Transition is a change from one position to another. They all come with their share of hardship. Its how you get through those transitions that determine who you are. This book was birthed through pain from my personal experience. It was through the hardest time of my life that I truly understood what it meant to walk in faith. I knew that God was shifting me but I didn’t know what it was going to take to crossover to the other side to reach my destiny. What do you do when God requires you to walk with your eyes closed? What do you do in the land I call the land of the in- between? It is the place in the middle of where you are currently positioned and walking in purpose? In order to walk out your purpose, you must first be able to hear and obey. Allow this book to lead you into a deeper relationship with God, while on your way to purpose. There are tools and wisdoms to equip you for what God has next for you. Allow it to strengthen you to be where you are destined to be.
Are you going through a spiritual crisis? Are you at a standstill in your spiritual life? I have experienced both of these. I was being called to a higher place. Yet, I was not certain as to how I would get there. I went through some trials and even experienced times where I felt afraid and unloved. But God had a plan and a purpose for my life. He showed me love through people. He trained me, chastised me and made me stronger through a divine connection. If it were not for this connection I don’t know where I would be. So to you I say to you as you go through your trial and face your fears, stay focused on God. Apostle Joann Brown has been happily married to Deacon Robert Brown Jr. for over thirty years. There is a longing deep in our being for connection...to others...and I believe, to our Creator. A hope for something safe and satisfying. One that brings completeness and joy into this human experience we are each having. God means for us to have that longing become a reality. Like us, He deeply desires connection. His pure motive of love and His complete ability to do so meets our longings and our incomplete ability. Magic happens. My hope is that you might catch a glimpse within these poetic attempts, of the magnificent One beyond the face in a manger whose hand is reaching out to touch your face. May some of these words be part of that tender touch. Annette has lived in Traverse City Mi. most of her adult life. Her interest in poetry began early in life and her own musings were scattered about in journals, on scraps of paper, napkins and whatever material might be nearby when inspiration hit. She began to pull together some of these disjointed jottings into forms while taking a college poetry workshop with the hope that someone might be inspired by them as she has been through other's writings. Annette won first prize in a writing contest at that college for her poem, "Midwinter's Dream" and also just recently won 3rd prize in Xulon Press's January 2019 writer's contest for her poem, "Unsilent Night".

January 2018 - My heart dropped at the doctor's words on that dreaded phone call: Mass on Pancreas! But I saw strength and confidence in my husband's face as he looked at me after the call was over and said: "Baby, I'm not gonna die soon - God told me 'You hadn't told them enough.'" For years and years my husband talked about the Salvation of Jesus. At all denominations, to all people, he would sing and praise spreading the Good News, the Hope to the lost, Love to the broken, a Prayer for all. My husband touched the world with God's love by following the leading of the Holy Spirit. He impacted many...so many did not know him. I hope in this book by sharing the memories of our life together that future generations can be impacted by his life. Never complaining - never asking why - always smiling and helping others in prayer. In the darkest hours facing chemo, testing, and scans - never ever taking his eyes off our Lord and saying to me: "From the first day I gave this to God; so, it's no longer my problem; why worry? It's all in God's hands - His will. Either way I'm a winner...I know who I am and I know who's I am. He's holding my hand." I said to Pat: "And who are they? And what have you not told them?" His answer: "Baby, I don't know that answer, but God will let me know in His time." Exactly one year later (January 2019) God revealed it to him. In His power and glory - what He wanted him to share to all he met - at Conferences and Churches, private visits to over 1,000 people and on videos everywhere...to all he met, my Pat was obedient to our Father God as he shared his story to all. He would always say, "Now pass it ON!" So I'm writing this book to Pass it on! Alleluia!
I thank God for the initiative He has given me to write this book. I'm so grateful for all the doors He has opened through this venture. It amazes me that He can start with something so small and turn it into something you wouldn't even expect. These poems have inspired me to be a better person. I hope you 'll also find these as a great source of comfort, strength, and the messages will inspire you, and move you closer to God. He has set the stage for me to begin my journey. This book has been a long-time goal. In the past two months, I've put together a website and I've been working on converting some of these into songs. I'm now ready to move on to the next step. In today's society, we deal with many types of issues and often become sidetracked with things that pull us away from what's most important. It happens to all of us. We still need quality time with God to reflect on how and what we can do to make our lives better. It is my sincere desire to share what God has done for me. I hope and pray that you 'll be blessed, I thank God each morning I awake for another day. I truly believe that the end is close and we are living on borrowed time. God makes allowances for things to happen in our lives to turn us around. It's an awesome wonder that He meets and accepts us right where we're at. It's a great honor to help promote the Word of God. Whether it be poetry, song, ministries or just sharing Jesus with others.

How to Get Over Wanting a Perfect Marriage Marriage is messy. Ours has been very messy, but we found the deepest love developed in our biggest struggles. Through our discoveries, we grew up and learned to practice connection. Money, status, and things did not bring us happiness. Buying the nice house, getting good jobs, having more money, and finding the best schools for our kids did not improve our marriage. We turned the pursuit of stuff into a quest for certainty and security. The trouble is that our pursuit of the American Dream/fantasy put us on the performance treadmill. After years of pleasing, perfecting, performing, and, many times, hustling to get it right, we've come to the conclusion that we are enough. We are enough to Jesus and we are enough to each other. "The Unperfect Marriage" is a book to bring liberation for couples trapped in the fantasy of perfection. Jesus showed us how to receive His perfect love in our imperfectness. We hope it will inspire you to do the same thing. becourageouscoaching.com
Paul tells King Agrippa and Festus about Jesus Christ and about his own life-altering experience with him, and Festus tells Paul he is beside himself. Paul says he speaks "words of truth and soberness" about matters well-known to them because "this thing was not done in a corner" (Acts 26:25, 26). Facing a Festus at every turn today, many believers fail to hold their ground. Instead, they present a puny faith in a halting manner to a skeptical world with a predictable result. Believers and nonbelievers begin to sound alike, as they struggle to hash out some agreed-upon fiction to promote unity. It is bracing to have the example of Paul who, whether in favor or in fetters, stood fast in the "faith once delivered to the saints" and proclaimed it without apology wherever he went. Inspired by his courage and driven by a similar intention, these essays address readers familiar with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, none of which was done in a corner, and in truth and soberness, urge them to adhere to the authentic message they have been given and to deliver it in a credible, Christ-honoring way. Carol Demong has published three books prior to this one: Dear Angie, your family's getting a divorce (as Carol Nelson through David C. She has an MA in English literature and curriculum and has taught writing and literary analysis in a variety of contexts. In addition to the essays presented here and the articles and novel mentioned above, she has written Bible curriculum for women's studies, as well as short stories, poetry, and other essays. She lives with her grandson, a dog, and a few cats in the vicinity of extended family in Southern California. What started out as daily email reminders for her church's Bible study group, during the period of Lent, became inspiration for the members and their families to know God was present, there for them at all times. Author Kelly Claibourne was part of the Kerygma class at her church, a Bible Study Fellowship class, and was asked to create email reminders for members to follow their pastor's instructions to pray for our nation at 7:14 in the morning or evening, using 2 Chronicles 7:14 as a guide. This was to be during Lent, the day after Ash Wednesday to Easter. The Kerygma Class 7:14 Devotional comprises those daily emails Kelly wrote to encourage the members to pray. However, Kelly noticed the more she wrote the prayer emails, the more she felt God was speaking to the members through the messages. As the emails continued throughout the Bible study's time of prayer, Kelly began to reflect more on how God's Word was comforting life situations that were impacting the group. One member was diagnosed with colon cancer; another passed away right before Easter from a cancer battle; mass shootings and other social issues that caused the group, and nation, to be troubled about the state of our country. Kelly also included meditations about the armor of God from Ephesians 6 and the Lord's Prayer in the emails. After being told that her prayer emails were also being sent to family members and friends enduring trials, Kelly felt the Lord was prompting her to collect these prayer emails into a book that would be available for all readers, believers and non-believers alike. The Kerygma Class 7:14 Devotional is a call to those reading to stop trying to handle life on their own and open their arms up to a loving God who wants a personal relationship with each of his children. If we call out for help and repent, He will heal us and our land.
Buried in the darkness of his third story loft, Bisbee Saxton stared into the valley. He tried to look away, but his eyes refused. Pressing his face against the small wood-framed window he watched in horror as dark, shadowy creatures ripped their way through the countryside of Harness. Marnin's prophecy was coming true. But it was more than just the chaos in the valley below that troubled him. A foreboding darkness haunted him. All of Harness battled the beasts, but Bisbee was inwardly terrified by something darker. Tears filled his eyes, ran down his cheeks, and dripped into a warm cup of tea he held tightly to his chest. The map leading north to Charis lay open on the table beside him. The light from the moon moved in and out of the night clouds, passing over the markings on the old parchment. The crash of a crow flying into his window jolted him backwards. Falling to the floor, he stared into the ceiling above, cold tea now covered his chest. Perhaps it was not too late. Grabbing the map, he raced down the spiral staircase. This is the tale of Bisbee's journey to Charis. This is the story of the Seventh Trail.
God speaks much about the fruit of the vine in the Bible. He promised it to Israel's patriarchs when speaking of the promised land. The Jewish men who searched the land of Caanan brought back large bunches of grapes to show the people, as they reported on the land. God mentions it many times in the Old Testament as a staple of their diet, along with corn and oil. The English word that translates the 5 Hebrew words that refer to this fruit of the vine is "wine", a word that was generic when the Old Testament was translated into English. This means that it applied to either fresh grape juice or grape juice that was turned alcoholic by adding yeast. The fact of its generic meaning is true and vital to the proper understanding of God's teaching about grape juice and alcoholic wine. Thus, in the Bible we have revealed two wines: unfermented grape juice and alcoholic wine. In the present time in Christian America, the truth that "wine" is generic in the Bible is little taught, largely unknown, and greatly contested. "Wine" is generally understood as an alcoholic beverage. Instead of accepting the "two-wine" understanding, writers deny the historic truth about unfermented grape juice in Bible times and use the Bible to permit and encourage drinking alcohol moderately. We will carefully examine the facts about "wine" in the Bible in the light of God's Word and we will document the danger of consumption of alcohol today. We will also tell a little-known story about Godly men who fought to show the truth of "two-wines" over 100 years ago so that they could convince Christians of the necessity of abstinence.
There is a persistent myth about hula with its grass shirt and hip movements. But hula tells a story or has a message, and the movements of the hands, feet, and other parts of the body only help in telling the story. From this book, you'll understand how: Traditional and modern hula deepens your love for the dance Through hula, you can learn about the Hawaiian language and culture Hula meets the needs in other countries Hula helps with your physical and emotional challenges Hula meets your spiritual needs As a professional dancer and teacher, Leiola expresses her love for hula and the Hawaiian culture through her performances and teaching. For her, hula is the essence of Hawaiian culture-she wants to share this love of hula with others. Minoru, as a connoisseur of hula, is interested in the background of hula and its role in Hawaiian culture and about its current status and prospect for the future. Hula is evolving and herein lays its strength. To understand hula properly, you need to know about the past, for it helps to explain the present. In other words, the unchanging parts of the past explain the changing present. Hula is, indeed, the artistic language of Hawai'i, but it is also the artistic language of the world.
A Doctor's Devotion transports the reader to the turbulent times of the late 1960s to 70s. A time when the Vietnam War was stirring protests across America, dictatorships oppressed many of those living in Third World nations, and hopelessness and turmoil seemed everywhere. It was in this backdrop that a young medical doctor and his wife began a life of service, which would eventually take them to numerous countries across three continents. Written in devotional format, the purpose of this book is to inspire people to a life of serving others. Service to others, no matter what their circumstance or culture, is a privilege that is both life-enriching and satisfying.
Renuel, the 'Wanderer', is tall, dark and lean. A foreigner on a grievous, underground mission collides, on a city street, with Linnea Johanneson, the Parson's daughter. She is a fair-faced and light-hearted girl, fine and keen. Quickly, but unwittingly, she sees into his pathos, captured by his tormented, empty gaze. Thus God, the dream-maker, begins their story of unspoken, deep love. This tale will unrelentingly romance and capture you and forbid your closing its pages. Natalyia, mother of Renuel, arrives in America, incognito, and is welcomed into the parsonage by Linnea and the parson. He is smitten by her beauty and selflessness, and drawn by her sudden abduction, into intrigue and romance. Have you ever received news that was so scary it left you speechless? Thinking I had bronchitis or pneumonia, I was not prepared to hear the words, "You are in heart failure." As a 31-year-old woman, wanting nothing more than to be a mother, I was left contemplating what my future would look like - if I had a future. My doctors said my greatest chance of survival would be a heart transplant. God was gently teaching me to trust Him despite how physically unbearable life became. Over time, I began feeling distant from God's love, especially preceding my first open-heart surgery. But each time I cried out to God and searched His scriptures, I was reminded that He cares deeply for all who suffer. My prayers began to change from a daily plea for healing to a surrender of my future to His will. After surrendering fully to God's will, I had a moment of overwhelming love from my heavenly Father in which I felt His arms reach down and hold me with unimaginable love and peace. I am eternally grateful for the lesson I was reminded of first-hand: MIRACLES DO STILL HAPPEN! Through the heart-felt sharing of my testimony and true-to-life evidence of God's healing hand, I pray that Though My Heart and Flesh May Fail will motivate readers to put their faith and future in the hands of their divine Healer.
But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control (Galatians 5:22-23 NLT). As a young man, author Chris Rigsby never truly considered where he would spend eternity and was not close to God. Though he and his wife had attended church occasionally as children, it was not until they were in their early twenties that they began attending church regularly. It was after this when the need to accept Jesus and the call for salvation began to weigh heavily on Chris's soul. At this time, they both consistently partook in Bible Study and attended sermons on Sunday. One Sunday, as this need became more and more pressing, he and his wife accepted Jesus together in their church. They were baptized the next weekend. Now, in this Bible Study, Spiritual Fruit: Reflections On Life, Salvation, and Eternity, you can see where God provides the spiritual fruit listed in Galatians 5:22-23. Through this book he wants to guide you to where in the Bible this wonderful sharing can be found, so that you too may find it in your life. Through God, you can find love, forgiveness, acceptance, and so much more. When you accept Jesus into your life, you will be graced with the love of our Lord. And in addition to this, you will find your place in eternity, in heaven with God.
I have placed my "pastor's ponderings" in this book as a result of the encouragement of friends and acquaintances. The premise and hope of this devotional book are that it will facilitate a deeper spiritual walk for all who read it. Each devotional was developed by relating everyday objects or activities to our spiritual lives, with the intent of keeping them simple enough so that even a child could understand them. Each devotional encourages the reader to be a better Christian, to attend church more regularly, to study the Bible more, or to grab hold of some other spiritual insight or discipline. It is my desire that this book will be used by the Holy Spirit to enlighten the readers of their spiritual weaknesses in order to be brought closer to God. If this happens, I will consider it a success. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift. Ephesians 2:8
