The book is about a retired engineer, Jim North, now a sailor on a small boat, who is trying for the first time in his life to follow the Lord''s leadership. He struggles to understand feelings of urgency, wondering whether they are from the Lord, or of his own carnal doing. He now resides with his wife Margaret in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Toni was born in the 1950's to depression era parents. She is one of four children. She currently lives with her husband of thirty-eight years and nine adopted children from three countries and her youngest biological daughter. Toni is a loving grandmother to twenty-two grandchildren and with only five of her eighteen children married at this time: she is looking forward to many more grandchildren in her future.
