Too often, gay people are led to believe that God made them gay and that He must therefore want them to be that way. Meanwhile, others believe that if you are gay, you cannot be saved. Brother Jeffries, who has been a pastor for more than thirty years, doesnt seek to criticize or condemn gay people, but he does seek to inform them and the public about what the Bible does and does not say about homosexuality.By looking to the Bible and the sinful nature that humanity took on after what happened in the garden of Eden, its clear that homosexuality is indeed a sinand a dangerous one that should not be trivialized. Fortunately, the Bible, which serves as an instruction manual for how to live life, provides us with insights to understand and resist homosexuality. The stakes are high: you can be sentenced to eternal torment, or you can seek to reap the rewards of eternal life in heaven by understanding how the Bible tells you to live your life, including what it says about the sin of homosexuality.

For author Sandra Leah, the death of her son Eric at the age of twenty-four after a battle with cancer was a tragic event. But Eric taught her that with love, and a great deal of faith, she could move on after the loss of a loved one. He taught her to be strong and never give up.In They Will Never Be Forgotten, Sandra shares her grief journey and parallels that with the life of Jesus Mother Mary. She draws careful ties between Marys loss of her son and her own, like any mother mourning the loss of a child. It narrates how Sandra found the strength to smile again and begin the healing process through her faith in God and the story of Mother Mary. She tells how the support of her daughter, friends, doctors, nurses, caregivers, and relatives held her up throughout the journey. They Will Never Be Forgotten gives strength and courage to people who have lost a loved one, who will lose a loved one, and to anyone who needs strength to carry on during a difficult time.
The year is AD 100, and in the cruel lands between Rome and the Cold Sea, an orphan boy meets a man named John the Revelatora man who will change his life forever. John speaks with the power of Christ, and the orphan finds the conversation fascinating. John finds a kindred spirit in the young boy, made even more apparent when John hands the mantle of Christ off to the young man and dubs him Christian. With his newfound title, Christian begins to realize that time and decay no longer touch him. Unlike other men of his world, Christian does not appear to age. Perhaps he is even incapable of dying. He sets off into harsh outer lands, spreading the word of Christ, as John instructed. It is during his travels that Christian comes upon the Lord at the edge of an abyss; only then does he discover his true purpose, in the name of God. Christian will stand as witness to mankind, until Christ returns to Earth. A historian of sorts, Christians life will span generations; he will act as exhorter and witness, awaiting the Lords arrival. As Christian comes to terms with his new existence, a battle of good versus evil rages nearby. Will Christian enter the battle? Is he really incapable of death? Or will Christs return come much sooner than planned?
Reasons New Converts Backslide investigates the patternmanifest too often in the life of the churchin which new converts to the Christian faith find the flames of their initial zeal for life in Christ fading to smoldering embers. The Gospel of Matthew is the first book in the New Testament. It truly is a teaching Gospel. It serves as an important resource for learning about the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The Apostles needed this teaching so that they could effectively form the foundation upon which the future Christian church would be built. They needed this teaching to obey the commandment which Jesus gave them: Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. (Matt.28:19-20)Using an easy-to-understand format, The Gospel of Matthew offers an in-depth study that reveals why Christs presence forever changed the world. Author Carol Walker explores the true nature of Jesus, his mission on Earth, and his ministry. From his birth to his death and resurrection, Walker recounts Jesus life and, in so doing, reveals how Jesus fulfilled Old Testament prophecy.Walker presents thirty-four lessons that cover the twenty-eight chapters of Matthew. Each chapter is summarized to provide historical and cultural background information and a question and answer section presents an opportunity for further discussion. Lessons include the important work of the Holy Spirit, the ministry of John the Baptist, the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus interpretation of the Ten Commandments, and much more. The Gospel of Matthew presents a comprehensive study for individuals or groups. If youre seeking to expand your knowledge of Jesus life and teachings and want to deepen your faith, let this be your guide.
Why do Christians believe what they believe? What is it about Christianity that makes us believe we have the one and only way to heaven? After all, would a loving and caring God actually send somebody to hell just because they happened to follow a teacher who got a few facts wrong? What about the area of science? How can we claim with confidence that the universe had a beginning and will have an end when renowned scientists and physicists have claimed that the universe is eternal? If there is no God, where do ethics and morality come from, and on what do we base our concept of right and wrong? In Why? A Believers Guide to Defending the Faith, author Doug Taylor helps Christians find the answers to those and other questions. This guide is divided into six main sections: understanding the Apologetics; determining if the Bible supports or prohibits us from looking for evidences of God and His work; basic differences between the occult, cults, and false religions; how the church and atheism are obstacles to Apologetics today; and a look at positive supports for the Christian worldview and Christianity at large. The final section is a recap and challenge to the reader moving forward.Written in easy-to-understand, unintimidating language, Why? is designed for new and veteran Christians. It will help prepare all Christians to explain to others the truths of their faith.

Jesus calls everyone to live as a Christian around the clock. Most law enforcement academies teach the law but not how law enforcement officers can exemplify the characteristics Jesus came to teachlove, compassion, integrity, ethics, morals, and valueswhen on duty. In The Gospel of Matthew through the Eyes of a Cop, author Charles Gilliland provides a daily devotional for anyone working in the criminal justice system. This guide provides training in basic, critical, and often neglected attributes that law enforcement officers must possess. Gilliland sets up each lesson so that it mirrors a law enforcement officers shift. The briefing section offers an idea of how to apply the lesson to daily duties, presenting a question or short statement on how the lesson relates specifically to law enforcement. The dispatch section lists the Bible verses for the lesson and prompts further reflection or research. The guide then goes on the street, getting to the heart of the lesson. Finally, each section concludes with a brief commentary to shed light on the passage studied. Whether used for individual or group study, The Gospel of Matthew through the Eyes of a Cop helps law enforcement officers put into practice the lessons Jesus taught. Following this devotional, they can find a way to do so effectively for the benefit of all.
In his book, Sam shares how God personally and radically intersects a persons life. When God enters our lives, it involves more than just a change in eternal destination, but also a vital transformation of the heart. After God initiates a faith relationship with Himself, He begins to teach us about Himself and how we are to relate to Him through His Word, through His Holy Spirit, and through everyday occurrences in the life of His child. In his book, Sam again and again relates to us how God works in our lives through the inspiration of His Word. Each devotion is about everyday experiences. Each one makes a specific application to Gods Word. The singular purpose of God in the life of His child is to conform us to the image of His Son. He accomplishes this as His Word is applied to our everyday lives. These devotions communicate to us the simplicity along with the profoundness of a loving Father manifesting His life and purposes to His child.Steve Poteat, pastor, Lake Martin Baptist Church

Our family celebrates God every day, from the time we wake up until the time we go to bed. In the morning, we read the Bible and praise God for all our blessings. During the day, we enjoy the beauty of nature given to us by God. In the evening, we think about every good moment, where we did the right thing, and then we think about the things that went wrong and ask Gods forgiveness. Our familys faith carries us through each day.Aiming at an elementary level of daily examinations of conscience, this illustrated childrens story seeks to support parents in the efforts to build strong Christian values in the families from their childrens earliest years. Through these words and illustrations, children may learn the importance of cheerfully striving to live out the greatest prayer in the Bible, the Lords Prayer (Matthew 6:913).
I went on a journey to find the truth about Gods Word and how it applied to my life. The first thing I discovered was that God wanted more for me than to rescue me from hell. Have you ever been confused about the basic foundations of the Christian faith? Author Tim Menser describes a time in his life when he began searching for the foundational truths of Christianity so he could be sure about what he believed. Sure: Knowing What You Believe and Why You Believe It presents the foundational truths of the faith in a simple-to-understand format. Menser explains the basic concepts of the faith such as the Bible, Trinity, Humanity, Sin, Salvation and the End Time in a straightforward manner that is both clear and Biblically grounded. All of the children who passed through our lives were angels, angels with broken wings. Most of the parents had been charged with abuse, neglect, or child endangerment. They came at any hour, day or night. The phone would ring, the proper car seat would be loaded into the car, and off we would bound to collect another angel. We would gather the precious bundles and set out to repair their broken wings. The angels appeared and stayed for hours, week, or even years. They came empty-handed, stealing pieces of our hearts as they passed through our lives. These are the stories of some of the many angels who have entered our hearts and lives for a brief time. It is my desire to touch your hearts as the angels have touched ours.
In February 2008, Alicia Crawley got the phone call every parent dreads: two of her children had been in a car accident. Her son, Jonathan, was fine, but by the time Alicia arrived at the scene minutes later, her sixteen-year-old daughter, Lauren, had died. In the days that followed, Alicia, who until then had had a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, was plunged into the dark pit of grief, unable even to feel Gods presence. His seeming silence left her spiritually paralyzed. Alicia barely recognized herself or her life, but she kept going to Gods word, seeking comfort, understanding, and purpose. She came to realize that He had never left her but that she hadnt been able to hear Him over the roar of her pain. Deeply thoughtful, honest, and unafraid to ask difficult questions, Alicia shares here what she learned about suffering, about heaven, and about listening to and trusting God. Although support groups, individual therapy, and medication can all help at a time of profound loss, Wonderful Counselor assures us that the Holy Spirit is the ultimate source of wisdom and healing. For Alicia, turning to God provided more than comfort; it oriented her family toward the future and toward opportunities to reach the lost and broken around them in ways and in places they never could have imagined. Surrendering their beloved Lauren took on meaning they never thought possible. Guided by the Spirit, they have allowed her legacy to become one of hope and joy.
