The satiric poems in this volume were rejected 38 times, the Atikah poems 32 times, the others, who knows? Some of these poems were shortlisted for the Sequestrum Literary Prize, some for the Emrys Press Chapbook Prize, some for the Ex Ophilia Poetry Prize, but none of these resulted in publication. Since 2017 more than 220 rejections have been collected, until I stopped submitting; it was taking too much of my time, and other things demanded my attention.

In Tolerated but Never Accepted: Polish American Officials Of Michigan, Don Binkowski traces the long and tortuous history of the Polish peasant's struggle to participate in America's democracy and election of officials in Michigan and elsewhere in America. Successful in their efforts to establish a 1919 independent Poland, the second-generation Poles gradually focused on all political levels culminating in the election of three Michigan congressmen and other officials during the New Deal. Binkowski documented their successes and failures in Michigan's and the nation's executive, legislative, and judicial branches while Polonia supported the eventual independence of Poland from the communists.

This is a true love story about a husband's love for his wife through more than fifty years of marriage and through the struggle with the long term illness of his wife. It is also about tests of faith in facing and enduring the harsh reality of seeing the intellect and person of his beloved wife slowly destroyed by Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease during the last several years of her life. The author shares this personal and private part of his life with readers who may at some time be caregivers for loved ones. The author tells this true story in simple but eloquent language. Comments from some of the readers include the following: "The book was a touching tribute to a beautiful lady." "Your poignant, candid story not only is a tribute to Edna, but it glorifies God. Thank you for writing it." "I don't believe I have ever read a love story that could really be called a true love story until I read yours. I cried all the way through it. Thank you for sharing it.""I have just finished reading your story and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your and Edna's great love for each other."The author includes with this love story colorful images from original watercolors which he hand painted to honor and memorialize his wife.
