Human life today is full of cares, anxieties, worries, complexities, unhappiness, and rat-races all over the world. Most people do not know that causes of our miseries lie mostly in our faulty and defective house building architecture - whether in dwelling units, business premises or any other constructions, inviting adverse cosmic interplanetary influence. This can easily be avoided and life can be made happier and peaceful with harmonious relationships, glories of success and achievements if the knowledge of the rich ancient Indian proven Architectural Science called "Vastu Shastra" is adhered to right from selection of a plot of land to completion of construction. The effect is magical. The book, "The Need of Vastu Shastra" is an honest and philanthropic effort and attempt of the author in plain words and candid language to open the door of the lighthouse of knowledge of this ideal Architectural Science to the people at large to make their life happier and easier. The book can be termed an encyclopedia of ideal architectural science and a panacea for all peacelessness and unhappiness of human life. The book deals with Ancient Indian architectural science of building constructions technology, equilibrium with directional alignment of magnetic field, energy sources of nature, positioning of five elements, and material to ensure prosperity and happiness. It gives a picturesque description of how a complete balance of the five elements, Fire, Air, Space, Earth, and Water, are associated with premises and construction controls prosperity, fortune, peace, and harmony in life. The book also deals with the subject of how Vastu of an existing defective construction can be corrected without demolishing it. It is a must-read book for all equally - one having an existing construction or one intending to construct one. Certain colored images have been provided in the book.

This is an attempt to remember him "El Chocolatito" and recount his adventures. How he was born shall remain a mystery, but what he did is laid bare in front of you. He spoke the language of food for that was the one that his heart bled in its barest of moments when he could not speak the local tongue and the food bound El Chocolatito to the place and me to El Chocolatito in a way that is not plausible differently. This book in essence is a cookbook but at the same time, it is an ode to infallible, goliath personalities of women who just didn't shape El Chocolatito, but have provided form to those within their presence. They are the epicentre of the vibration that breathes life into everything around them, they are in sync with nature and their nurture has transformed the bare to the abundant green.

India is a country of villages. A total of 68.8 percent of the Indian population lives in villages. Direct access and participation of this large population of villages in the government has been ensured only through Panchayati Raj System. There has been a lot of talk in the initial decades of independence regarding rural development. During that time writing work has also been done on subjects like rural development. But in the current circumstances in the country likely last two decades many topics have remained untouched in rural development. The Panchayati Raj Institutions got the constitutional form in the year 1993 thereafter writing work in this area has reduced relatively. In fact thereafter Panchayati Raj Institution's duties and rights have increased. Whereas the process of transfer of powers has been slow due to which Panchayati Raj institutions have not been able to establish a credible identity as local governments.

"History of Deceptions" is an English translation of 'Prati-itihas'. Originally published in Marathi, Prati-itihas is recipient of the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award - 2009, by Maharashtra State Government's Minority Commission for 'propagating Communal Harmony by presenting true history'. It is an attempt to expose distortions introduced in the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and it's socio-political impact on the state of Maharashtra as well as the Indian subcontinent. These distortions are creation of an organised syndicate to deceive the masses and cause communal disharmony, to sustain caste supremacy and to gain political mileage. Over the last two centuries they have successfully confined Chhatrapati Shivaji's enormity to the boundaries of particular religion, caste, language and region. Furthermore his glorious era has been reduced to a few popular events, mainly wartime feats. The extent of distortions spans from crediting individuals belonging to a particular caste for his glorious achievements to the contemptuous character assignation of Chhatrapati Sambhaji. A radicalised fragmented society, polarised socio-political environment and communal discord that we witness today are the outcome such relentless deceiving propaganda."History of Deceptions" examines the fringe elements for their iniquitous role of introducing distortions in history, selective misrepresentations, false propaganda and causing socio-political disruptions. It questions the motivation of such exercises and the authenticity of their version of history. The loop is later closed with a authentic version of history presented with coeval historical facts and references. This authentic version of history should cross the boundaries of the Marathi audience and reach curious minds across the world. The objective is to counter the deceptions and eliminate the communal discord, caste supremacy, social inequality by propagating ideologies of the prudent king, Chhatrapati Shivaji.Hopefully, this attempt will succeed in its objective.About the Author: Chandrashekhar Shikhare retired as Executive Engineer in Public Works Department (PWD), Maharashtra. He is a civil engineer by profession but an avid student of history, philosophy and psychology. In an award-winning career of 37 years, he has closely witnessed the socio-political fabric, beliefs, customs and awareness of history across the state. His 'Prati-itihas' published in 2004, was awarded the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award in 2009. He has also authored several books including 'Swarajyache Prerna Stotra' and 'Chhatrapati Sambhajirajanchi Sangarshgatha'.Shikhare was member a committee of historians, setup by State Government of Maharashtra to adjudge whether Dadoji Konddeo was mentor, coach or tutor to Shivaji at any point in the history. He is member of the governing body of Shivdharm and is closely associated with several progressive movements including Maratha Seva Sangh.Khushwant Pawar is a professional with over 2 decades of corporate experience and that has nothing in common with history. Yet, a non-fiction reader within him has been following history in his quest for truth. He has an intense curiosity about historical incidents and how they could have transpired, to the extent that he questioned contents of 'Prati-itihas' as well. Over 7-8 years of efforts, he built understanding on the same and only then included those topics in the translation. He firmly believes in a progressive society where one has the right to ask questions and express dissent. In this maiden attempt at translation, he aims to convey the author's views in an unadulterated manner, with the hope that 'The History of Deceptions' will propagate truth beyond the lingual boundary.

The book gives the details of thin shell roofs using concrete. No structural form perhaps does greater justice to the special attributes of concrete than thin shell construction. They derive strength through form rather than through mass. Of late, there is a great demand for large span roofs for buildings due to various functional requirements like sports stadia, convention centres, theatres, exhibition halls etc. I am giving an overview of some selected structures with large span concrete roofs.. It includes the design parameters, choice of construction materials, selection of structural system and the construction techniques adopted. The analysis and design of large span concrete roofs is indeed a challenging and interesting job compared to conventional roofs. In addition to a careful consideration of all critical load combination on the structure, analysis of the structural behaviour, during different stages of construction, if different from that of the fully built structure and final design are all essential steps for the successful realization of a large span structure. In this book I have discussed different types of shell structures. Most of them are either built or under construction and a few of them are yet to be constructed. Creep is an important aspect in concrete that is time dependent deformation and in shells the creep is to be taken care of.The development of concept design for shell and spatial structures is an art by itself and it depends on many factors like, type of roof, construction methodology, function, aesthetics etc. Recent availability of advanced computer softwares even for a small design office, facilitates usage of complex forms and shapes. Thin concrete shells consume the least amount of materials both cement and steel. Specially, important point is minimum consumption of cement. Shells are environmental friendly.I am quite sure this book will definitely highlight and gives an answer 'WHY BUILD SHELL STRUCTURES"

The book is an attempt to cover contemporary architecture of India from 1985 to 2021. It traces the history of architecture by covering most of the buildings built during this period. This publication is an endeavour to cover works of small cities, towns and villages which require a different kind of tackling altogether, as skilled manpower is not easily available at such places. Required machinery and equipment to construct buildings are not available either. The main body of work highlights projects catering to the lower and middle income groups, barring some exceptions of prestigious projects. Current issues from the field of architecture have been addressed in the book by quoting practical examples.

This book delves into the intricate fabric of human connections, exploring the nuances of relationships amidst the intricate tapestry of their genesis, evolution, and eventual dissolution. Within these pages lies a profound exploration of the dynamics that shape our bonds with others. Among the myriad bonds that link us, some are intrinsic, born of shared bloodlines, and imbued with a profound emotional depth. However, when the corrosive elements of selfishness, jealousy, and lust seep into these bonds, they gradually erode the foundations of affection, allowing the insidious grip of self-interest to take hold, ultimately leading to the fracture of once-solid relationships. Conversely, there are social connections, born of necessity, meticulously constructed to fulfill specific needs and desires. Occasionally, these connections assume a robust facade, seemingly surpassing the innate ties of kinship.Yet, when the malevolent forces of selfishness and jealousy infiltrate these bonds, they too succumb to fractures, revealing their vulnerability beneath the surface. Additionally, this narrative weaves the tale of an individual perpetually ensnared in the quagmire of indecision. This hapless soul grapples with the tormenting dilemma of choice, not only ensnaring themselves in unhappiness but also inflicting pain upon their nearest and dearest.

You want your experience of life to be mind-blowing. That is what everything finally boils down to. Isn't it? Whatever you may be pursuing in your life, all that you are essentially seeking is to intensify your experience of being Alive; all that you want is to feel high within you. But presently, this pursuit is happening rather haphazardly, and you are randomly chasing all kinds of intensities to jolt yourself with: pleasure, sex, chemical stimulation, relationships, recognition, power, and so on; and after a while, you inadvertently start sticking even to anger, misery, fear, and sometimes even pain. You begin gravitating towards intensities that do not blow you away, but break you up; intensities that do not enthuse you, but abuse your body and mind. And even when you manage to get overwhelmed by certain levels of sweetness, the results are accidental and short-lived. You abruptly catapult yourself to a high, but crash as soon as you take off. You are left smacking your lips much more than you have actually tasted anything. Why is this happening? What is it that is holding us back? Where are we going wrong? And what are we to do? Hasn't anyone looked into this already? Hasn't there been any orchestrated efforts towards understanding this issue and addressing it?Indeed there have been. If you want to be blown away by the immanent immensity of Life, there is a Math to it; and more importantly, there is a Melody to it. And that is what Spirituality is about. That is what the science of Yoga is about.

Life comes and goes, and we quickly let our minds and senses drift away like the gushing water of a river. It doesn't take a tremendous effort to initiate a short text, poem, or song lyric to record an account. It is surprising when a series of brief literary pieces strung together reveals 'life' (or part of it). Thus goes this book. This work is the voice of my existence and the portrayal of my story. Writing was a new and daunting experience for me. I struggled because I was never good at it, but I persevered, not minding the finished product. After months of producing essays and articles, I got accustomed to the exercise. Writing became an immersive task for me. Then, I got committed to completing a book.I am thrilled to share the memories embedded in my heart. As specks of the past resurface, they provoke my feelings of love, affection, peace, and contentment. This transpiring confluence of love and life is a whimsical way to enjoy the rest of my life.

It also acknowledges those who made this improbable journey possible.

'Alakshya' is a contemporary commentary on the subtle nature of reality which remains largely out of grasp in the absence of an intensified perception which can be attained through yogic practices. The commentary is presented in the form of short topical essays in English and poetic expressions in Hindi to provide a glimpse of the subtle based on Author's own exploration, perception, understanding and direct experience. The commentary draws on the profound expositions on the true nature of existence, the ultimate reality and human experience presented in ancient Sanskrit texts (such as the Upani¿ads, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Vijnana Bhairava) and philosophical systems (such as Samkhya, Nyaya, Advaita) to highlight their role in unmasking the reality. The Author also aims to lay special emphasis on the depth and sophistication of the science of Yoga through this work which extends far beyond postures and breathing techniques. This book is inspired by an endeavour to supply, those interested in undertaking their own exploration or investigation into the exact nature of reality and human experience, a simpler yet fuller perspective on subjects often considered esoteric and recondite.About the Author: Anupam Dubey was born in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in India. He lives in Mumbai with his family. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer engineering and a master's in business administration. Anupam has been working in the financial services industry in different capacities for over 14 years. He was initiated into Yoga in 2014. Yogic practices have effected an incredible transformation in his living experience since then by working on his body, mind, life energy, perception, receptivity, and memory generated from past actions. As he sees it, unbridled exploration and intensity are key for perceiving and experiencing reality as it is. Anupam is also deeply interested in delving into the timeless wisdom enshrined in ancient Sanskrit texts such as the Upani¿hads, Bhagavadgita, Tattvabodha, Saundarya- Lahari, and the like.
