Defeat Distractions... "God is using this book to have a Divine Appointment with you to stay focused on the path on which He is guiding you. Stay focused: "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Psalms 119:105 KJV). Ever walked down a dark path on a foggy, moonless, starless night? You took your flashlight and shined it ahead of you hoping to see what was before you. However, nothing could be clearly seen. So, you had to shine the light down on the path right in front of you. You focused on one step at a time. You knew that if you were distracted and veered off to the right or the left you could stumble and fall. "Stay focused. Resist distractions. Move forward with God's purpose for your life. This book will empower you to defeat distractions, resist temptation, and focus on Jesus Christ daily in your spiritual walk with God." -Jesse Thomas Jesse Thomas has scars and a testimony which are proof of his overcoming the distractions of life and liberation from the many labels that didn't deter him, derail him, or divert him. Now he shares with the world a resource of transparency coupled with the "Glorious Gospel" to give others a guide back on the road of life to a newer and next level of: FOCUS! -Dr. Jamison Hunter Pastor, Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Dayton, Ohio Reverend Jesse E. Thomas is the Pastor of the Shiloh Baptist Church of Boston, VA, the ministry that is Encouraging, Empowering, and Edifying Disciples. Rev. This unique book provides hope, inspiration and a pathway for victims of abuse to become true survivors, the Overcomers and More than Conquerors they were meant to be. One in three women will be a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime, and this is true even in the church. This interactive guide provides critical insight and direction that is Biblical and practical, written by someone who understands the issue from personal experience. Important information, skills, steps and strategies are explained along with real life examples so that the path to healing and strength is clear. It describes a process of healing from the emotional and spiritual devastation caused by abuse. And it offers help for parents who want to see their children set free from the generational cycle of domestic violence. This book is designed for women to read individually or as the curriculum for a support group. The goal is healing and transformation, emotionally and spiritually, for those who want to leave their victim identity in the past and move forward into a life of healthy relationships and freedom from abuse. There is a way to rise above the chaos, confusion and conflict. If you are a victim, be encouraged that you are not alone, and begin your journey to becoming a true survivor. Jody Cowdin, M.A., M.Ed., began her career as a public school teacher, and also became a therapist for children and their families. She went on to be an Associate Professor at a Christian University and later, the Executive Director of a Christian shelter for battered women and their children. She shares important insights and skills along with her personal story as inspiration to encourage other women to believe they too can find hope, healing and freedom from abuse. Jody states regarding domestic abuse, "If it could happen to me, it could happen to anyone" and her story of overcoming inspires others to believe, "If she can do it, so can I." Her first book for children and teens is titled A Kid's Guide to Understanding Domestic Abuse. Jody can be reached through her website at www.jodycowdin.com.

It all began with A New Birth. It's a new birth as you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior; it's a new birth that encourages you to know Him more personally; it's a new birth that prompts you to seek becoming a mentor to the newly baptized Christians in your church. A new birth is all it takes to begin a new chapter in your life as a believer in God and follower of Jesus, but what does it mean to be born-again in Jesus? Jennifer Milone also pondered such questions when she sought God and discovered the Holy Spirit was educating her on who God is and what being in a relationship with Him meant. The answers she received from the Holy Spirit created her collection of teaching topics for her new book, A New Birth: The Relationship with Jesus Christ. The goal of the book is to instill in readers a desire to converse with Jesus daily, building the relationship, as one would build a relationship with a spouse, child and/or friend. As Jennifer states, Christians, especially new believers, must be aware that there are many factors in the world today wanting to distance them from God instead of bringing them closer to Him. A wide variety of teaching topics are explored in A New Birth: not judging others, respecting the roles in marriage, understanding one's transformation in faith, being aware of God's presence in trials and learning how to develop one's relationship with God, while leading others to Him. Jennifer's guidance is given with conviction and comprehension of what battles a person may experience, both outwardly and inwardly, when he/she establishes a relationship with Christ. It's not just a new birth in Christ; it's a new existence shaped by the Savior, loved by God and led by the Holy Spirit.

  • - A 63 Day Recovery Program
    av Keith E Jackson Mft
    166,-

This book was written as a result of the many individuals I had the opportunity to treat who had addiction issues. As a Probation officer, Correctional Counselor and Psychotherapist, I would make referrals to various agencies to assist these individuals in their recovery. I also provided group and individual counseling for them. What I found to be most effective was the incorporation of the spiritual aspect of addiction. Addiction can portray itself in many different forms, but the spirit is the same. The principles found in this book will work with any form of addiction, because it addresses the problem at its inception. I have personally used this program to address some issues of addiction I had, so I know that it works. This program is biblical based using the Word of God as its foundation, but is also includes neuro-psychology. It my belief that God has created us to have dominion in our life, with this knowledge we can empower ourselves to overcome any situation or circumstance. By using the Word of God, exercising your faith in the promises of God, and following the strategies in this book; you will release the prisoner within so that you can experience the freedom Jesus has made possible for you.

One fact is clear today: we live in a self-centered world. Young Christians often want to live up to God's purpose for them, but the pressure brought on by friends, relationships, the media, and future plans make it hard to always choose the virtuous, peaceful path that will lead them toward God. Thankfully, there is a way to develop a Christ-centered life, and it all starts with focusing on God's Word. In his life-changing book, Rick Flores shares what he has learned in his years as a youth pastor about the hurdles young Christians face, and what they can do to keep their eyes on the life they want. He invites readers to think about some of the most important decisions they will every make: - Who will you serve? - What voice will guide your life? - What will you do when faced with temptation? - How will you prepare for love and marriage? - What kind of legacy will you leave? Young Christians will discover decision points to guide their lives and will learn to consider the long-term when weighing consequences. Perfect for personal growth or group studies and classrooms, young men and women will also realize the wealth of insight and guidance available in God's Word. Turn your focus toward Christ, and change your life today!

For centuries, the ability to identify the Beast and the false prophet who are mentioned in the Books of Daniel and the Revelation has eluded Bible scholars. Now, as the end of this age approaches and Christ's return draws near, many answers concerning the prophetic Beast of Revelation and the False Prophet have been revealed. An understanding of the books of Daniel and Revelation is important because they were recorded for those living in the tumultuous time just before the return of Jesus Christ. If indeed this is the prophetic time spoken of in these two books, an understanding of these prophecies is a matter of life or death. The Beast is the leader of a governmental system that will control an alliance of nations, which will exist for a short time just before Christ's return. It is a system that merges religion and government in such a way that it gives those who administer it absolute authority, power, and control over all religious, philosophical, economic, and political aspects of the lives of people who come under its control. Paul observed, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places." Ephesians. 6:12.

"This book is about the call for much-needed development of a future generation of young leaders and the organizational strategies to serve them... It is a plea to move forward toward an intentional, relational, relevant and experiential discipleship and leadership." --Dr. Jesse Miranda, Executive Presbyter, General Council of the Assemblies of God "In Dare to Empower, Maynor Morales puts, as we say in Spanish, 'his finger in the wound.' Are you a believer? A skeptic? An atheist? When you watch the sun tuck itself behind the ocean or the mountains, do you see God? Or instead, do you see a randomly designed universe spilling into a vast array of nothingness? If you conclude that there is a god or a superior force that put the universe into motion, do you credit the God of the Christian Bible? Is there any validity to those Old Testament stories? Did the walls of Jericho simply collapse? Did Jonah live three days inside the belly of a fish? What about the New Testament and all of those "so called" questionable miracles performed by Jesus? Is Jesus really God? Applying science, history and archeology, this book explores the possibility of a creator God, a Christian God and a personal God. If you are an atheist, an agnostic or a skeptic, I invite you to take my dare. Explore your beliefs, as I have explored mine. Consider those beliefs from a scientific and historical perspective. If you are a Christian, then likewise, I dare you to engage your own beliefs while reading. The simple fact is that whether you are a Christian believer or not, nobody wants to believe in a lie. Where ever you find yourself on the spectrum of belief, I trust that this book will prove itself as a useful tool in guiding you towards spiritual truth. So, go ahead...I DARE YOU. --Greg Bennett

This Informative book will help the reader to gain a more accurate view of the many aspects of Domestic Violence. Many in today's world seem to think that Domestic Violence is merely hitting or battering an individual. In truth, it is much more. Domestic Violence can escalate from controlling behaviors to full physical violence over a span of time. There is no magic formula with which to gauge how long this will take. For me it took many, many years. However, in spite of my counseling education, I remained oblivious to all the facets until I finally woke up.It takes a lot of guts and fortitude to leave an abusive situation; however, many never seem to manage it. The steps I took are within the pages of this book along with suggested further reading. Every person knows someone who is living with Domestic Violence in one form or another. Here are steps to help self and others learn to live a healthy and 'normal' life. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Anna Jean Gaissert is a Retired Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 28 years of experience in all areas of counseling. She has worked with School Systems, Mental Health Agencies, Drug Advisory Board, Served on Juvenile Court Panel, and Lead Support/Recovery Groups for churches and community. Serving on Crisis Response teams has also been part of her counseling career and she worked closely with the families of the 1996 Olympic Bombing tragedy in Atlanta. She has also written for professional journals and published two books for use in the education setting. Now retired, she spends her time in volunteer work with her church and community and is now a Stephen Minister - a position which is an extension her counseling career.

  • av Joan Ottulich
    204

Elementary school teacher and Sunday School teacher, Joan Ottulich, originally from Montana and now living in Upstate New York, has always felt called to enter the evangelistic ministry. She traveled with Marilyn Hickey to Israel where she felt a special call of God for Israel. Upon returning Joan began to study Hebrew and became drawn to understanding the prophecies Jesus fulfilled. As the Lord continued to lead her in understanding the heart of the Hebrew children, she became aware that within their Tanakh, were prophesies of Jesus beginning 1500 years before He was born. Desiring to reach the Jew first and then the gentile, she began putting together fulfilled scriptures for her own use which culminated in the Witnessing Tool-Fulfilled Prophecies of Jesus Christ. It is her desire that all men come to know Jesus Christ and her hope that through this book they may become convinced that Jesus is truly the Messiah all men seek.

The Antichrist will be an Assyrian. From the vision of Balaam in Numbers, to Psalm 83, to the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Zechariah, and others, the Bible gives one clear message-the Antichrist will be an Assyrian who rules over an Assyrian kingdom. The current trend away from a "Roman Prince" to a "Muslim" Antichrist appears to be based on current news reports and human reasoning, and not on Biblical facts. This book shows from the Holy Scriptures that the Antichrist will be an Assyrian from a revived Assyrian Empire. Recent developments in the Middle East, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, and with the Arab League, the United Nations, and the "Quartet" are all in accord with an Assyrian Antichrist, and this book shows how this will all end. The book is written for the general reader who wants to understand the times in which we live and to learn about the Antichrist, the false prophet, the battle of Armageddon, the great tribulation, and the last days. The student of prophecy will find numerous Biblical references that he can read to verify every word. Roy Elmhorst grew up on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin. After serving in the US Air Force, he went to the University of Wisconsin and in 1963 he received a BS in Civil Engineering. His professional career was first in the oil and paper industries, and then for twenty-seven years he was the city engineer for the city of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. He has been a member in Baptist churches for over forty years where he has served as a deacon and taught Sunday school Bible classes on prophecy. In the 1970s he became interested in prophecy when he read Hal Lindsey's book The Late Great Planet Earth, and he learned the fundamentals of eschatology from Things to Come by W. Dwight Pentecost. He had questioned the "Roman" prince as being the Antichrist for many years and in recent times he has had concerns about the shift to a "Muslim" Antichrist, and this caused him to write this book. Roy is happily married to his wife of fifty-seven years and enjoys his four married children and their families, and his hobby farm.

Starting in the 70s, Marilyn began writing down her experiences with her time alone with God. She discovered that God very much wants a personal relationship with us and as she grew spiritually, she developed a closeness with her Savior. She explains it as hearing celestial language from the Holy Spirit. It started when she was born again in 1975 and was asked to teach a spirituality class. Even though she had been a Christian all of her life, she felt inadequate to explain to others how they could find God. She began taking walks in the little forest near her home. Here she waited for inspiration and asked God to teach her His ways. This became a habit and she began to see how real God was. She found when she took time with Him, her life was full of joy and amazement. He was showing her how precious time alone with him was. She calls this relationship with God "The Golden Room" where she can go to find comfort, encouragement and instructions from the Holy Father. She encourages others to go there also. This book expresses love that can only be felt in God's presence. She calls some of the lessons modern-day parables in which God reveals his hidden mystery in every day events. By asking Him to reveal what He is teaching her in particular circumstances, she has gained valuable insights. It is a delight to walk in the footsteps of Marilyn's journey and see and feel God's glory through her eyes. In the days of turmoil and confusion as the world gets crazier and more chaotic take a moment to enter the Golden Room through these wisdom packed poems and writings.

At the age of eighteen after graduating high school, Thomas enlisted into the military (U.S. Navy). While in the military Thomas' young world was thrust suddenly from that of a teen-ager to an adult serving in Viet-Nam. To cope, whenever he could he enjoyed his alone time writing home, painting a written picture for family and friends. Thomas in his own mind believes he's a PC gamer (PlayStation, X*Box) NOT!!! His love for his red nosed american pit bull terrier "Sheba", keeps him at times busier than he'd like. Today Thomas is an aspiring poet and ctional story teller.
