"Expertly structured to maintain interest and keep pages turning. The letters on my screen kept doubling and tripling through a sheen of standing tears, sometimes for sorrow, sometimes for joy. Dixie's story runs the spectrum of emotion from hilarity to tragedy; a deeply moving, experiential work. This is clearly the work of an experienced storyteller. This is a solid, well-written book." - Xulon Press How did I go from living in a large ten room country home to living and working in the inner city of Lexington, Kentucky? The path my life took led me through times of deep sorrow as I grieved my young husband's death, to times of great joy as I experienced God answering prayer after prayer in the miraculous provision of a 33,000 square foot building that became known as The Christ Center. Many people tell their story of going from rags to riches. My journey took me from a place of having every material thing I could dream of to a place of absolute dependence upon God to provide even my next meal. This book is about the many unexpected turns and bends in the road I've taken as I've journeyed through life. It's about many of the experiences I've had and lessons I've learned along the way. But more than that, it is about the faithfulness of God and how He meets people where they are living in whatever season of life they are experiencing. This book is my testimony of God's faithfulness in answering prayer. Dixie resides with her husband of 47 years, Jim, in San Jose, California. Over the years they have enjoyed an active life of hiking, bike riding, camping and spending time with their three married daughters, son-in-laws and six adult grandchildren.
Can God really love me the way the Bible tells me He does? What is a woman's heart all about? Why is she so emotional? Why is she insecure? Why doesn't my husband understand me? If you have ever asked these questions about God, yourself, or your spouse, then this book is for you. The pages of this book are full of Biblical truths on the love that God has for us. This book will inspire you to be all you can be in Jesus. After you read this book you will understand why you are different than your spouse, how very much God loves you, and why you have struggled with insecurity (if you have). We all need to understand each other. We cannot give away what we do not have. Through Jesus we have forgiveness, unconditional love, and grace. Once we see these things, believe them, and receive them we will be a new person. Then in turn, we can give these things away to our spouses and others. May the truths in this book supernaturally change you from the inside out. My prayer is this: That you believe and receive the amazing, unconditional, overwhelming love God has for you! Jennifer and her husband, Jay, live in the Fort Worth area. They are members and in leadership at Living Word Teaching Center in New Fairview, Texas. They have three sons, two daughters-in-law, two granddaughters, and one grandson. Jennifer is a multi-published author. Jay and Jennifer's desire is for people to understand, believe, and receive the fullness of God's unconditional, unwavering, and unending love. Their desire and goal is to impact the world with the love of Jesus! God is opening doors for Jay and Jennifer to go out and minister and share the gospel and the love of Jesus.
In their book "The AAU Wasteland," Coach Dave Taylor and Eli Gonzalez pull back the rug on the AAU and no one is safe, whether they are players, coaches, parents, the NCAA, the NBA, or major shoe companies. Far too many young, influential, and talented basketball players put their hopes into this broken system, only to become non-functioning members of society. However, there is hope! Coach Taylor and Mr. Gonzalez provide a solution that can make the sport of basketball a pure journey to enrich lives once again. If anyone can speak on the current realities of the AAU, it's Dave Taylor. He has played both high school and college basketball. He has coached Division I basketball for four years and was a head varsity basketball coach at the high school level for fifteen years in California. Taylor has been coaching high profile AAU teams and running camps for youngsters with exceptional talent for over twenty years. He currently runs the NATIONAL Jr. Phenom Camp since it started over ten years ago and has also been involved with national AAU programs such as Double Pump and the West Coast All-Star camp for decades. He oversees camps all across the country and has gone to Tokyo, Australia, Beijing, Singapore, and other countries to teach and coach the game of basketball. He will soon run the Plumlee Big Man Camps and other camps for NBA players. He was a character in and was a source of information for the New York Times Best Seller "Play Their Hearts Out" and is featured in the basketball documentary Hoop Dreams 2. Dave Taylor either directly coached or had in his camps current NBA players such as James Hardin, Carlos Boozer, Paul George, Clay Thompson, Drue Holiday, John Wall, Trevor Ariza, Gilbert Arenas, Mike Dunleavey Jr, the Lopez twins, and many more. Eli Gonzalez is a contracted ghostwriter for Xulon Press who previously coached a high school varsity boy's basketball team. Together they intricately weave a story of innocence lost, peppered with stories of NBA legends, and advice from Coach John Wooden. It also includes Coach Taylor's advice to players, parents, and coaches on leveraging the sport to a better future.

"My Knight in an Eighteen Wheeler" Everyone runs into lots of surprises, both good and bad. How we deal with, and live out, the surprises, is called 'life'. This book is about life, my life! Being thrown from being with someone 3 days a week to 24/7 can be a challenge. Running a business can be difficult until you work out who is responsible for what tasks. Not everyone is capable or willing to act on the motto " the customer is always right." Often it is necessary to take turns having a bad day when dealing with the public and employees who stretch the rules as far as possible. Somebody has got to be able to 'take it' on the chin and still smile. This book shows how much fun life can be when you're madly in love with your partner.

Have you ever felt like your invitation to the head table of success was lost in the mail? That the only way you will ever experience wealth and prosperity is to hit some CEO over the head, grab their brass ring and make a run for it? Yeah I know, you probably think I'm crazy but how many times have you said, Lord will it ever be my turn? Throughout my 28 years in Corporate America, 8 companies, 10 managers, 12 job titles and 15 cubicle changes not once have I experienced a seat at the head table. However, I was always allowed to collect the crumbs that fell. Some pieces were big chunks while others were so minuscule you would need a microscope just to see them. But that didn't stop me from dreaming. That didn't stop me from working hard just to finally be asked to move from catching the crumbs to dropping them. So how do you break through? Let's look back at the people who dropped the crumbs, where they fell and how I used them. Armed with that information, I'm sure you'll understand how I came to say, No Thanks...I Don't Want Yo Crumbs". The book The Christian Abuser demonstrates how some Baptist and evangelical men misquote Ephesians 5:22-23 and lift the passage from its context in order to justify defining the wife's reality and practicing both verbal and physical abuse. The Biblical concept of headship is explored by the author, and he draws upon years of counseling experience to show there is hope for change in abusive relationships." Saved in 1955 at age fourteen, Guy Goodell has been preaching consistently from that time until now, almost sixty years. Upon graduation from high school, he served in the United States Air Force, working with the Chaplains in providing voluntary Bible studies in the barracks. While in Colorado, he earned the A.A. equivalent from the College of the Air Force, majoring in radar technology. In 1960, he enrolled at Tennessee Temple University to prepare for expanded ministry, finishing his tour of military duty in the Air Force Reserve in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After completing the B.A. degree, Guy and his family moved to Texas where he attended Dallas Theological Seminary in the fall and spring, studying at North Texas State University in the summers. Guy completed the M.A. in English at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and the Ph.D. in Christian Counseling at Landmark Baptist College. He did additional post graduate studies at the University of Kentucky, Kentucky State University, Carson-Newman University, and the State University of New York. As a pastor, Guy established The Strength for Living Counseling Center fifty years ago and integrated counseling into his pastoral ministry. He has served as a counselor and as trainer of counselors for fifty years, working with judges, police, emergency medical personnel, pastors, evangelists, missionaries, and their respective families. Under the Reagan Administration, Guy was one of three hundred pastors who met with the President and accepted the responsibility of smuggling millions of Bibles into the Soviet Union. Guy worked with Dr. Bob Billings, a staff member of President Reagan, and incorporated "Bibles for Russia" for purposes of raising funds for printing the Bible in the Russian language. Guy still operates Bibles for Russia, helping develop ministries, serve pastors, and promote youth camps in Russia and former Soviet states. He helped establish Bible Schools in Russia, the Ukraine, and Romania.
Augusto received salvation in 1963 and became a member of the Worldwide Church of God a year later. When Garner Ted was ousted in the late '70's, she and her pastor husband were expelled from the ministry and church for refusing to accept a bribe to "just keep your mouth shut" about Herbert Armstrong's sexual improprieties and misuse of money and power. Disillusioned with the hypocrisy and discrepancies of religion she went to the Source of all truth and prayed: "Father in heaven, You are God; You sent Your Son to die for my sins; You resurrected Him and He now sits at Your right hand. Beyond this, I know nothing, teach me!" She soon learned the "Plain Truth" about speaking in tongues! The Armstrong's taught speaking in tongues was demonic. In truth, according to Mark 16:17, speaking in tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit! One day, while worshipping in tongues, she wondered what she was saying and heard herself say, "I will do the mighty deeds of Jesus! Glory to God! Hallelujah! Who? Me?" She assumed attending a bible school was in order but quickly changed her mind when the Spirit informed her He was teaching her! In 2003 she enrolled in Christian Life School of Theology to satisfy requirements of man in order to obtain a ministerial degree and license. When she graduated in 2004 she sensed she was not only graduating from the Christian Life School of Theology taught by man but also from the Christian Life School of Theology taught by the Holy Spirit! She was baptized with Holy Fire During a "visitation" in 1995. (Luke 3:16) She manifests all the ministry gifts and exhibits strong faith and boldness in the Holy Spirit. This is Augusto's first book.
I hear it all of the time, "This has been the greatest experience of my life." It could be someone talking about an overseas trip to some exotic island, a great golfing and fishing excursion to some place around the world, a cruise to some unusual place on the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean, or someone meeting a personality who has made them have "goose bumps," because they saw them or got an autograph. We hope everyone has some great memories of special events in their lives and the joy they received from those life experiences. In this book, we will share a great passage from the Bible where Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." As a result of my own heart being changed, the real truth became my "Life's Greatest Experience." As you read, allow God to fill your heart and mind with some of the wonderful treasures made available to every person in the world. Nothing or anyone is impossible with God. You can have "Life's Greatest Experience," today! Jim Jamieson has had the great opportunity to pastor for several years, be involved in evangelistic outreach meetings, hosted a Christian television program, served with India Gospel Outreach and made several trips to India with Valson Abraham. I AM MAGI could be his royal highness, King Balthazar's story. He was a seeker of truth and believed in the coming king who would rise up and shift the power and might from Rome to his own kingdom. His kingdom would be great beyond any other and endure forever; there would be peace, no disease, and no hunger; he would rule as King of kings. Balthazar has now been summoned by the heavens to welcome this divine king. He and two other magi leave their opulent palaces to go on an epic journey that will lead through the most dangerous places and kingdoms on earth. "What kind of king is able to direct the heavens? What can I offer him in friendship?" Balthazar Rhonda Quillin, by day, is the editor for the Department of Tactics at the US Army Command and General Staff College. Otherwise, she writes fiction. "The title Are You a Christian or a Disciple? boldly addresses a question that has ultimate implications for every Christ Follower, and which God seems to be pushing into the center of today's global "Christian" conversation. Well researched and presented, this book is going to challenge thinking about what it means to be a disciple-- nothing less than a fully devoted follower of Jesus! Ed Gross has given the church a very timely, provocative, and practical resource!" Jerry Trousdale - author of the best-selling book: Miraculous Movements: How Hundreds of Thousands of Muslims are Falling in Love with Jesus "With an authentic love for the church and a rigorous commitment to Biblical study, Ed takes on the task of showing us how we have lost the true meaning of discipleship, replacing it with a comfortable-living brand of Christianity that ignores how Jesus taught his disciples to be and to make disciples. This book may challenge long held notions of effective evangelism, missions, ministry, and discipleship. I've seen, in several places around the world, the 1st century brand of explosive disciple-making that Ed talks about. Can it happen here? That may depend on how we respond to the question, Are You a Christian or a Disciple?" - Dr. Dave Hunt - VP Disciple Making Movements in the Americas - CityTeam International "When Ed preaches, he preaches even to the point of tears. In this book Dr. Gross passionately pleads that you, I, the whole church will take the Word of God at face value, particularly Jesus' command to make disciples." Dr. Robert Styer, Professor of Mathematics and Statistics, Director of the Comprehensive Science Program, Villanova University Edward N Gross (DMis-Trinity Evangelical Divinity School) is Coordinator of Strategic Alliances with CityNet Ministries in Philadelphia, PA. He has served in missions, church planting, pastoral ministry and theological education in the USA and abroad. He teaches at Back to the Bible Training College in South Africa. Ed has been married to his wife Debby for 37 years.
Why Pray? What is it about the nature of reality that makes it necessary to pray? Is the future of the world fixed, or can prayer change the course of history? Are there some things that will not happen because we did not pray? If the will of God is always done, is there any need to pray at all? Joel A'Bell, Lead Pastor at Hillsong Church in Australia, comments: "I have been deeply impacted by Michael's resources - both previous books and his teaching on the atonement. Many people have given voice to the subject of prayer; how, when & what it looks like, but I have not yet heard anyone explain Why Pray - not like this. Michael has a thorough grasp of scripture and the surrounding themes that relate to such a topic as this. I have noticed my own conversations with the Lord changing as a result of this book. I have become more aware of God's presence and His desire to be involved in my daily situations. My prayer is that God will ignite a fire within you to know Him in a greater way so that you will understand Why Pray? " Peter Warren, Southwest USA Director of Youth With A Mission, says: "Prayer changes things." I grew up hearing people say this. And then one day I began to question if prayer could actually change outcomes. Did it have the power to alter the course of history, or are we simply doing it because the Bible tells us to, but ultimately, it has no real impact on the world in which we live? Mike's book addresses this question head on. It is the best exposition I have ever read that answers the question, "Why pray?" Why Pray? will revolutionize your prayer life, and, if you're anything like me, you'll gain a new motivation to partner with God to forge change for the good in this broken and hurting world. Dean Harvey, Pastor, Teacher, and Missionary with Youth With a Mission, observes: "Michael R. Saia's book, Why Pray? is a theological feast. I think the theological aspect of prayer is more important to me as a pastor and teacher. I myself have had a hard time with prayer at times, specifically because of some of the issues Saia raises. I can't think of a single question I have had about the theology of prayer in the last 61 years which Saia did not address. I believe he is one of the best theologians of our time. I heartlily recommend Why Pray? It needs to be read by all serious Christians." Michael R. Saia had a teaching ministry as a missionary for seventeen years. He and his wife traveled extensively, teaching in missionary training schools, churches, and seminars. Mike is a published author with a book on counseling that won the "Book of the Year" award from Cornerstone magazine. Mike also authored Does God Know the Future?, Understanding the Cross, and Why Do the Innocent Suffer? Mike, his wife, Carol, and their son, Michael, live in Washington State.
Why Do the Innocent Suffer? If God is loving and powerful, why did He allow suffering to exist? If God is all loving, and all powerful, couldn't He stop all suffering? Why are innocent children born deformed? Why are there wars? What about tornadoes, earthquakes, and tsunamis? Doesn't God care about all the people who are suffering in the world? Peter Warren, Southwest USA Director of Youth With A Mission, says: I love Mike's passion to defend the Character of God and how he backs up every single point with the Word of God. The fact that he does this, instead of simply giving his own ideas or impressions, gives great authority to what he is saying. So many young people, which is the bulk of those I work with, have grown up with deep misunderstandings and questions about God's love when they see innocent people suffering. Very few of them have had any Biblically-based teaching on the subject. I wish every single one of them could read this book! Dean Harvey, Pastor, Teacher, and Missionary with Youth With a Mission, observes: Why Do The Innocent Suffer? is the most comprehensive discussion of this topic I have ever seen. Saia compares the various religious and philosophical reasons offered to answer this question, then solves the problem with a thoroughly Biblical answer. We might summarize the message of the book as an answer to the question of Moses in Genesis 18:25, "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" Mike's thorough exegesis of the book of Job is a highlight of the book, and would serve every pastor and teacher very well. Michael R. Saia had a teaching ministry as a missionary for seventeen years. He and his wife traveled extensively, teaching in missionary training schools, churches, and seminars. Mike is a published author with a book on counseling that won the "Book of the Year" award from Cornerstone magazine. Mike also authored Does God Know the Future?, Understanding the Cross, and Why Pray? Mike, his wife, Carol, and their son, Michael, live in Washington State.

Hello, My name is Carolyn McMahel. I am married to Duane, my beloved husband of nearly 43 years. Between the two of us we have five living children, over 13 grandchidren and over 5 great grandchildren. I am a firm believer in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I also have a deep desire to love on people from all over the world. One way that I can accomplish this is to get my books of poetry to people that need an uplift in spirit and a loving touch. I give the Holy Spirit credit for the words in each book, because several years ago, I ask Him to give me the words and I believe He did. I pray the words of this book and my other one will be a blessing from God and a blessing to God. May you feel His love and His touch. Thanks to God, my family and friends for loving me and thanks to you Jim, my son for the tremendous help you have given me in many ways in getting this book ready for publishing. God bless you all. All the glory goes to God. With love and prayer, Carolyn McMahel
Conflict is serious and needs the church's serious attention. Every eight hours a pastor is terminated. Every year over a thousand churches disband; often because of conflict. Supported by over thirty years of academic research and based on real-life experiences in ministry, Conflict: Causes and Cures presents practical perspectives, solutions, and resources for dealing with conflicted churches. Dr. Smith shares the top ten causes of conflict in a lively case study format and discusses three necessary approaches to conflict-education, mediation, and restoration. Complete with scripture references and biblical applications, Conflict: Causes and Cures is essential reading for those who are concerned about this critical problem that confronts our churches today. ENDORSEMENTS "Dr. Smith has provided a manual for recognizing and resolving conflict. His biblical, yet practical solutions will help leaders and followers alike to better deal with contentious people and problematic situations." Jerry Fulton, Editor of Baptist Progress "I have known Dr. Mike Smith for about 35 years. In my 40 years of experience of serving as Chairman of the Deacons, Church Personnel Chairman and, concerned church member I have never run across a book that spoke so openly and honestly about church conflict in which this complex subject is presented in user-friendly terms. This book is an excellent resource for understanding the causes and cures of conflicts. I recommend it to every church and pastor dealing with church conflicts."
