One weekend in the fall of September 2014, I was asked to be one of the panelist speakers at a women's retreat. The topic was Create in Me a Clean Heart: The Lesson focus was on Psalms 51. That Saturday afternoon as we began the panel discussions; as I sat alongside the other panelist listening as each note was read from anonymous writers. It was clear to see that amidst of all the R&R; there were some hurting women there with some real life issues whose hearts needed healing. But little did I know, that, that weekend would be the catalyst for me writing my first book. My intended focus was on King David (only), his public fall from grace and the redemptive power of God's love; But, God had another focus as you will read in the pages of this book. No matter what we have done, God has already did what He did.

Daniel Jerkins was born in Newtonville, New Jersey. He was one of thirteen children. Early in life he learned the values of determination, dedication and discipline. Even though he constantly sought the approval of his father, it was known throughout his family as being very special to his mother. It was his mother's love that allowed him to understand the unconditional love that Jesus Christ has for us all. During his youth, he developed a strong relationship with God. He pursued the love of God passionately until it lead him to his purpose - ministry. By the time he was 15 years old, he preached his first sermon in a local church. Through his young adult life, Daniel dealt with a spiritual tug of war. As he pursued the purpose of the kingdom of God, he fought with the stronghold within his own flesh. Determined to win the war against his flesh and exemplify the word of God in his heart, he has become an evangelist for ordinary people. Daniel has overcome most of the obstacles the Enemy has tried to put in his way. His desire to help others be free and to walk in the direction God has for them makes Daniel truly a grateful man; his gratitude is shown by his genuine love for others. Daniel has served on the board of Love Ministries International and he has been the Chaplain for Father's Artists and Christian Dance Fellowship. Daniel's gentle spirit and humble heart has positioned him to be a part of various ministries that have been geared toward prayer and healing. He served as the Director for the Potter's House Hospital Ministry for over 12 years. He is currently a member of the Prayer Ministry at Trinity Church in Cedar Hill, Texas. After graduating from Florida State University, she married and began the life of a military wife. Eventually there were five sons and a lot of ball games, scratched limbs, homework and many good times as they grew up. This was the training needed to look into the lives of young people and give guidance, acceptance, and encouragement in order that they achieve success in life and reach their potential. Today she resides in the family home, volunteering her time to help others wherever she sees a need. Her favorite passage of scripture is Romans 8:28.

Godly Inspirational Love contains rhyming religious poetry that reflects my daily walk with my Lord Jesus. When I see His mighty works and experience His saving grace, He inspires me to write of His compassion, love and redeeming grace. We serve an awesome God who is worthy of our praise and glorification. I strive to glorify, praise and thank Him in all poetry that I write. My ministry to others is writing poetry about our Lord and Savior. I have been writing poetry since childhood and am inspired to write it when at high points or low points in life and especially when I need a special touch from Jesus.My poetry reflects my daily walk with my Savior. Jan Hurst is a widow, mother, and retired executive, who built a business career over 30 very eclectic years in multiple business disciplines. She and her husband, Steve, were married 44 years, the first 24 years following his Air Force career. They had two daughters, who both became accomplished professional women and dedicated wives and mothers. Jan enjoyed her early marriage as a homemaker, until their younger daughter started school. As returning adult students, Jan and Steve both completed college while working and supporting a family. Once Steve retired from the Air Force, Jan began her career, no longer having the interruptions of moving and job hopping. She continued her education to earn an MBA and PhD in Business Administration Management. Jan focused on a personal ministry in business to lead organizations and share management approaches to incorporate Christian values. Having grown up as an Air Force dependent, her passion was to show people that clicks and good ol' boy approaches are not as productive or rewarding. She and her husband were both passionate about helping others and worked to live as they believed. They shared a special respect and admiration for each other up until the day they were parted. Jan is a witness willing to share her faith, love of God, and story. Losing her husband did not diminish her faith. Her faith has strengthened.

Before answering Gods call on Michael's life, he was hopelessly addicted to life destroying drugs for nearly a decade. After entering into a Christian Recovery Center in 2004, Michael encountered the powerful love of Jesus. All of his chains of addiction were finally broken. Following his completion of the program, God called Michael to school, where he met his wife, Amber Thornton. In May of 2012, both Amber and Michael graduated from Regent University. He holds a Masters degree in Public Administration/Non-profit Organizations. During this time, God began to stir in Michael's heart the flames of revival. God quickly opened some amazing doors, and Michael was able to share his story amongst hundreds of different churches and organizations. His testimony was even featured on the 700 Club. Continuing to follow the call for a national and global spiritual awakening, the Lord led Michael to re-dig the ancient wells of revival in North Carolina. I had plans. Big plans. I was going to be an accomplished actor or commercial artist. I can't say my plans failed, they just went down a different path and I have been blessed with a wonderful job and four beautiful children, a Godly wife and, as of this writing, seven grandsons. In all the blessings of life, God saw to it to give me great subjects to write about. Fitting writing into my life was an incredible thing in itself. Inspiration would come to me after an event or happening and I just couldn't wait to sit down and allow God to let the words flow through my fingers. I couldn't feel more blessed .I just hope the inspiration I felt when writing these poems would give someone else knowledge that some of the things they are going through, others have felt too... Kids, Love, Faith, Aging Parents, Divorce and others are apart of all of our lives. This is the lighted path that God has given me so far. Let's walk.These poems are available on CD. In this modern-day society, he would let us know that the wages of sin is still death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. As a pastor, he was the epitome of leadership. He always took time to compliment and encourage the little children, as he often did when he acknowledged their accomplishments. He was a man of character, integrity, dignity and honesty. His niece, E. Faye Wright, gave these expressions: "My Uncle Dave was an amazing man. His greatest quality, to me, was how personable he was. He was a very quiet person, yet his very presence spoke volumes. His excitement, when bringing the Word, was like a ripple effect throughout the room.
