This initial journey into the realm of Christian fiction is the result of a dream I had that just stuck with me. I thought this could be a book or a movie or both. It came to me in two scenesthe first and the last. That is, I knew how it was to start, and I knew how it was to end. I sat down and wrote the beginning, and every time I sat down to write more, God supplied. It was a very unique experience. I felt as though I was reading the story rather than writing it. God is faithful.A retired high school special-education teacher, Homer Bryan, has mostly written poetry prior to this endeavor. He is a Vietnam veteran and has been active in church and various ministries most of his adult life. He is blessed to have been married to his sweet wife for forty-seven years. The Lord has also blessed him with three children. Their spouses and seven grandchildren are all precious. God is faithful.

Gods Divine Interventions is a very touching story of an eleven-year-old boy from Papua New Guinea whose hope was gone when told by neurosurgeons at Port Moresby General Hospital that nothing could be done to remove a mass (tumor), the size of a golf ball sitting on the left side of his brain stem. Further, the mass was blocking out fluids that were compressing his brain, causing those severe headaches and, more alarmingly, threatening his eyesight. Lacking proper medical equipment and expertise in the country, the only solution was an overseas trip that would cost a lot of money. This was a luxury the family couldnt afford, and time being of essence as fluids kept building up, the only hope was to leave it all in Gods hands. Gods Divine Interventions shares the emotional experiences of a broken mother pleading for her sons life at the feet of Jesus. It is an inspirational story that will hold your mind in awe of how God works when there seem to be no way at all.

The growth of a diamond is a lengthy and meticulous process. As Gods precious gemstones, we were created by Him for a marvelous purpose. Allow no one to determine your value or limit your God-given potential. You are destined to achieve great things! First and foremost, I want to thank the Lord for his healing power. Cancer is a word no one wants to hear, but it was my diagnosis five years ago. The Word of God has produced faith in my life, and its with this faith that the Lord healed my body. I had every intention on testifying for his mighty work in my life, but he gave instructions not only to testify verbally but also to pen it. I give him all the honor and glory for the many times he has come my way and healed my body. There is no better way to praise him than to tell of his marvelous works. I also want to share with the world the tools needed to battle in the spirit and to come out victorious. May this be a blessing to all who read this book.

To avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing, be nothing. Aristotle At the age of 37 I learned to see criticism as a valuable tool, rather than something to be avoided or feared. This came about in the life-altering workshop with Dr. John Savage. My eyes were opened to the possibility, wisdom and power of intentional communication including criticism. This change improved my relationships: personally, family, socially, professionally, academically, financially and with myself profoundly. I confess that up to that point in my life, I had pretty much taken relationships for granted. From that point forward I have endeavored to continually learn about communication and relationships. I now know that it is possible to present and respond to criticism without making things worse, without adding fuel to the fire. I now know that potentially explosive situations can be skillfully defused or diffused, so that people can dance rather than fight, even in difficult situations. I now know that people can move from conflict to conversation and acknowledge the observation and experience of the person offering criticism. This approach makes way for possibilities other than the fight or flight syndrome, manifested as a skunk or turtle mode of survival. Occasionally, there are freeze responses resulting in a stalemate. Fight or flight offers the option of going into battle or waving the white flag of surrender, yielding merely a winner and a loser with no resolution.
