You would probably feel very hurt, angry, alone and even hopeless. This book shares those such feelings of the Black man told through the eyes of a Black woman. I challenge you to read about their struggles, their pain and their pride hoping you will Understand why the Black man is still FIT TO BE TIED.
I turn around and open my eyes. I throw my hands in the air and scream, "e;It's Sally's birthday today!"e; I begin to dance all around my room, jumping on my bed and rolling around on the floor, singing, "e;It's S-a-l-l-y-'s birthday to-day, hey! I'm going to eat some ice cream and cake! Hey!"e;Every kid gets excited about a birthday party at a friend's house: ice cream, cake, good fun, and playing games. All kids will have a fun tale while at a party, and can't wait to tell their parents.
This is my third book of poetry written in quarantine. This time I decided to stick with one format - Haiku. Although the poems are significantly shorter, I do hope that the emotions and intention of the poems have equal weight and meaning to the reader. Enjoy!
"e;BOOTS THE BUNNY BEAGLE"e;This story is about how a little rescue Beagle who found a loving family and acceptance, even though he was disabled and tossed aside. It's a sad sweet story with a happy ending. The beautiful illustrations were drawn by Dawn McPeek-Bowser which very much add to the story.
