The Seven Spirits of God are the spirits of God himself. They have different characteristics, abilities, functions, and attributes as written in the book. They show and portray who God is, his powers, dominion, capabilities, and most essentially, his love for humanity. The Seven spirits of God are the spirits of the Lord, the spirit of wisdom, the spirit of understanding, the spirit of counsel, the spirit of might, the spirit of knowledge, and the spirit of the fear of the Lord. The Spirit of the Lord functions primarily as the Holy Spirit, the spirit of wisdom enables one to do the right things at all times. The Spirit of Understanding allows and enables one to learn, be informed, and take the right decisions. The spirit of counsel is the branch of the Holy Spirit that enables wise counsel. He is the problem solver and a solution provider. The Spirit of Might has to do with authority and powers of God released by God to help at all times. The spirit of knowledge helps in having clear perceptions about issues. Conclusively, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). Fear of the Lord enables one to love, worship, respect, and care for God, and also love one another as ourselves (Mark 12;30-31) . The world with the Seven Spirits of God would no doubt be a beautiful, loving, peaceful place to live in. What better world do humans wish for ? Your guess is as good as mine.

Sabbath, God''s day of rest, was treasured in years past for being a day where believers could share intimacy with God away from the busyness of life. However, in today''s world, this season of rest has been replaced for another day of work, activity and chores. What readers need to learn again is the purpose of the Sabbath and how to implement this rest in their time spent with family. Author Dennis Gallaher provides a resource to believers through his forty-day devotional A Sabbath Rest, which offers faith-based readings for learning about the Sabbath. Using the Lord''s prayer and other scripture verses, the devotional focuses on recognizing God''s provision for believers, escaping time constraints and encouraging trust in the Lord through releasing control of life to Him. Most of all, A Sabbath Rest allows families to come together through educational activities, understanding collectively the need for resting time with God.

The author, Berndt Botman, is an electrical engineer by profession. He has also been a keen Bible student since he was born again in 1975 at age 24. He has been for a year 82/83 in a Bible School in UK in order to prepare for Missions, Wycliffe Bible Translators. After one year in Bible school he returned to his own country, the Netherlands. He married Manuela and he and his wife now have a family with 4 grown-up children. He became, among other subjects, interested in chronologies based on the Bible. This is also a refutation of the evolution theory! Now it struck the author, that there were many discrepancies in the chronologies, composed by sincere Bible believing Christians. So he started praying for insight in this matter. Then slowly he found answers that gave him peace. Because of his work abroad he had time for further study in the evenings. Finally he reached a point, that gave him peace and put his findings into writing.Friends who read a copy of the manuscript and especially my oldest son Johannes encouraged me to publish it for a wider audience.

Love, Respect and Trust  is a work about solidifying healthy relationships, particularly, in marriages so that the quality of our life improves. As a mathematician, I have attempted to wrap structure around the architecture of marriage so that couples can peer into its elements and begin to see the mechanisms for happiness. Having been married to the lovely woman in red for 50 years has given me a plethora of human experiences and wisdom. Being married to Karen was like living a symphony. The concepts for improvement are built around 7 new relationship models and there are a number of tools and techniques now available for the couple to use to make breakthroughs in the interpersonal side of the equation.By equipping partners with some simple tools we can begin to solve problems in the marriage like never before. If the quality of the relationship is low then we struggle and the relationship can be a burden. There is no reason that a relationship cannot reflect total joy. It''s a matter of wanting to make a difference and following the guidelines here to set you in the right direction. The bottom line is that we can enjoy life more, there is less stress on the family, trust is now a common denominator, the children are subjected to a favorable learning environment and everyone is having fun.My purpose here is to begin to bring marriages back to what they were meant to be... filled with love and the right ingredients. If we can save more marriages, I believe we can improve the quality of life in America and improve the bottom lines of all businesses. Productivity would improve and our economy would turn around for the better. A happily run household is like a small engine contributing to society in a team environment and setting exceptional examples for our future leaders.I dedicate this work to my wife, Karen, who provided the inspiration for this book and set the example for a mother, grandmother and wife. My children loved their mother and would always go to her for advice. My youngest daughter shot herself in the head partly due to her passing. The grief is sometimes overwhelming but this book is a cinema of wonderful experiences for our 50 years of joy. It is full of lessons learned, problems resolved and celebrations of great times together. Our relationship can be characterized as a passionate one full of music, intelligent discussion and the love and support of our heavenly Father.AcknowledgementsI think this book is a masterpiece of wisdom, practical advice and valuable lessons learned. I especially like the piece on Respect. So important. It''s the kind of book that needs to be read multiple times in order to absorb the truth you are expressing. And it serves well as a go-to-guide for solving/understanding problems as they arise in a marriage.  A body of work well-done with enduring value and wisdom!!!Michael Druley, Owner Executive Recruiting PartnersSouth Bend, Indiana What a valuable piece of work this is. Everyone should read this.Your writing is heartfelt and your charts and graphs are clear and easily understood.Patricia DruleySouth Bend, Indiana

Celebratiing 40 years as a wife and a mother to six children, and a grandmother to 14 grand children with more to come, gives Miriam the nudge to speak out.A fatherless child at 2, raised by the forceful prop of extended families to a single mother, I grew up having no concept of a daughter/father/daughter relationship. Calling God my father at prayer times in church was meaningless until I met Jesus personally at 33, 31 years ago. Developing that relationship with God was difficult, but it did open my eyes to relationships created by God which I had to learn with my husband and children and the church - thus this book. This addition comes with personal experience and revelatory twist that seeks to put divine order in the divine purpose of the Creation of human kind -" So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created" (Genesis 1:27). This oneness of male and female in the man God created in His image, separated by a rib surgery, fully formed in Eve, gave Adam a new revelation of himself. That he is no longer alone, but the one become two and the two shall become one. God''s order in the Marriage relationship models the Church and Jesus Christ relationship, viz: "For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (Ephesians 5: 31-32).

    211,-

Born in England, Maj. Terry Camsey was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army. He played the cornet for well-known Salvation Army bands, and composed more than a hundred songs. For 25 years, beginning in 1984, he wrote "The Body Builder," a column for the New Frontier Chronicle, in which he explained how concepts from the Church Growth Movement could be used by the Army to reach people for Christ. He closed his career in the United States as the Vision and Corps Growth Secretary for the Western Territory. In 2015, as it celebrated its 150th anniversary, the Salvation Army impressively counted congregations and charitable works in 127 countries. But, as Camsey notes, Salvation Army corps are subject to aging. Therefore they face challenges familiar to all congregations, in that life-cycle processes are at work to erode their vitality. ANTICIPATE invites leaders to go beyond celebrating history towards envisioning a preferred and effective future. "Terry Camsey understood that when The Salvation Army grows, the Church of Jesus Christ, of which it is a vital evangelical part, also grows. Here is the fruit of decades of experience in teaching and training for growth. But, it will take courage and commitment to come to terms with its vision and its demands."Gen. Paul A. Rader, Salvation Army (retired)"Asking questions that ''rattle the cage'' is a gift that Terry Camsey offered anyone involved in church leadership and mission. Terry knew how to stimulate and challenge people by asking the right questions at the right time."Lt. Col. Alan Burns, Territorial Headquarters, London

It was just another blessed day for king and farmer alike in King Hiram''s kingdom, yet the day turned to sadness and anger when Caleb, a God-fearing farmer, and his neighbor Nathan were called to the palace. In the new children''s book by author Jim Alexander, Queen Hattiella''s Choice, Caleb had found his milk cow Ruthiebell dead and Sweet Pea missing earlier that day, but later located Sweet Pea in Nathan''s field. It then became farmer against farmer over Sweet Pea''s ownership, which needed King Hiram''s judgment. The king''s unfair decree in favor of Nathan had Caleb in tears, but the clever Queen Hattiella had a solution to his problem. The outcome of the solution became a turning point for the king and queen also over doing what is right in situations. Queen Hattiella''s Choice displays lessons in forgiveness, true love and honesty for young readers, in a Christian perspective.

  • - Portraits of the Presidents, Secretaries and Treasurers of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists
    av DeWitt S Williams
    407,-

Today the membership of the Seventh-day Adventist Church exceeds 19 million, scattered throughout 216 countries of the world. In addition to more than 80,000 churches, it operates a chain of hospitals, schools, publishing houses, media centers and other institutions. When it organized in Michigan in 1863 with 3,500 members no one then dreamed that the infant religious group would travel around the world and that in 2015 a new church would be established every 3.2 hours. Much of that growth has come about because of the dedication, vision, and prayers of the leadership-from pastors to administrators, who moved forward in faith through the power of the Holy Spirit. Author DeWitt S. Williams writes about some of those leaders-the men and women at the top of the organizational chain who believed, inspired, and faithfully followed God''s instruction in Matthew 24:14 to evangelize the world. Starting with the first world president, John Byington, and continuing to the current leader, Ted N. C. Wilson, this volume profiles the contributions of these devoted leaders. It also portrays the facts about the secretaries and treasurers of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.DeWitt S. William graduated from Oakwood College in 1962, then Andrews and Indiana Universities and later Loma Linda University School of Public Health. An ordained minister, he served in various capacities within the Adventist Church for forty-six years, retiring in 2010 as the Director of Health for the North American Division. Dr. Williams has traveled to more than 100 countries, written many articles and talked to people about the importance of good health. Dr. Williams has served as a missionary in the Congo, and in Rwanda and Burundi. In addition to Spirit-Filled Leadership, Williams has written or coauthored eight books. Besides writing, he enjoys staying fit and has run in several marathons.

Despite its heavy and large body, the bumblebee is able to fly - defying the law of aerodynamics. The bumblebee flies because its inherent power is greater than its challenges, aerodynamics included. Like the bumblebee, all young men of color - and all individuals - have the inherent power to overcome challenges and do the seemingly impossible.┬áIn Bumblebees Can Fly: Empowering Young Men of Color, Dr. Dowdell-Underwood uses natural and social science research to explain the relationship between marginalization, perceptions of mattering, and achievement among young men of color. He then proffers person-centric strategies of engaging personal Inherent Power for the poor, and young men of color in order to overcome the effects of marginalization and maximize their human potential; thereby, preventing the societal loss that results when brilliant young men of color fail to constructively employ their inherent power, that is, their skill, ability, talent, will, and intellect to fulfill their burden of hope. Strategies for parents, educators, government, policymakers, community leaders, and nonprofit organizations are also discussed.┬á In 1998, Dr. Dowdell-Underwood testified before the United States Congressional Committee on Small Businesses regarding his education strategies for maximizing achievement among all youth, including the poor and young men and women of color. Dr. Dowdell-Underwood challenges all vestiges of society and particularly education to maximize not only scholastic achievement of young men of color, but also personal empowerment by engaging their inherent power and their need and desire to achieve in education and to succeed in life.┬á┬áHe is also politically active - challenging educational policies that marginalize students, particularly poor and minority students. He believes that all children deserve the dignity of being recognized as the "Agents of Learning" and not the objects of it. His unyielding commitment to education and human development has made an unparalleled positive impact on the numerous students who affectionately refer to him as "Doc" or as "the educator who changed my life."┬á

God said to His prophet Isaiah, "Come now, and let us reason together." See that image in your mind. You will have a good picture of prayer. God and man sit down together for a good talk. (Isaiah 1:18).This Bible study is written specifically for people who prefer to read in basic English. The age of the person does not matter. Anyone will enjoy the study. The person might be a deaf individual who struggles to read. It could be someone who is learning the English language or someone who does not read well. The Bible study attempts to answer many questions people have regarding prayer. Here are some examples. What is prayer? Why should we pray? Is there a right or wrong way to pray? Why doesn''t God answer my prayer? Is there anything I should not ask God for as I pray? Many other similar questions are discussed in the study. The author wants the learners to understand the awesome precious privilege a Christian has in prayer. The fact that someone can communicate with the Creator of the universe IS a privilege. Once this is understood, a person''s prayer life is never the same.
