A mother must climb out of a second-story window of a townhouse onto the slanted roof, walk across the roof, and climb through another second-story window to find her daughter has passed away. As she experiences the overwhelming sadness of a deceased thirty-three-year-old daughter, she explains over forty-one occurrences of the Lords intervention. Included in the interventions is an EMT on sight, a basket of love, a thirty-fourth birthday party, and a vision of heaven. The chapter Letters of Love is letters she received from the EMT himself and other women who have experienced a similar tragedy. These letters of love contain so much sincerity and pouring out of love and compassion that your heart tenders as you see how this mother is embraced. She attends a Night of Remembrance, where she places a dove on a Christmas tree in honor of her daughter. That dove with her daughters name on it is now a new Christmas tradition on her own Christmas tree. She tells how she managed the first Christmas holiday without her daughter. At the Celebration of Life for her daughter, the unexpected surprises she learns about her daughter are overwhelming. She realizes she did not know her daughter as she thought she did. The burden of a second tragedy strikes when she receives the shocking news from the medical examiner explaining the cause of death. The raw emotion revealed in Window of Grace sustains healing by the love of the Lord and His people.

  • - Overcoming Our Days of Doubt
    av Chris Foote
    171 - 355,-

I dont know about you, but I have to take some comfort in the story of Peters going down into the water. Please dont think me unkind! But how worthless would I feel with my level of unbelief if he had no doubt in him whatsoever as he ventured onto the waters? How low would my head sink, thinking of my unbelief, if he kept the faith and did cartwheels on top of the water? He mightve even started to Riverdance all over the sea! But he didnt. He was human, just like you and me. I mean, he was a disciple who saw the miracles firsthand. He journeyed with Jesus and witnessed the paralyzed walk, the blind see, and the mute speak. And now, he actually sees Jesus walking on the water! What else does he need to see? Nothing. After all this, Peter has the faith to volunteer to step out of the boat and onto the water with Jesus. Wow! How amazing is that? That is beyond courageous in my book. I wonder if he waited with bated breath for Jesus to agree to his request. I wonder if he stepped out of the boat with fear and trepidation, waiting for something firm below his feet or if he pushed his brother Andrew and Bartholomew out of the way to leap onto the waves. Regardless, it didnt take long before the soggy platform started to diminish. And the passage says all he saw was the wind, and down he went. But there Jesus was, with a helping hand to save him and to ask him why he doubted. Its as if Jesus was asking, Aint you seen enough of me to trust me? What else do you want from me before you believe? And I think He has said that to us many times too.

  • - Hear God'S Voice Become the Man God Sees in You
    av Michael Mavromatis
    186 - 384,-

If the gospel is intended to set us free, help us discover life, and become more than who we are right now, then why is it that many men struggle with Christianity? Why do so many good men find church so unattractive? Why cant I as a man find my place in this life?Forget about tips and techniques; they are fine if you want to create a spreadsheet, bake a cake, or fix your engine. What we need is to rediscover our design. What was God thinking when He created you as a man? What is His offer? And once we find it, how do we become the men God intended us to be from the very beginning? The gospel is a message of restoration. What we need most is to see our relationship restored with our true Father if we are ever to become the men God sees in us. We must learn to hear His voice. Christianity was never intended to be a religion. However, it was always meant to be a relationship, originating from the heart.

What does it mean to walk with God? Enoch knew. In fact, he knew so well that one day he walked right into Gods eternal home without dying. Now that was a walk!A life walk involves all the activities that intersect with our lives every day. If we walked like Enoch or like righteous Noah, what would those intersections of appointments, meetings, meals, sport games, telephone conversations, text messages, meetings with friends, and discussions with family members look like? All those giants of faith listed in Hebrews 11 walked with God and are examples to us of walking in faith with God. Noah believed God would send a flood and built an ark even though he had never seen rain. Joshua and the Israelites, Deborah and Barak, Jephthah, and Gideon had faith for miraculous victories in battle. Rahab choose to leave her life of prostitution, married, and became part of the lineage of Christ. Samson asked for one last triumph of strength and fulfilled Gods plan for his life. The author unmasks the lives of eight less-known giants of faith and reveals their triumphant acts of faith and the head-hanging weaker moments not mentioned in Hebrews 11. What can these unbelievable stories mean to us? Open these pages and see.

  • - Declaring Jesus as Lord
    av Spencer Traver
    186 - 384,-

21 Promises combines the clarity of the gospel and the authenticity of life stories to accurately reveal the abiding promises of God displayed in our lives. In some cases, we fail to recognize Gods presence as we endure present times. However, the beauty of the gospel comes to a brief fruition when we step away from the window and observe Gods sustaining work arising in each of our days. The purpose of focusing on the promises of God found in Scripture originates from a lack of Biblical understanding in our generation. As young adults in a liberal society, the value of gathering an accurate understanding of Gods promises remains crucially important. Friends, family, and professors might teach or share false ideas about God, prompting young adults to doubt his existence, his goodness, and his authority. With the help of Scripture, 21 Promises teaches adults, young and old, to understand with their minds and believe with their hearts in the unfailing promises of God. Likewise, the creative narrative of this book allows the reader to witness stories from a first-person perspective before reflecting on Gods promises as a third-person party. In essence, the hope of this book focuses on the readers observation of the promises of God displayed in Scripture and real life events, regardless of their history and knowledge of God. Without Gods promises, we live confused lives; yet, he makes himself present and available through these divine revelations.

  • - P.S. I Love and Forgive You
    av Stella Louise
    232 - 414,-

This novel has a pronounced Christian theme but centers on notions, such as forgiveness, that are all-inclusive. Louise doesnt focus on the mystery of who shot Paul, but still has fun by teasing plot twists. At its best, an engaging story of surviving tragedy with a universal, moral message.Kirkus ReviewBecause of mistaken identity, Edmond was severely beaten, shot, and left for dead. They left him with a loss of memory. As he worked on regaining his identity and learning who tried to kill him and why, he meets and helps Denise who is struggling in her endeavors to forgive her deceased husband for his infidelity, and her grandmother for her adulterous affair. When Denise learns of her husbands death, she also learns someone wanted to assassinate him. Two people who she loved dearly had betrayed her trust and it became difficult for her to trust again. The old adage, Time heals all wounds, did not apply to Denises life. Her wounds were not healing with time. There were times when she felt numb, paralyzed from a life of people whom she loved, but she felt that love in her life was a world filled with deception. While both Denise and Edmond worked through the challenges in their lives, they learned the truth about the attempt on Edmonds life. The attempted assassination of Denises husband changed their lives forever.

We all tell white lies to others and, even worse, to ourselves. We do something wrong and instead of acknowledging it, learning from it, and moving on, we lie, saying it was due to circumstances outside ourselves. Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, for each one should carry his own load. Gal. 6:45 NIVGenesis 3:12 NIV, The man said, The woman you put here with meshe gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it. As long as there has been a record of man, humans have chosen to blame someone else for their wrongdoings. For you and me, it does not have to be that way. We can change and take responsibilities for our own actions.

One of the things that is heavily neglected in the average Christians life is the spiritual gifts he or she has been given by God.First Timothy 4:14 says, Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Many of Gods people do not have a clue about any spiritual gifts, let alone what spiritual gift or gifts they might have. Out of the many benefits that we can get from knowing our spiritual gifts is that when known, it gives us a strong indication on how God intends to use us. Due to this, it also plays a great part in knowing Gods will for the individual believers life. Putting your spiritual gift to practice and use means God will use you in a greater way with the spiritual gifts than without them.

I was laughing out loud when reading some parts, like at Bible school. Love Vepurua, JournalistThe book is really interesting, worth reading. I totally agree with the epilogue. • - Blessings from God
    av Judith Drummond
    171 - 355,-

This book was written to encourage people facing a life-threatening illness, in the case of the author, nonalcohol cirrhosis of the liver. One of my doctors said, If you dont get a liver transplant soon, you are going to die. What a statement to hear from your doctor! This doctor, who is a caring and compassionate person, referred me to the Liver Center at Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts. As I found out, getting a new liver is not quick, and definitely not easy. The power of prayer is evident throughout this entire crisis. Judy received many blessings and miracles throughout this grueling journey. I was told I had Factor 5, which is a blood clotting problem, therefore I could not have a live donor liver. This meant I had to wait and pray a cadaver liver could be found before I would die from liver disease. Through prayers, blessings, and miracles, the doctors said they would do a live-donor liver transplant. My niece became my liver donor after having difficulty finding a donor. If you have ever been thrust into a life threatening situation, this book will interest you.
