Central TX, a CPE Certification from Riverside Regional Medical Center and a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Theological Seminary. Anthony and his wife, Paula, are the parents of three grown children, and reside in Central, Texas.
This book is intended to help the New Believer in understanding their new life in Christ. As believers in Christ, we have been commissioned to go out and make disciples of all men. Christians are in the world winning souls, which is great, but many of those souls are returning back into the world because they are not being disciple. Once we win them we can't abandon them, but we must start cultivating and developing them. As mature Christians, let's help direct and develop those who are making a decision to follow Christ by teaching them the ways of God. Lafayette S. White, Jr. was called to the Gospel Ministry at the age of 18 and served under Pastor Norman Owens, Sr. at the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in East St. Louis, IL before going to college. Pastor White being led by God, to take the city God has given him has embarked upon a mission from God to make an impact on the City of Riverside. His strong faith in God is leading him to win and make disciples for God that will influence the world. Pastor White serves in ministry with his beautiful wife, Mrs. Rolanda White. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on October 12, 2002. Together they strive to glorify God in ministry by example and faith. Pastor White is a Son in Ministry of Dr. Phillip G. Goudeaux, Pastor of Calvary Christian Center in the City of Sacramento. Pastor White is optimistic about the future of Mount Olive and with his strong faith in God's Word believes, through revelation knowledge given by Holy Spirit, we can make Disciples and Build Relationships that will Honor the Lord.
Yes Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and we're a part of the Royal Family of God but we still have our moments: - When we feel lonely, forgotten, unloved and that no one cares about us - When we feel helpless, hopeless and like we can't go on - When we lose sight of our true identity-who we are in Christ as well as both the blessings and burdens that come along with being one of His - When we slip up and take God's blessings for granted and find ourselves complaining rather than thanking This book of poems is a source of inspiration and encouragement for the child of God who is striving to keep the FAITH. Summer Johnson loves God and people. Her greatest joy in serving Him is encouraging others via poetry, devotional thoughts, prayer, listening, the ministry of presence-whichever God lays on her heart. She's not a preacher or some super saint, and her degree is actually in biology rather than theology. Instead she's just one who's willing to be used to edify the body of Christ through the gifts God has given her. Her diagnosis with breast cancer at the young age of 29 has not weakened her faith in God or her service to God but has facilitated greater ministry as God has blessed her repeatedly, strengthening and sustaining her spirit and keeping her faith intact as He heals her body. Two of her favorite phrases are To God Be The Glory (TGBTG) and Keep The Faith (KTF). She's trusting that God will get the glory and that His people will be encouraged to KTF through this book of poems.
All scripture has special meaning and intent. As one delves deeper to attain the full meaning of each scripture, we find personal truths and convictions to guide our spiritual growth. As God has shown His love for poetry throughout His written word, author, Lee Finley has unequally compiled, and put in poetic form, his comments that he has gleaned from individual scriptures that he has found throughout God's Word. This endeavor is solely for the enjoyment of poetry lovers everywhere. So enjoy what Scripture saith.
An effective prayer life is celebrated extensively in the Bible, and by several in the Christian faith, as the best way to commune with the Lord. Yet prayer can sometimes be intimidating in determining how to pray and who to pray for. In her new bible study guide, My Soul Thirsts for God, Christian author Linda Darlington concentrates on the different topics of prayer, such as intercession, repentance and prayer for others. Linda also includes studies focused on quiet time with God, overcoming distractions and excuses, and listening and hearing for God's still small voice. The guide combines group discussion with individual study, starting with a short topic explanation by the author, followed by scripture references and an accompanying leader's guide page to coincide with each study session. With this bible study, Christians will strengthen their prayer lives not out of obligation, but to grow the blessed connection with God.
TRAIN UP A CHILD is a teacher education textbook for Christian parents engaged in laying the foundation for life and learning during the preschool years. It defines the meaning and purpose for education and provides a curriculum for the parents in developing the necessary educational awareness in all areas of learning. Following are several quotations that highlight the Christian character and Biblical worldview of both the author and the Book. You have given birth to a one and only model, with a potential never before registered on earth, and now God also tells you that you are responsible to train up this little one in the way he should go-both for time and for eternity. Teaching/Learning should begin in the womb and never cease. Learning is (1) the acquisition of knowledge, (2) the structuring of the knowledge processing systems resulting in a proper understanding and use of knowledge, and (3) the structuring of the individual-building what we know as character. The way he should go- is the path especially belonging to this child fitted for his individual characteristics. A child must be systematically instructed, initiated in the way of life, from the earliest dawn of intelligence. First, the parents must be characterized by their supreme love for God. Loving Him as LORD with all their hearts, with all their souls, and with all their might. This is the highest teaching credential for training children in the way they should go. If you desire to raise your children to love and obey Jesus Christ then you must give prime attention to instilling a value system within their minds that is truly minted from the gold of heaven-values that have eternal meaning. Think of it this way, God is trusting you to work with Him to conform your child into the likeness of Christ. This is the great goal, and reward for faithful parenting. Francis W. Through My Faith Came His Words ... so I picked up a pencil and started to write... is a series of single-word titled poems, written as a result of inspiration I received form our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Some of the topics I felt inspiration to write about are Trust, Worry, Greed, Hope, Freedom, Mercy, Patience and Sharing, just to name a few. Each of the poems topic actions and emotions, which make up many of the experiences we encounter on a daily basis. I wrote my poems over a period of two and a half years, as the Lord brought each particular subject to my attention. Living in a fallen world, I suspect God felt I needed work or at least a better knowledge in these areas. As a result of writing on each topic, I gained a clearer sense of understanding in each area, once the poem was completed. Perhaps you will gain much of that same inspiration, once you've read them. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, I spent most of my professional career in corporate sales and management. Always with an interest in music, both playing various instruments and singing, I was finally drawn to song writing. Ultimately my appreciations for the written word led me to poetry. Writing inspirational poetry has truly brought me closer to the Lord than I ever have been. My hope is you will share in the inspiration to seek His guiding hand as you continue on your life journey.
"Sometimes church is sad because from the outside looking in, things look good-people want to get inside. But from the inside, people want to get out. I think it has something to do with how people are treated after they get in. It's not God! It's definitely not God's fault. It's the people's fault: the church people!" It's time to face the fact: PK problems are everyone's problem. With Preachers' Kids: Abiding Under the Shadow, James Bailey gives you an unfiltered look into the troubling circumstances PKs live through simply because of who their parents are. What can really be done about dysfunction in the body of Christ? James Bailey breaks the dialogue wide open and not only tells his story, but also includes words directly from the mouths of many other PKs as they candidly share their life experiences. Instead of sitting back and accepting these serious issues as part of life in a sinful world, we can actively discuss the problems and each determine to do our part in carrying out solutions. If you are a PK, you will find support, solace and spiritual wisdom to handle the situations that often interfere in your personal relationship with Christ. If you are not a PK, you will have your eyes opened to what they experience. As one of their Christian siblings, you can make better choices about how you relate with the first family of your congregation. From every side there are positive changes in attitudes and behavior that can be accomplished through God's all-powerful love and grace. Read Preachers' Kids today.
The Seven Seals are basically an introduction or synopsis of the entire events that are going to occur toward the end of this age. By reading carefully these Seven Seals that are mostly found in chapter six of the book of Revelation, one should be able to get a quick glimpse of future events. "The author has a great reverence for the Word of God and has taken considerable care to let the Word interpret the Word and not make it of private interpretation. The approach that the author has taken in explaining the end times is very effective in helping us make sense of this subject. His explanations put these events together through opening up the progression of the seven seals. As a senior pastor for 20 years now, listening to the author share his heart on this subject, it has helped me to receive a better understanding of the end times and how it all works together. It has also helped open my eyes to the vast amount of connections that exist between Revelation's apocalyptic message and the Bible from beginning to end." - Bishop Scott Bambrough Senior Pastor, Tucson Church of God of Prophecy
Charlene Reid's novel, A Paper Bag for Anna, depicts a strong, close-knit, Christian family after the loss of Jerry, the protagonist's husband. This poignant work of fiction portrays a family's deep connection to a husband and father lost to cancer, as they struggle to carry on, keeping his memories close to each of their hearts. This is a memorable book encapsulating the depth of a grieving family's love. As the story unfolds, readers are exposed to new characters that connect with the protagonist, and witness the family's faithful dedication to Christ. Prayer, tradition, love and a healthy Christian family life all punctuate the reading of this tender book.
Perhaps you feel your testimony isn't worth sharing. Think again. In a world filled with megachurch preachers, complicated theologies, and distortions of the good news of Jesus, what can a down-to-earth faith look like? "Daddy loved to fish. This particular afternoon found me with him at one of the ponds close to our camp house out in the Walker community just off the Transport Cemetery Road. I was at an age where playing on the sandy bank with a stick was every bit as entertaining as fishing. Making a little too much noise resulted in a plea to be quiet, but he still kept fishing. I went on playing. The nearby minnows would dart in the shallows right along with dad's patience when I would stamp my feet. He asked me to stop, and he kept on fishing. Maybe I took it as a challenge. I'm not sure now what was going through my head, but in a glaring display of the restlessness of a child, I had to slap my foot on that bank one more time. As he started toward me I knew I'd gone too far. I'd made a number of mistakes that afternoon, what was one more? I ran. Up the hill and away from certain doom I went. Not even halfway up the hill, terror took over when I realized he was right behind me. Like a scene from an educational program where a lion is chasing a baby deer, you knew it was not going to end well, and the narrator was going to be talking about how it was nature's way. Man, did I feel sorry for that deer..." Walk With Me is a collection of stories and observations meant to encourage faith, examine your hope, and even laugh.

This is vivid, cinematic storytelling at its best. Peopled by a cast of exquisitely drawn characters-unique as much in dialogue as exposition-In His Hands is at once a solid genre piece and an engaging, enthralling story that defies any restrictive category. Never mind watering rights, cattle rustling or bounty hunting: This is about real people facing real challenges, real pain, real life-or-death struggles day after day: betrayal, wonder, hypocrisy and redemption. The Old West setting is not incidental ... the setting of In His Hands is as much a character as Callon, Daniel or Mary. But the life events, challenges, relationships, emotions-all of it is universal, relatable, immediate and deeply involving. Through the melancholy, the stars were bright, clear, and eternal. Packed with emotion, action and musical writing. Brilliant. - Eddie Cruz, Xulon Press Editor A native of San Diego, California, married with four children; R. J. Above all, from the darkness of the Vietnam War to the majesty of the Minarets, he has found God to be constant, tender, and powerful.
I was saved and Holy Ghost filled at age 5 in a Jacksonville, Florida Church of God. God then called me into a healing ministry. As a child, I prayed for my mother dying from a ruptured artery in her left temple in an automobile accident. God so graciously stopped the bleeding and spared her life.South Rocky Mount Church of God, age of 13 got me involved in the witnessing program, and at age 16, I was asked to teach Sunday School to the senior shut-ins.In 1980, I began to preach the gospel. Beauty is only skin-deep, then why does the color of that skin matter so much? Why does it create dividing lines within one''s own race, community, and even the family? From birth, Jinnie was darker than her siblings, and relatives unthinkingly punished her for it. She learned early that those with lighter skin-tones in the black community were considered smarter, prettier, and more worthy. The race war was just as fierce within the black community as it was between blacks and whites, but in more subtle ways, with fewer options to find success.Despite the constant obstacles, Jinnie earned scholarships, left home, and entered a new world, where the age-old battle of skin-tone continued. She blossomed as she learned that designations such as "blue-black" and "pitch-black" didn''t automatically mean failure. Her outer beauty increased as her inner beauty grew stronger. However, it wasn''t until she discovered the battle in her own heart, mind, and soul, and trusted in Christ''s power, that she found peace, healing, and victory in the most vital war of all.

Communication is foundational to any healthy relationship. This is especially true of your relationship with God. Unfortunately this communication, called prayer, becomes too often a monologue rather than a dialogue. That''s where Speed Bumps come in. God knows we need help in reversing this natural tendency to treat God like He solely exists to meet our needs and make us happy. So, God purposefully places speed bumps in our lives to get our attention and slow us down long enough to wake up. Speed bumps are intended to help you re-establish or repair your relationship with Him. Your relationship with God can be restored. You can go much deeper. But you''ll need to learn how to maneuver around the speed bumps God places before you. This book was written to help you do just that.Mike Landry is the senior pastor of Sarasota Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida. Because of his dramatic conversion from atheism while a student at Georgia Tech, his ministry is characterized by a passionate desire to introduce others to Jesus Christ. Mike has been married to his wife, Cindy, since 1976. They are currently learning to grandparent their four grandchildren; and they''re loving it. "Prayer and intimacy with God are essential elements in the life of the believer. Mike Landry communicates the importance of these elements through several well known personalities in key passages of scripture. I agree with Mike that God wants you to spend time with Him, and when God speaks to you, He will engrave that time into your memory. By reading Speed Bumps and applying the biblical principles presented, you will grow in your prayer life and relationship with the Lord."Dr. Charles Stanley, Senior Pastor, First Baptist AtlantaAtlanta, Georgia
