This collection of haiku poems is written to inspire audiences to further investigate biblical scripture that accompanies each haiku. Haiku is a Japanese poetic form that originated in 9th Century Japan. It is a three line, seventeen-syllable poem that conveys deep emotion using metaphors, similes and nature. It is like a camera''s close-up, expressing a moment in time and yet telling a larger, deeper story. Haiku is a perfect conduit for close-ups of biblical events and truths and is used in this collection to impel the reader to open the Bible and hunger for more. Although haiku traditionally has five syllables on the first line, seven on the second, and five on the third, American and English poets have used several syllabic variations. This haiku collection is an original variation of 7-9-3 with 19-syllables. Tracy Ann Johnson, Ed.D, is a native of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area. Although born and raised in D.C., she has lived in Prince George''s County, Maryland for over 35 years. She is a born-again Christian, wife, mother and grandmother. Having retired from Prince George''s County Public Schools, Dr. Johnson continues teaching as an adjunct professor at Prince George''s Community College. In past years, she has performed her poetry in local churches, schools, and libraries and has published some of her poems on-line and in church and college literary magazines. For a long time, she has promised herself and God that she would publish at least one book of poetry. She has written many poems over the years and has enough to fill at least two volumes. However, for this book, Land Sea Earth Sky, the Lord inspired her to write all new poems in the haiku genre - putting "new wine in new bottles".

The idea of this study came one day while I was riding on a riding lawn mower, mowing our yard. I use the time I ride to pray. This one particular day I was thanking God for teaching me so much about things I believe each person struggles with. I asked him if I was to write about what he has taught me what would be the title, right then, He gave me this title.HEALTHYIn the fleshWEATHYIn loveWISEIn the wordI was thrilled! But I wanted more then to share my life. I wanted the Holy Spirit to have the opportunity to teach each individual the truth for themselves. That''s when God through the Holy Spirit directed me to make this a bible study. I have lead ladies bible studies before, and I''ve seen women purchase bible studies, and never complete them. So again I prayed and believe God said, keep it simple and short. I pray you will be blessed. The N.I.V. version is recommended.

Unspoken Thoughts of Me: Focuses on life situations and events of what someone is going through or has been through. Throughout these pages this book will focus on the closeness of Jesus love, blessings and, mercy. Your situation is not your destination, as I wrote this book I focused on life events and situations that without God in my life I would not know what to do and how to overcome them. As Christians in life we go through trials and tribulations and ask God why me, why me Lord but with strong prayer and faith I know Jesus will turn it around for all good.As John 3:16-18 states 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Azalie Sharee JewellA young woman who tries her best to live in the word not world, worships Jesus everyday, loves the Lord with all her heart and soul. You will find here a unique perspective on a vital topic, long-debated:intimacy between lovers. The author deals with the subject of intimacy in a "Reality vs. Religious tradition" perspective, acknowledging the need for intimacy engrained in all of us by our Creator. Even in old age, the author proclaims through personal experience, people need intimacy with a loved one, in harmony with the purposes of our Father God.He discusses our need, created by God, for intimacy and how it continues even while entering retirement age. He seeks to dash unhealthy prejudices on this subject and establish a healthy concept readers will be challenged to explore. There are many strong comparisons throughout the book between what the Bible relates about intimacy with others, and how society views intimacy. These explorations of study create food for thought on common misunderstandings about intimacy and how a healthy intimate relationship fosters good health. The book is designed especially for people past child rearing age, mature individuals. The author describes how love can be viewed differently between young and old. He gives examples in each chapter to clarify his points about intimacy for older people. This book will disrupt traditional thinking for those whose view of the Bible is rote and literalistic. It delves into our need to view the Bible as the living pathway to an understanding that the Word of God connects us intimately with the God of Word, who wants us to be healthy and vibrant in all areas of life.

Our young women are growing up today in a "me" society. Many are being raised in homes where God is seldom mentioned and the idea of living out biblical concepts is almost non-existent. The idea of a traditional family is almost past history, but something that is deeply desired by many young people. I had a big push by the Holy Spirit to start a class for this very thing. After a while, some of the young ladies of our church were asking me to "write down some of the lessons I had learned." The Apostle Paul wrote to Titus.  In chapter 2:3-5 Paul is telling Titus to teach women, especially the older women, women like me, to do certain things. "the older women be teachers of good things, that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed". My husband, Jerry, and I have been married over 60 years, raised five children, have 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. I really have had many experiences. As an Elementary Teacher for over 30 years, I have been privileged to get acquainted with many forms of "family" and shared in their joys and sorrows. My prayer everyday as I drove to school was, "Lord let your love for me and my love for you, make a difference in the lives I come in contact with". It is still my prayer today.

I first met Major General Karl Horst on a leadership tour of United States Central Command (CENTCOM) at MacDill Air Force Base, one of the most important military installations in the world. As CEO of the NHL''s Tampa Bay Lightning I was privileged to be in this group and honored when the General invited me to tour his office.  I discovered that General Horst was a big hockey fan growing up, playing on frozen ponds in Wenatchee, Washington.  Our connection was immediate, and my admiration for him strong. Our friendship developed by attending Lightning games, joint service in community projects, and more visits to his headquarters. On one occasion the General showed me a series of photos of he and President Obama visiting a 21-year old Medal of Honor recipient''s grave at Arlington National Cemetery, and placement by the President of an honorary Presidential coin there.  When the President left, Karl returned to the soldier''s grave and retrieved that coin. After months of searching, Karl was able to locate the mother of the fallen soldier and personally deliver the coin to her. In sharing that story with me, a tear came to the General''s eye. It was an awesome moment to see that after more than 30 years in the military, this humble leader never forgot the true mission of service and the ultimate sacrifice made by the men and women of our Armed Forces. I came to know the General as an inspirational man who symbolizes all that is great about our nation.  In Common Sense Leadership, General Horst provides invaluable insights as to what constitutes effective leadership.  Use this book to change your life, improve your people, and accomplish your business mission.  God Bless you, General Horst.

She couldn''t describe it, but the private time with God that author Danisha Deans experiences regularly is like nothing else. Growing up in an apostolic church, she felt she wasn''t connected to God in her attempts to speak in tongues. However, what Danisha learned is that transparency with God allowed her to be just as close with God as those of her former congregation. In her new book, Love Letters From Ishra, Danisha, under her new name from God Ishra, presents a collection of personal journal entries that reveal the voice of God in her seeking answers to prayers. Needing guidance for a marriage ending, Danisha''s journaling opens up about her struggles to wait on God for answers and needing to pray for enemies, including for her husband''s actions toward their four children. Danisha shows trusting God for understanding, and being transparent in prayer, displays His eternal love for us.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York where I lived with my four other siblings. Our parents Ana Luisa and Jacinto Velazquez taught us of the significance of knowing and of keeping Jesus present in our daily lives.I was eleven years old when I wrote "The Greatest Gift," and my desire was to one day have it published and share with others. It wasn''t until my own children moved to pursue their own personal journey that I gave into their strong encouragement of fulfilling my life long dream. It is my belief that this poem, although short, captures the enormous and grandest gesture of the love that our Heavenly Father has for all His children. Though years have passed, His words have stood the test of time. He is and always shall be everlasting and constant which demonstrates how He truly is The Greatest Gift.In memory of Jacinto Velázquez.

MAN ALIVE is alive with a Christian conservative life message designed for young men in their late teens to early twenties, but is for men of all ages. Each Chapter speaks to all men regarding a relationship with God, and real life subjects such as Love, Sex, Dating, Marriage, Divorce, Fatherhood, Sin, Politics, Religion, Life, Death and more. Amazingly, we men seem to repeat the mistakes of prior generations and do not seek wisdom from those who have come before.  Courage, honor, character, goodness, kindness, gentleness, and self-control are the life-blood of being a man. We grow into ourselves, some at different rates than others. But how are we growing into ourselves? What are we learning? What are we thinking? Are we thinking at all? Life is full of so many possibilities. It is our choices that often dictate our life paradigm, or how we do life. History gives us so many fantastic examples of good and honorable men. Within these pages you will find specific examples of (and quotes from) many such men.  At the end of each Chapter is a list of recommended reading comprised of books and movies. The purpose of this Book is to provoke thought and reason, and to reach into the hearts and minds of all men. And to cause the reader to question what they believe. Belief is what drives a man, but on what is that belief based ... a man's will for his life, or God's Will for that man's life? Join me as we explore how to become a MAN ALIVE! The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who can't read them. -Mark Twain

My father's generation fought hard in WWII to save this nation from evil. Today's Christians must work hard to save this nation from secularism and evil! One out of every 32 Americans will be victims of crime each year as well as countless unreported incidents of domestic disputes, child neglect, and drug overdoses. What are we doing to each other? The men, women, and children left behind in the wake of these crimes suffer in agony and their scars are carried for a lifetime. Babies are being born with drug addictions because their mothers are addicts. The people of this nation must seek the Lord and read the Bible. Do  As  It's   LifeYielding A relationship with God yields a more productive, higher quality life, and this starts best by taking your children to church and Sunday School. The Bible is the infallible word of God. Every word in the Bible is true. The Bible states that we can hear God's voice and, therefore, we do.John 1:1 ESV1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.John 10:1-10 ESV1 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.5 A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers." 6 This figure of speech Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them.7 So Jesus again said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

''When we loose sight of who we are,we loose everything that makes us great.''Edward Antonio CarmonaWho am I? How do I find out? Why is it so hard to discover? All of us ponder these questions, perhaps daily. Identity is a fundamental human need. No wonder we cry out for it. Why haven''t I reached my potential in life? Why have my expectations of the Christian life not been fulfilled? We long to reach our Promised Land. The longing is an instinctive human desire to experience the glory we were intended to live under. And that glory is what God is trying to reveal to us through our identity. In this provocative work, readers are liberated from that mind blindness that hides their identity and that of God''s. We were created in God''s image and having lost sight of His image causes us to become blind to ours.  The insights revealed in this book, unscrambles the mystery of identity.  It leads to a transforming mind-set from which all our potential is unleashed. The world is waiting for you. Empower yourself and experience your TRUE IDENTIY.

Depression knows no boundaries Have you ever found yourself in a situation as a believer that knocked the wind out of you? You never thought that it would happen to you. But it happened. After walking with God for almost two decades, the unthinkable occurred-in the year of 2003 I was diagnosed with clinical depression. Clinical depression and Christian in the same sentence?!!What? How? It''s like oxymoron. But it happened. It happened to me. Believe me, depression knows no boundaries-saint or sinner. However, after applying the practical truth of God''s Word, I won the victory. In my book I share my personal experience of my journey from despair to joy. Depression knows no boundaries, but neither does the applied Word of God. Evangelist Rebekah Brooks, born and raised in the D.C metropolitan area, is the sibling of ten. She was ordained a minister in 2001 by her dad, the late Bishop Conward. She is currently a member of Faith International church where her brother Russell Conward resides as Pastor. Who created the Universe? What beings fill the Universe? When was the Universe created? Why was the Universe created? How was the Universe created? Creation and the Arrow of Time, Presenting an Ancient Universe Model, addresses these questions via the integration of truths found in science and Scripture. The thesis of dual revelation records, i.e., General Revelation (nature) and Special Revelation (Scripture), is foundational to the construction of the model. In addition, the bedrock belief that "All truth is God's truth" is central to the lines of evidence presented in the model. This is the miraculous true story of Dikran, an abandoned, starved, and disfigured Armenian Gampr dog that was a one-third sized runt. The story follows his life from being abandoned as a young puppy in the wintry Armenian Highlands; his rescue; his trip to America; his amazing healing, adoption, and training; and finally to his unique and unforgettable ministry. The story of Dikran is told through the life of Benjamin, a fictitious 10-year-old boy who was adopted three years ago into a family that includes Rebecca, his 12-year-old sister, and Brenda, his mom. Ben is small for his age, does poorly in school, and does not believe in God. At the end of each school year, Ben and his family go to visit his new grandparents at their farm in the country. Ben loves the farm life, and the biggest thrill happens every evening after supper when Grandpa tells Benjamin and Rebecca a story. This year the story will be about a dog, and it will take the whole week to tell. As Dikran's fantastic story unfolds, Ben falls in love with a dog that he is able to identify with on a deeply personal level. Each evening takes Ben toward a growing understanding of how only God can take an "abandoned, starved, and disfigured runt" and bring about a healing and new life that can only be described as miraculous. Ultimately, Ben must deal with his own past as well as his beliefs about God. "The Story of Dikran" is a true story that points to Jesus Christ and the Bible every step of the way. It is a story of salvation, adoption, healing, trusting, and ultimately living a life of ministry.
