  • - Do you want to get rich? Learn from rich people!

This book is a culmination of experiences put into writing. They are not just my experiences, but the experiences of the tens of thousands of investors I have had the opportunity to teach, the tax returns and financial data of so many successful investors that I have had the opportunity to review, and the experiences of fellow teachers. Many of the strategiesherein were designed in conjunction with some fantastic investors who have achieved amazing results. For example, when I write about the stock market landlord, I rely heavily on Markay Latimer, a friend and investor, whom I knew in 1999 when she took a $2,000 stock trading account and grew it to over $2 million. Without her input and assistance, I never would have been able to put into words what has been a blessing for so many. Or Jerry Guite, who was the source of so ma ny introductions to successful entrepreneurs and investors throughout my life and a key encourager for me to create my own path. There are many others who provided input and inspiration including David McShane, Erik Dodds, Michael Kramer, Aaron Adams, Clint Coons, Patti Peery, Michael Bowman and David Gass, just to name a few; but the point is that this is not a work of one man's opinion. This is a path paved by the experiences of many that I simply point out so that you can follow their example and get similar results.

  • - Effective Tools to Heal Trauma and Improve your Life

For several decades, psychology has focused on treating conditions like trauma through the mind alone. Perhaps, like so many clients when they first walk through my door, you have sought to treat your symptoms and challenges through conventional means but feel like there's still a missing piece in your healing.Learning that memories, experiences, and emotions are stored not just in the mind but also the body opens up a new pathway to healing for many of my clients. This, in essence, is what somatic therapy strives to do-and what the information and tools in this book are designed to help you achieve. When I first started my own process of healing and personal development in therapy, I was in my early thirties. Although I had some wonderful therapists and gained a lot of insight about my history, there continued to be amissing piece for me. One morning as I sat in my thera pist's office, I thought to myself, "What about my body? We never talk about what's happening in my body."My first career was as an actor and a singer, and then a teacher of voice and movement for actors. The overall aim of voice and movement training is to help actors awaken new connections between the voice, body, and mind through a process of physical awareness, imagery, breath work, and the progressive release of physical tension. As I began training actors and working directly with students' bodies, what I repeatedly encountered withmy students was somatic memory and unprocessed trauma. As students worked in a safe environment with my support, and often the support of a group of other students, they became more aware of tension in their bodies. They were then able to release that tension, allowing them to let go and experiences that had been directing their day-to-day experience. At a certain point, coaching actors for theatrical purposes began to feel like an interruption to the more essential healing process that I was interested in, and that is when I became a psychoanalyst.Somatic focus has been the fundamental aspect of my own therapeutic journey, and I have worked with hundreds of individuals who have said that talk therapy wasn't enough; it was the incorporation of a somatic practice that finally changed their relationships with themselves. This book is intended to help you work through any life transitions you might be experiencing. With that said, if you have ongoing physical health symptoms or suffer from debilitating anxiety and depression, you should seek out a medical professional. This book is not a replacement for therapy, medication, or medical treatment.

Chrysanthemums are for condolences, rue is for regret, and rosemary is for remembrance. The Victorian language of flowers-also called floriography-emerged as a clandestinen method of communication at a time when proper etiquette discouraged open and flagrant displays of emotion. First emerging in 1819 with Charlotte de la Tour's Le langage des fleurs, this coded "language" was used widely throughout the nineteenth century in both England and America and today is synonymous with Victorian tradition and culture.Flower meanings were taken from literature, mythology, religion, medieval legend, and even the shapes of the blooms themselves. Often, florists would invent symbolism to accompany new additions to their inventory, and occasionally, flowers had different meanings depending on the location and time. Young women of high society in this era embraced the practice, sending bouquets as tokens of love or warning, wearing flowers in their hair or tucked into their gowns, and celebrating all things floral. Many of themcreated small arrangements of flowers, called tussie-mussies or nosegays, by combining a few blooms in a small bouquet. Worn or carried as accessories, these coded messages of affection, desire, or sorrow allowed Victorians to show their true feelings in an enigmatic and alluring display. As the era came to an end and the First World War began, the language of flowers faded in popularity. Traces of the tradition remain, however. We still use roses to convey love at weddings and on Valentine's Day, lilies for peace, and mums for condolences. The elegance and beauty of flowers have not dwindled-only our knowledge of their coded meanings. I hope this book, apart from offering a view into the history of floriography, will encourage readers to look at flowers and herbs in a new way, perhaps assigning theirown meanings to the blooms that inspire them most.

The narrator, a passionate yoga practitioner since his teenage years, becomes a yoga teacher after eleven years of rigorous asana practice. Initially feeling too young and unqualified, he enrolls in a teacher training course under the guidance of Cyndi Lee. This experience motivates him to become a teacher. After the training, he joins a community of like-minded yogis, desiring to live in harmony with nature and mindful of their choices. Teaching yoga was uncommon at the time, but the narrator perseveres, and by 1998, with the growing popularity of yoga, he transitions from a fledgling teacher to a sought-after one. However, commercialization brings challenges, with debates about diluting ancient yoga ideas and the elitist perception due to celebrity adoption. In 2010, the narrator meets Taro Smith, and together they develop an online course for yoga teachers, addressing the challenges of teaching yoga in a crowded market. With the success of the course, they establish their company, 90 Monkeys, dedicated to providing online and in-person educational resources for yoga teachers
