  • - A Higher Place of Praise
    av Crystal Mikell
    153,-

These questions will forever shake our souls: Where will sin lead? What does God require of sinners? What was in the heart of God when he created me? God requires acceptance and belief in His son Jesus Christ and repentance of sin. If repentance never comes it will lead to a place outside of His heart, a place he never created for us. The call is to all and the call is for all.

"Traci the Post Office just called and said your sister is having a breakdown." These were the words my Mother said to me when she called me that day five years ago. When I heard these words, I had no idea at the time what this would mean for my sister and our entire family. My youngest sister would eventually be diagnosed with bi-polar disorder and her refusal to accept the diagnosis would lead her to the edge of madness. "From Shattered to Redeemed" is the book of one sister's fight of faith to help bring her sister back from a mind shattered with mental illness. Read and see how God brought her out of the darkness of mental illness into His marvelous light of healing. Traci Bradford-Walker is a first time author and heard God tell her one March day in 2014 that it was "time to write the book." She has a Master's and Doctorate Degree from Aspen Christian College and is a Minister at Emmanual Christian Center. Traci has been married for thirteen wonderful years and lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband. She and her sister Gabby remain very close and it was with her sister's permission that she was able to write her story.

When we read the story of Job in the Bible, it is hard not to wonder how he was able to remain loyal to God when everything was going wrong. The same is evident in the life of Jesus, expressed through the gospels, where we ponder how Jesus can remain faithful to God while going through the crucifixion. Yet in the new Bible commentary, Job and Jesus -The Purpose of God and the Ways of God, author Ajibola Olaojo shows what these two personas of the Bible reveal of God's ways and purposes. Through handling trials in life, Job and Jesus both bare witness to the benefits of suffering, primarily in how the loving God won't abandon His children in any circumstance. Ajibola creates separate sections devoted to Job and Jesus, allowing the commentaries to unveil God's purposes and the miraculous legacies left by both of His children for others.

Homosexuality is arguably today's most controversial issue. Some people believe the following: God approves of homosexuality, people are born "gay," both same-sex parenting and "gay marriage" are harmless, and anyone who disagrees is "homophobic." Others believe the polar opposite. Ironically, while millions of Christians are reversing their position and embracing homosexuality, millions of "homosexuals" are reversing their position and renouncing it! So who is deceived and who is not? Whose beliefs are factual and whose are fictional? The answers can be found by examining the facts. Unfortunately, in today's progressive culture, facts are overshadowed by political correctness and popular opinion. Homosexuality, however, is not a matter of opinion; it is a matter of life and death. In addition to suffering from bullying and contracting STDs at astonishing rates, "gays" all over the world are being murdered, committing suicide, and dying from AIDS by the million. Further, if what the Bible says is true, there is eternity to consider. Given this, as Christians we cannot forsake correctness for political correctness. We cannot afford to be naive, confused, or silent on this issue, especially when lives and souls hang in the balance. Knowing and sharing the truth about homosexuality is more important now than ever before. So whether you wrestle with unanswered questions, you have loved ones you long to help, or you personally struggle with homosexuality, this is the book for you. There is help and there is hope in the truth. In The Truth about Homosexuality Bruce Smith Jr. tackles the most controversial themes, distinguishes fact from fiction, and answers critical questions such as: - Is homosexuality a sin? - Can a homosexual go to heaven? - What is the true Christian position on homosexuality? - Is it possible to overcome homosexuality? BRUCE SMITH JR., founder of Purity Quest Ministries, is a Christian virgin with a tremendous passion for God, sexual purity, and people of all walks of life. Bruce is an author, speaker, and apologist who is dedicated to studying and defending the Word of God. Bruce is the eldest son of a Bible-teaching pastor. He is a stickler for truth and a proponent of godliness in every area of life.

The Bible says more, by far, about "words spoken and heard" than any other topic. How we speak is near and dear to the heart of God. He has made us in His image and likeness by both creation and the new birth. Our mouths, lips and tongues can and should express that likeness to God more than any other member of our physical body. That is the design and desire of God. For God's children to sound like Him is not only possible through God, but is expected by Him. Every person, including believers, will give account for every idle, careless word spoken. That is a stern warning from Jesus Himself. These idle words do not connect with the eighty plus forms of godly speech presented in this book. Those idle words displace godly speech and work against the plan and will of God. That is one of the reasons why those words are so offensive to God. The kingdom of God is "word activated". We are saved by our words, not our works. We are forgiven and cleansed by our words. Our life course is according to the words we speak, whether good or bad. How much power do our words have? God tells us that the power of death and life are in the tongue. That is no exaggeration. Nor are the thirty one principles of Godly speech presented in this book. Our lives, those of our spouses and children, our brothers and sisters in Christ, and those of every other person God sends to us demand that we use this power of life in leading them to a closer walk with God. Jesus said "the mouth always speaks of that which fills the heart." There is a powerful heart and mouth connection.

Misconceptions about the Bible are plentiful, from how Jesus is depicted to whether certain events did happen in real life. A much-debated aspect of the Bible is whether certain tribes/people in the Bible were of the black race. In the new historical book by author John Onyeka, African Lineage in Biblical History, the belief of Africans in the Bible is strongly supported through timelines of biblical events and biblical figures. John desires for readers to see God as a God to all races, where we are created in His image and resembling qualities of Jesus. He delves into the origins of the African heritage through the lineage of Noah''s sons, Ham and Shem, then tracing their ancestry further into people of Ethiopia, African Egyptians and those in Canaan, Israel. Being an African-American pastor himself, John wants all to see the African race is as important to God as other races.

Modern Christian teaching is questioned head on and will make any bible student stop and think. John documents his revelations with miracles and signs and spiritual growth. John always gives the Bible the respect of being the Word of God but raises many questions of modern Christian interpretation. Your questions, especially those you hesitate to ask are probably addressed herein. You are asked to open your mind to change and be ready to look at Bible truth in such a way as to remove apparent discrepancies. The objective is to be able to see the gospel as it is, GOOD NEWS without an asterisk.

There is something life-changing in your "YES." Joseph, the Biblical Character, discovered this reality when he answered the invitation to a life of meaning and impact. With a dream from God and a "YES" in his heart, he would go on to bring salvation to a nation that was on the edge of utter destruction. His dreams would become a reality. Joseph made this resolve to say "yes" at the young age of seventeen, but the journey was far from over. He would later discover that walking in purpose can, at times, look like life in a palace. And in a moment, that palace can turn into a prison. His "YES" would have to stand strong in every season. The question you must ask yourself is: "will I say YES to God?" It's the most important statement you can ever make and its implications will impact generations to come, but you must choose for yourself whether your life will matter or remain mundane. A "YES" is never a call to ordinary. God is raising up a generation of young leaders who will refuse the easy path and pursue their purpose, no matter the cost that lies before them. It's time to be who you were called to be. It's time to answer the call to a life of meaning. It's time to say "YES."

"THE LIFE JOURNEY of A SOUL" is about the author starting from his birth on the Feast of the Transfiguration of Christ, a clue of what was to come.At the age of 8, while spending a year in an orphanage, he hears his first calling to be a servant of Christ. Over the years to follow he continues to hear Christ calling him. I served at the altar all through elementary and high school and for a few years after school. In 1968, I joined the U.S. Air Force, where I trained to be a Chaplain Services Specialist. I spent a short time in Viet Nam during the war, where I became sick and was sent back to the states. It was determined years later I had been exposed to Agent Orange, which explains the serious health issues that developed.Later, after I was discharged from the service, I met a young nurse and we eventually got married. We had twin daughters just after our third anniversary.  The marriage lasted eleven years and was eventually annulled by the church. While working in Germany for the Army, as an RN, I visited the Church of the Fourteen Saints. While praying I heard the voice of Our Blessed Mother, for the first time, asking me to start a religious order. After many years of delay, I finally started The Franciscan Friars of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We are looking for a place to build our first Friary so I can start accepting some of the 19 applicants we have already.Your prayers and financial assistance from donors and benefactors are needed to help the order grow, train the Friars and serve those we have been called to serve.  We are a 501(c)3 approved organization.Your help will be prayerfully appreciated. Be assured of the daily prayers of the FFBVM. God Bless you all.

He wondered himself several times, as he recalls his life story in his published pastor testimony, Alone Have Escaped to Tell Thee… Life began on a difficult note for Dr. Kavara Gee while growing up in South Carolina, as he witnessed verbal abuse between his parents that escalated to physical abuse from his reverend father. He wasn't immune from the abuse either, as his mother verbally abused him and he was molested as a child. Once he felt called to preach at thirteen, the struggles continued as he questioned his identity as a man, endured rejection from the church and became a teenage father. However, Dr. Gee depended on God to get through and remain in his calling to preach Jesus’ love and redemption to others.
