Ann, Harry and their family move in with Aiden and Nicole as his health declines. It is a decision that makes sense in many ways, but nobody is sure if Aiden will agree. Charlotte is offered a knight in shining armour in the form of Mike - but will she push away his good intentions after her painful divorce? She too spends a lot of time with Nicole and Aiden, also wanting to be near when she is needed. Bobbie is heading to Brighton university with Daniel, but still promises to be around to help her family. Mindful that Harry and Ann have their hands full with their growing family, and Aiden's needs, she knows she can juggle her studies and home responsibilities.
The third book in the Undeserved series finds Ann and Harry taking on more family responsibilities. Mike and Charlotte arrange their wedding with the hope that both Aiden and Nicole will be well enough to be there on the day, or the whole idea is off. What will happen?
More torment befalls Aiden, and his family continue to support and look after him. Bobbie suffers two terrible incidents - one after another - weeks before her exams that would put any student off, but bounces back surprisingly well with help from her knight in shining armour, Daniel. Charlotte and Mike's relationship blossoms, despite the difficulties of getting time together with Charlotte helping not only Nicole and Aiden, but Harry and Ann as well.
Aiden's health struggles are helped immensely by a new doctor to their surgery. Dr Ann Jacobsen is a respiratory specialist GP who has recently moved to the seaside town seeking a new life after her messy divorce. While treating him, she falls in love with his son, Harry. Soon the pair realise they have a lot in common and develop a loving partnership.Although Nicole and Charlotte no longer play competitively, they still get together for recreational tennis and Nicole at times helps out at Charlotte's classes. Theirs is a bond that is ever strengthening, something Nicole is grateful for as Aiden's health declines and her ability to cope also take a downward slide.Justin too is struggling to cope with his brother's illnesses, the strain beginning to take a toll on him mentally and physically. Lynn is a caring wife, and she splits her time between her family members, but Justin is unsure whether or not she will understand.
Everyone is struggling - Justin with his mental and physical health; Nicole with coping with the demands of looking after her poorly spouse; Lynn with trying to split herself in two dealing with both Aiden's and Justin's health problems.As grateful as Aiden is to have his family around to help and support him, he cannot shake the feeling that he is a terrible burden to them all. Charlotte moves in, temporarily at least, to help Nicole as Lynn and Justin are staying in Brighton with James and Jonathan while Justin recuperates.Harry and Ann too are nearby to help out, despite having their family double overnight when Harry's children from his first marriage suddenly come to live with them. The eighth book in the series reveals Jack and Zoe's relationship going beyond repair - or is it? Yvette's health deteriorates further, leading her to have several cardiac operations, all as a result from taking the miracle cure injection. Austin is, as usual, blaming himself for her downfall, his own health slipping. Tom and Emily have news, as does Kim. Their younger twin siblings are moving out of the family home and into their own place as part of growing up. It seems everyone is having a drastic life change at the same time!
With Austin and Yvette not yet recuperated from their trauma, Tom takes over Austin's idea for a weekend visit to an arboretum in autumn.It is a perfect getaway, and with his new partner Emily, Tom gets over his reluctance to be involved in another serious relationship after two previous heart breaks.After an unexpected hospitalisation, Austin has to resign from the Premiers for the good of his health. As Yvette's health also declines, the couple are thankful for Tom's permanence in their lives.
Now that the foursome have moved to a larger, shared house up on The Downs, Aiden and Nicole's seafront apartment is empty. But not for long as Aiden's son, Harry, seeks a fresh start after his surprise divorce. He also undergoes a trial to become Assistant Manager at Eastbourne Borough, the local football team.Whilst Aiden struggles with illness, Nicole vetoes invitations to play tennis all around the world - both with Charlotte and mixed doubles with Mike. Her concentration isn't there for her writing either. Eventually, she decides to take on publishing their books herself, unable to fulfil any company's demands - and unwilling to put anything in front of Aiden's health.Justin and Lynn too have a surprise in between all of this when their son, James, turns up unannounced with partner Jonathan.

She takes to it like a duck to water, and is relieved to have his managerial magic on her side when she agrees to play competitively. How far can she rise up the rankings?
As the idea of a third book is in Aiden's mind, once Nicole suggests it, and Justin's memoirs also in the pipeline, it is time for reminiscence of his career. When his thoughts turn to training up his replacement in the next few years, he is unsure if Austin is the man for the job. Jack takes the helm when Austin is absent and with his managing the school's under 13s to national level, he is the ideal candidate - or is he?Money can't buy health, so it is heartening that some friendships cannot be broken no matter what happens in life.

The couple liked it enough to marry in Eastbourne, so why not move there also?

Promising minimal stress and involvement for the rest of the family, she agrees to the idea only if she can oversee it.Christopher is adamant that he will also be involved. Aware of his promise to his brother to always look after Georgie, he knows her involvement in the project will bring back more than memories...Scenes are to be recorded in their Music House, and certain items put into storage years ago are brought out for filming. She hasn't lived in the property for years and when her new partner, Jeff, suggests that they build their own home together on the site, the house will soon be destroyed. Does she visit one more time and allow the ghosts of the past to envelop her?Christopher too is hesitant, but Anna convinces him that it is a good idea to do so before it is too late.

Jack and Zoe are pleased to find their lives are running smoothly, but are thrown by an unexpected announcement from their eldest daughter Kim.

What should be a restful weekend away at their Cornish retreat sees Yvette fall dangerously ill, and the decision is made to move to that part of the world permanently.Events see their friends Zoe and Jack also move to the area with their growing family, and so it seems that the foursome are meant to be living their very different lives there together.At the school football tournament, Austin plays when Tom, Zoe and Jack's eldest son, asks him to. A spectator at the match is owner of the local five-a-side Premiers team, Bob, who immediately wants to sign Austin up.But can he feasibly do this? Austin has to juggle his responsibilities at home, plus his own health concerns, so would becoming Bob's star signing work out?

It is a plan that contains a built in contingency - at any time, Aiden could be promoted to England Manager.After another shameful display leaves England not even qualifying for Euro competition, the inevitable call up is made.This will be the third World Cup that Aiden is involved in with the England team - will it be his hat-trick?
