"THE TRUE STORY OF THE MOUNTAIN GIRL.""Was this craziness? Was I really leaving my country, my family and friends, my house that I had built with my bare hands from the ground up, or was it just a test of my ability? 'Wake up, woman,' the voice resounded in my head."From a traumatic childhood in Albania, growing up under the strict communist regime, this intensely inspiring true story is one of bravery and perseverance. It's a tale of danger, trafficking, violence and escape, but also about finding the inner strength to survive and thrive in building a new life in England.

Gordon Deighton looks back on a career or three and around half a century - a Great War, the Revolution in those 'Swinging Sixties' (menswear, theatre, films, sex, rock 'n' roll, drugs ) and Supper - Cabaret's last gasp at the Ritz Hotel in the 80s. As witness and participant, "Doin' What Comes Naturally", in a most colourful and passionate period in history, there was a quality of life there for the asking. Today, the passion is technology, computers, internet, Facebook, texts and tweets. Back in the 18th Century, the French philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau questioned the costs of progress. Now, everything is moving at a far greater pace with our' Celebrity Culture' and inflated incomes but is the quality of life suffering greatly? In 2012, Mark Pagel, the world's leading expert on human development, wrote in his "Wired for Culture" ... "As our societies become even more connected and globalized it will become increasingly easy for most of us not to innovate at all, to become lazy and docile, at least in matters of inventiveness".

Year 61 AD in the untamed Roman province of Britannia, where after almost twenty years of brutal occupation, several tribes continued their struggle to maintain independence.Foremost amongst them were the midland Coritani, whose warriors, following their wolf-head battle-stave, were much feared by their enemies; possessing territory only second in size to that of their northern neighbour, the Brigante; a restless people ruled over by their treacherous queen, Cartimandua. With an eye to exercising further control over this unruly region, Rome made the dubious offer of client kingship to the ageing Coritani king, Volisios; a move, if accepted, could create a formidable buffer zone against possible threats emerging from beyond the unmapped northern frontier.Deliberating on what was best for the Coritani nation, set against a backdrop of growing unease concerning Rome's intention to attack the defiant Druidical stronghold on the Isle of Anglesey, would deeply divide Volisios' sons, prince Armet and his maverick younger brother Gort, leading to loyalties being questioned and eventual betrayal.Straba of Catania, Greek slave to the youthful legate, Cerialis, ambitious commander of Rome's ill-fated Hispania legion, while exercising a dogged determination, bore witness to these unfolding events, gaining grudging respect from both Roman and Keltoi alike. This is their story, shifting between the majesty of Rome and the half-built townships and fortresses of a volatile Britain, in the months which culminated in the bloody rebellion led by Boudiga, warrior queen of the Iceni.

There is absolutely no doubt that the final nail in Boris's coffin was his mishandling of the "Pincher Affair". This episode led to all sorts of upheaval; including two changes of Prime Minister, a loss of standing in the world for G.B. inc. and repercussions that affected everyone's life in this country. I believe that this Grey-Haired Old Brummie may well have had some input, indirectly, into this chain of events. His continual bombardment of e-mails to Pincher over recent years with their outspoken opinions on local and green issues, housing and politics in general may well have tipped him over the edge, leading to his ill-judged behaviour in a London club...... and from that point onwards many other totally unexpected consequences started to evolve. The book is a series of e-mails sent by the grey-haired old Brummie to various peoples and their responses (or lack of responses). The most significant of the recipients were his local newspaper and his local M.P. Christopher Pincher; the M.P. whose indiscretions led to the resignation of the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

William's involvement in the intricacies of Abbey life in Tewkesbury proves central to revealing a deadly organised crime. However, the fairground fraternity's close-knit way of life makes things extremely difficult for the local police force who are desperate to solve their own murder of a local boy.The investigation is to take an unusual and disastrous turn when a few of the officers are revealed to be unsuspecting bit players in the crimes.'Dancing Man' explores the effect that the crimes have on the families involved, and those tasked with solving the crimes. This book, YOUR LONGING MY KINGDOM, summarises free feeling, where love has its own definition, corresponding to its nature. The love in the aspect of a critical look, with unique pleasure in the reason, to live makes well, the being in its criticism, in the proper evolution of the human being.A socially moribund man in the illiterate passion of living.Because the modern illiteracy has made many victims as the abundant crime, because to love does not resemble in the involuntary will of being socially with interpretative values alien in the purpose of each one.Together we are the Perfect. All of us are poet.José Mendes

For many of us, our way of living and working is highly skewed towards using the left side of the brain - a consequence of our academic education and the ways in which we communicate and work. This doesn't imply we activate only one of our hemispheres, but rather that the qualities of the left side of the brain dominate our overall functioning. For leaders, when it comes to harnessing the value of diversity or inspiring global stakeholders, the right brain is an exceptional ally (particularly in virtual contexts). In the broader area of building sustainable organizations, the right side of the brain also has a distinctive part to play. ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿Drawing on more than twenty-five years of executive coaching and professional experience, Yda Bouvier shares how to unleash the power of your personal genie - the strengths and wisdom of the right side of your brain.

'A Sister for Venus' is a climate fiction novel that seeks to explore, in an accessible way, one of the innumerable futures that could lie beyond our past and present failure to recognise that we are conducting a vast and unthinking experiment with our planet's biosphere. Initially, the story is set in the Midlands of twenty-first century England.Kirk is distracted by recent events in his private life but mysterious happenings near his house draw him to investigate. Suddenly, he knows far more than he ever wanted to know and in the social chaos that follows, he flees with his neighbour Rose, to what they believe will be the seclusion and relative security of the Somerset Levels. Unknown to them both, however, it will be from there that the future of what was once the United Kingdom will begin to unfold. Unwittingly, together with family and neighbours, they are drawn into a desperate battle to fight off an expeditionary force of armed invaders and to survive in the aftermath of a powerful storm.England continues to descend into both climate and social chaos such that Kirk's grandchildren find themselves living in a very different world from that envisaged by their grandparents. Not all knowledge of the past has been lost, though and it is the community's need for electricity that sends three young people on a dangerous mission into Cornwall and into contact with the perils of summer heat and the dark side of the County's sailing heritage. In the generation that follows, the diminished population supplements its farming with hunting but whilst the community continues to seek security in its seclusion, it is unaware that it has drawn the unwanted attention of people who have regressed to England's barbaric past. Finally, though, the fate of the community and its world is decided not by human events but by the tipping of Earth into a future that, at the outset, seemed beyond imagination...

More and more people are being diagnosed with alleged cancer everyday. The fear producing statements made by the media and aggressive marketing by the big pharmaceuticals companies will cause many people to live in terrible anxiety on a daily basis. This book may alleviate some of those fears and may even strengthen the reader's thoughts on how to take well informed action that will enable personal responsibility and recovery. To make matters worse, many people are now being over diagnosed and possibly over treated as we are now evidencing almost daily in the press and the national news. Cancer is devastating news at any time but then to find out that harrowing treatment, painful mutilation and possible malpractice has taken place unnecessarily will be frightening people even more.It is the ultimate health condition that almost every person dreads...the c word - cancer. There may be many people who would like to know what real self help measures could be used to support the body instead of jumping on the medical cancer conveyor belt of treatment which is almost invariably a method of 'one size fits all'I wrote this book because my scary diagnosis galvanised me into taking action to thoroughly research everything I could on current cancer treatments and recovery methods. The fear of being branded a 'cancer victim' without reason created initial anger. I turned this negative energy into constructively looking for answers to the many questions I had. Some of these questions still remained unanswered after nearly 12 years by the medical staff at the hospital I was diagnosed which is incredibly disappointing.Having an almost life long interest in health, self help, biology and quantum physics shows my current interest in research was not simply a reaction to my own personal circumstances but an extension of my naturally inquisitive thought processes surrounding health, well-being and self help.Cancer does not scare me, but current conventional certainly treatment does. But who would not be initially scared of cancer? Obviously most people but anyone who is armed with facts and unbiased evidence rather than subjective medical opinions would not be scared. Knowledge enables an objective approach to the diagnosis which may lead to a better outcome.Who wants to live on a knife edge after treatment? Many people live in daily anxiety if the treatment methods are showing no real proof of consistent long term recovery. The fear of treatment is very real and in my opinion has never inspired confidence or real hope for many people looking for recovery. It takes a lot of courage to look for other answers and possibly experience being the subject of ridicule by many people who do not understand there are many recovery protocols that do not fit into our current conventional treatment plans or medical beliefs.

This is a comic and fictitious tale, set in the 1970s, of a failing and depleted pub team playing in a low level league run by a football administration that takes itself far too seriously. With only four players left, Pork and Mutton FC decide to seek redemption by carrying on for another season in Division 2 of the Restaurants and Business Houses League (North), but need a new sponsor, players and a manager. Their recruitment search leads to tensions between themselves and the league administrators not dissimilar to a cold war, given the pub is in West Shields and the league HQ in East Shields.Sunday morning football provides the humble background for a range of characters and their exaggerated, often ridiculous, at times absurd, but always hilarious, storylines to enter and develop the narrative over an eventful thirty game season. It has always been a 'funny old game' especially at its non-elite margins, buried deep below an increasingly serious soccer pyramid, and the book tries to capture this vital essence. The main character is Simon Washington, a white collar council employee, who largely takes over running the team alongside the new sponsor Max Mortimer, an enterprising funeral director, and his Goth-like son Doug, as well as long suffering pub landlord Fred. While the few original players make up the backbone of the team, with one, Roger Chamberlain getting himself into a number of fraught situations, significant others enter as new playing recruits or part of the opposition. Chief amongst the first are Owen Bigalow, builder by day and Roy Orbison impersonator by night, who keeps goal while being also obsessed with the number 0 and the letter O, along with the disloyal Jonathan Cruft and his faithful dog Eusebio providing scandal and betrayal. The Tripolini brothers, triplets working in their mother's Italian deli, make a case for the defence while up front Aussie Ever Reddy is better able to hold on to his place in the team than onto his hairpiece. There are dodgy referees and even dodgier club sponsors, such as the shady Chinese businessman, and spot the ball and pools winner, Mr Wu. Greeks, Germans, and Poles make more than just a fleeting footballing entrance, alongside miners, lawyers, chefs (whether commie or commis) and catering students, populating some of the teams that they face. Even a dishevelled football scout and a lonely giant of a man carrying two buckets (named Faith and Hope) help in this search for collective redemption. It is intended as a humorous and wistful ballad of sorts where its leading colourful players are simply caught up in the magic, love and poetry of actively participating in a sport, not of kings, but of the everyman. At a time, and a level, where there were no such specific terms as false nines since all positions were equally fallacious residing largely in the imaginations rather than the abilities of its participants, when reality could still be trumped by dreams, and the game in its playing made fantasy footballers out of all of us.It is a journey where people learn about themselves as well as others with twists, turns and surprises along the way. There are revelations aplenty, especially in the climactic final chapter. The message of the book is positive and uplifting so that even within this humble world, and crummy league, humans not only stumble and err but also rise and continue to dream. While the team's adventures and playing are often a tour de farce rather than a tour de force 'the beautiful game' always somehow delivers, including providing a sense of belonging and identity.

Montreal, 1905. A boy stepped down from a transatlantic steamship. He was one of the many British Home Children that lined-up on a landing stage awaiting immigration. He was told that he had crossed over The Golden Bridge Of Hope to a better life than he would ever have in England. Until his father's tragic death in a pit explosion George Orson Gardener was an ordinary boy growing up in a mining community in north-eastern England. Then, from one day to the next, he became an orphan; sacrificed by his mother in order to save his two younger brothers from the same fate. His only crime was that he was born at a time when Britain was overflowing with unwanted children. Once in Canada he was sent by a social visionary organisation to work on a farm in Ontario. From that day on his life was stolen from him and it was lost forever. His burning aim was always to get back to England. After his odyssey began he became an invisible person and lived the rest of his life in what he called legal-illegality.
