Everything Is Symbolic is a compilation of blog posts-366 of them, to be exact. So it's also a devotional. I grew up reading and listening to the King James Version of the Bible. Alongside this, I developed a seriously fluid imagination and mind (what with all the emergent media of the eighties). If I hadn't had the former, the latter would have driven me mad as the inevitable "e;storms of life"e; came to me during my twenties. Herein are the distilled thoughts in the wake of those events, presented one day, one thought at a time.

Why Cant I Love My Pastors Wife was written to expose and unsilence the truth about the pastors wife and how she is often treated in the church. Attitudes concerning the pastors wife have been one of the hindering forces that have hindered the church from going forth. There has been a masquerade in the church that says that everything is well. This area has been completely silenced too long. In this book, Shonda Little asks a very thought-provoking question. She asks, Why cant I love my pastors wife? In this very personal and heartfelt book, she manages to address this very sensitive question through her personal experiences as a pastors wife and through the Bible. Romans 15:7 tells us to receive ye one another as Christ also received us to the glory of God. This means that we are to receive the pastors wife as well as the pastor. The church has to love and accept the pastors wife because they are one. They cannot be separated. You cannot love the pastor on the scale of ten and love the wife on the scale of five. This area has been an underlying factor that has been in the church to keep it hindered and divided. There must be unity in this area in the church. When this happens, there is division. The devil uses this to cause division in the church. God said that where there is unity, there is strength. This book will unsilence this area in the church so that the church can move forward in unity and the love of God.

She eventually shared the first few entries with her husband. His response was, 'Publish this into a book. Other people would benefit from our experiences by learning how to walk with God.' Each devotional is tied to a real life experience that Rebecca has lived as a young adult, a newlywed, an educator, or as a friend. Pursuing Gods grace can take nearly a lifetime, and sometimes we do not know where or when it will begin to show itself. The first two quarters of my life had been consumed with a quest for peace, happiness, but more importantly, grace. What I didnt realize until most recently is that all three of these were always well within my grasp, much closer than I ever realized. I was given the same opportunities, and I possessed some of the same qualities as many others that I knew. Was I at the top of my class? No. However, I did graduate with honors, but I chose to stop my education through books and school at a young age. My life experiences after that taught me a great deal; however, the gnawing inside of me to further my education never left. Follow my journey as I attempt to find that grace thats been missing throughout my life, hidden among the thorns and thistles that tore at my heart until the time I pursued writing a journal about my experiences. All the while, I peered through the fogginess, eventually revealing the light of Gods grace that he had always granted to me without fail. Lisas upbeat approach to life and her appreciation for Gods love is remarkable. You will notice that character trait as soon as you meet her. However, reading her soul in her words is heart warming and touching. - Donna Melber, rural school elementary teacher, Christian and Aunt Donna by marriage, whom God so richly blessed by bringing her family into my life. It is a real joy watching Lisa follow her Lord into life and ministry to see how He is showering her with His Grace. I found her book A Year Full of Grace filled with compelling reflections on Gods grace and timing as she looks back upon her life story. Enjoy her words and how she draws Gods grace into her story. - Mike Hays, Rimrock Church
This book was written to be of assistance to those receiving the shattering news of a loved one entering or already in the throes of Alzheimers. When the sad reality of my husbands diagnosis was confirmed, I searched for a book to help me in the day-to-day routine to just get by. I found books with reams of statistics and warnings of terminal certainty but nothing helpful for coping on a daily basis. Im sharing here a few of the coping mechanisms that were helpful to me. Each caregiver will experience obstacles unique to their loved one. Hopefully, some of my techniques will be of help on this sad journey. There are over five million people in the U.S. currently living with Alzheimers. That number is expected to more than double by 2050. This is a very scary statistic indeed. There is a small measure of comfort in knowing you are not alone. My hope is that this book will also give a measure of comfort.

You cannot understand this book if you dont read this preface. I almost subtitled this book A Christian Health Revolution because it is a truly revolutionary way to view health and how we ought to view the temple, our body, that God has given us. The ideas in this book will change your view of how health is actually obtained. It will challenge your understanding of your body and your obligation to honor it. It will cause you to waken your obligation to honor one of Gods most precise gifts, your body. Whether you are Christian or not, you will never think of yourself, your life and body in the same way after reading this book. The health protocol explained in this book is the next revolution in Christianity. This revolution concerns the recognition that the temple of God is within us because our body literally is a temple of God. And it is a far more important temple than one built of wood, steel and brick. Do not feel that I am either accusing or ridiculing you about your present lifestyle and eating habits. On the contrary, this book is meant to encourage you to become aware of what God wants for us. If you desire to be amongst those who God calls His followers, then adopting this health protocol even to the slightest degree will help bring you closer to God. That I promise you.

Second coming of Christ becomes a reality. This individual sees his error in not believing so does all he can to get God to give him a second chance. This is the story of a mans goal to reach into the heart of God proving he was ignorant and arrogant of such a great calling of God to be saved through faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. He attempts, even giving his own life, to see if his voice had been heard by God who created all that there is! Jesus Christs return may happen today or a thousand years from now, but God will bring it to pass, guaranteed! This book was written with one purpose in my mind-to scare, frighten the hell out of you for what you are about to read, but trust me His coming is as sure as the sun rising each day, and life and death. This book was written to keep your soul secure in heaven under the blood spilled for us by Jesus Christ.Gary Vochatzer, AuthorThe Bible clearly explains how people can be spiritually prepared for the events leading up to the Return of Christ and for eternity. People should live expecting His return in their lifetime. Gary vividly describes the anguish for a family and their community who were caught off guard. Pastor Wayne BibelheimerQuail Lakes Baptist Church Stockton, CA
There have been many books written on this topic, but this book is sure to be different than any you have read before. All who have read the manuscript said they gained new insights into these spiritualities. The author takes a look at the modern charismatic movement from its start at Azusa Street and follows it to what it has grown into today. His point is that, to be a truth seeker, you cant be afraid to take these issues head-on. He discusses the baptism in the Holy Spirit, a totally different view on gifts, true biblical empowerment (strength through weakness, the Paul model), and thirty-three things we receive the instant we become Christians. The last and hardest chapter to write was the topic of the modern-day tongues movement. Is it biblical? Is there a real and a counterfeit? and how can it be tested based on the Bible?

It is the true story of my friend, a man who discovers he is blessed and chooses to bless others.
I was challenged as a young Christian woman by the notion that, as Christians, we should be distinctly different from others around us. According to Gods Word, when we trust in Christ as our Savior, we become a new creation, but that is not what I saw. I asked God, If this is trueand I know your Word is truewhy are so few Christians actually being transformed? Why am I not being transformed? This devotional is the culmination of the lessons that followed those questions. God does not instantly transform us into new creatures. The evidence is clear on that! The instant we accept Christ as our Savior we are declared completely righteous, but the process of transformation continues for the rest of our lives. As I learned to apply Gods truth to my daily life, he has been faithful to transform what was broken into something beautiful. He took my fears and taught me to live by faith. He took my strife and taught me to live in peace. He taught me to trade my anger and bitterness for love and forgiveness. I have learned to trust instead of doubt. I am filled with hope instead of hopelessness, and my sorrow has been turned to joy. He took my feelings of worthlessness and helped me to understand my value in his eyes.I believe it is my calling to share with others how God longs to transform their lives too. We can stay as we are, or we can allow God to teach us a better way. With his Spirit to empower us, we can continue becoming the people he intended us to be. I hope you will join me on this journey to becoming new!
