This is a childrens story book about different animals, how to care and love your pets.
Mother Nature is the most photographed subject in the world. Storms have captured media attention for centuries. Many storm chasers have risked their lives to get an up-close photograph of a hurricane or tornado. The painting on this cover was chosen because it symbolizes the many storms of life that I have experienced. I have been painted literally standing on the Bible to give an illustration of how I spiritually stood on the Word of God and his promises in the midst of the storm.Even as the artist painted this cover on his canvas, he experienced storms in his life. He continued to paint through the storm. He explained to me his vision for this cover and told me that his life was an open canvas, and he went on to say, God is continuing to paint a picture my life.My prayer is that my speech and my preaching be not with enticing words of mans wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of the power. I pray that my pen would be that of a ready writer and would encourage others as I write In the Midst of the Storm. Charles Dickens
While in high school, I wrote this story, then I continued it in college. Although being diagnosed with bipolar, I accomplished getting a masters in reading. After graduating, I worked as a reading teacher in an elementary school. I taught reading strategies and decoding to first graders. I also accomplished being an adjunct professor in Suffolk Community College in Brentwood, New York. I taught students that scored low on their entrance examination. They were retested, and successfully, the majority showed improvement. I enjoyed working until I was diagnosed with cerebellar ataxia. This condition affects your speech, coordination, balance, and your ability to swallow. As a result, I could no longer work. With the help of my family, we found a facility called Family Center for Recovery, owned and operated by Dr. Robert Moran, a neuropsychologist. Dr. Robert Moran was dedicated and determined to help my mental and physical condition. I thank him for my healing, along with a higher power of spirituality and answered prayers from our Blessed Mother, Our Lady of Lourdes. After my physical and mental improving, I revised my original story for easier reading. Because of the nature of the vampire Ambrosh, I titled this book Two. Do you have two love interests? Well, Katy does. See who Katy chooses as her lifelong companion. Enjoy this book. Keep the faithand the vampires wont get you!

P>Frank LeBar recalls the richness of his boyhood, growing up in Shawnee, Pennsylvania (Shawnee-on-Delaware), at the turn of the century. Like many other families who were early settlers along the Delaware River, the LeBars combined farming with fishing, trapping, and lumbering in a traditional lifestyle sustained by hard work and the rich resources of the river itself. Frank''s memoir encompasses a wide range of activities: his earliest memory of a barn-raising, the typical chores of a farm boy, and his experiences in the one-room Shawnee School. Although he is from a large family, Frank''s particular companion is his older brother John, always ready for a practical joke or adventure. Together they delight in roaming the countryside, checking on traps, searching for Indian relics, or just "loafing." Together they also take a memorable raft ride down the Delaware to deliver lumber to the mills around Easton. In loving detail, Frank describes the village of Shawnee-on-Delaware and its inhabitants. His knowledge of people, land, and river is matched only by his abiding affection for his home. The LeBars owned the Shawnee General Store, and so young Frank is also involved with commercial enterprises perhaps less typical of a Pennsylvania farm boy. Family efforts on the farm were on a large scale partly to supply the store, which served as a hub for community social and economic activities. Frank was in a unique position to observe both his neighbors and the increasing numbers of city people, from New York and other areas of the eastern seaboard, as they first began to explore this Pocono Mountain and Delaware Water Gap region on vacation excursions. In 1903, a disastrous flood wipes out the family farm and the LeBar family fortunes change. Frank now strikes out on his own, and boyhood energy becomes a young man''s ambition. As he tries his hand at numerous pursuits: teaching, banking, lumbering, feed and grain, and real estate--Frank paints a broad view of enterprise in the region, and his story has now expanded to include Stroudsburg as well as Shawnee. Frank''s personal development reflects larger social changes. With the coming of the automobile, and the enterpreneurial activities of C.C. Worthington, the region is transformed into the center of tourism that it remains today.

IntroductionI would like to warmly thank the reader for their interest in this book. This book was designed to give the beginner and black belt level martial artist a quick easy reference manual of how to deal with a large variation of different types of attacks that one may encounter in sparring or in a street situation. Most students when first beginning in a martial arts program are more interested in the actual defensive techniques than in kata (forms/patterns). Kata and/or traditional drills are usually based more on discipline rather than actual combat realism or knowledge. In much of the Kata practice today the students and even master level black belts don''t even know what all the moves actually represent. Kata practice can be very important for development of good stances, footwork, concentration, focus, but still lacks the actual hands on practice necessary to develop good combat skills. Working with a partner is very important when developing your techniques. It allows you to test techniques in a controlled environment to see where you are weak and strong. It also allows you to see where your opponent is weak and strong. This book will give the martial artist a very strong base to improve one''s defensive strategies but also start to learn how to develop techniques of their own. I hope all that read this book will gain knowledge that they could not find in other places. Good luck and have fun in your training.Knowledge is Power,Adam Gibson
One day, while at recess, someone shoved him into a large puddle of mud. As Lucky scrambled clumsily to his feet, a large clump of mud fell from his head and onto one of his eyes, covering it. His clothes were completely ruined. Lucky could hear them laughing uncontrollably as he walked home slowly, with his head hung low and tears streaming down his muddy face.
The principal subject of this modest manuscript is sport. Few subjects are at once more widely acclaimed, touch the popular imagination more deeply, but are less earnestly studied than sport. What little reflective thought has been devoted to the subject has been of a largely scientific (as distinct from a humanistic) type. Most of this thought concerns the biological, psychological, or sociological character of the activity as against its historical or philosophical dimensions. Although rarely spoken of in exacting historical or philosophical terms, an authentic understanding, appreciation, and practice of sport nonetheless depend necessarily on accounts that show its origin and development (on historical accounts) as well as on accounts that reveal its essential nature and purpose (on philosophical accounts). Together, historical and philosophical interpretations of sport -- the so-termed humanistic perspectives of sport -- demonstrate the basic place of sport in human life, the basic place of sport in the full relief of human experience as such. These accounts disclose what sport has been and what it is ultimately for. They reveal the grounding charms of sport in distinctly human terms and they also illumine the wider character of humanity itself (insofar as humanity has expressed itself as persistently as it has in sporting terms). Humanistic interpretations of the sort here advocated demonstrate both that sport forms an integral aspect of human experience and that it is also a fundamental expression of that experience. In the creative flow of human activity, sport has had a conspicuous (if a formally neglected) place and it therefore figures importantly in any serious examination of genuine human experience.The purpose of this manuscript is to show, in broad overview, the origin, development, nature, and purpose of sport from its first appearance in the ancient primitive world to its elaborate place in contemporary modern civilization; to give a systematic and comprehensive account of sport as a function of the cultural events that have embodied it throughout its occasion in human affairs; and to do all of this under the interpretive gaze of an organic world view. The result is a synthetic summary of the accomplished historical and philosophical literature''s collective judgment concerning sport in the wide context of human culture from the perspective of the organic thesis. The result is an organic philosophy of (world) sport history in which the essential factors (the characteristic and decisive factors, the dominant tendencies) concerning the origin, development, nature, and purpose of human culture and its sporting attributes are dutifully recounted and reflectively interpreted. According to the organic sense of life and sport, it is only by way of such a result that sport can be plausibly connected to the end of distinctly human experience and that human life itself can be waged in full accord with its own most basic and endearing tendencies. The text works principally off of the encyclopedic and humanistic orientations of Hegel''s organic metaphysics and philosophy of history. It thus begins with an account of the development of the physical world and of life in its various forms. It then turns to an examination of the origins and development of human culture in the ancient, medieval, and modern periods with special attention to sport. The governing argument of the text concludes that it is in the organic inclinations of the ancient, medieval, and modern eras that sport comes to its highest realization; it is in these inclinations that sport: overcomes the stylish claims against it as a plastic thing (among other plastic things) that secures strictly instrumental aims; acts in full accord with its own basic nature and purpose, with its own fundamentally playful nature and purpose; gets linked to the mainstream of human life and contributes meaningfully to the living of an authentically human existence;

They planned on getting Penelope (their RV) cleaned up and a few repairs done while they were at home. They wanted her ready so when they get their next urge to head out on a new adventure. She would be ready to go. The next adventure, they planned to go on would be the central states. In the beginning they were having a great time visiting with their family and friends. But after a few months, the visiting slowed down, and it became the same old thing again. The weather was rainy and windy, there was flooding all around the area. The storms that came in from the gulf, made it impossible to go out sailing. They looked at their pictures from the year before, when they were in Arizona and Nevada. They enjoyed visiting the museums and hiking in the desert. It was mostly sunny during the day, but cold at night in most of the places they went. They were really starting to miss the warm weather. Houston weather just wasnt what it used to be, with all the rain and wind they have been having. It was time to chase the sun and explore the good old USA and Exploring American, all the little and big secrets it has.
The two college-age sons of Mr. Rancalli miss their traditional Christmas Eve dinner in order to make a very special delivery to a ninety-year old, poor widow.
Many years ago when black people were oppressed beyond reason in this country there was a man selling balloons at the county fair. They were all different colors and filled with helium. To get attention, from time to time the man would let a balloon go and disappear into the sky. He let a red one go and it went out of sight. He let a yellow one go and it also went out of sight. He released a white one and it soared into the heavens. As a little eight year old black boy watched and wondered, he finally gathered enough courage to ask the man a question. Mister, will a black balloon go up when you turn it loose? The man looked him dead in the eye, placed his hand on his shoulder and said, Son, the color of the balloon doesnt matter; it is what I put on the inside that matters. This is what makes it fly.This is what Jesus teaches you and me. Not only does our color not matter: nothing else does. No situation that you and I face matters. We cant even invent a hard luck story that matters. Our past or anything that has happened in our past doesnt matter. We can dream up some sob story, but it would not matter. Faith is what matters. Believing is our internal fuel that moves us to our desired destinations. Faith is the only indestructible vehicle that will shuttle us to an eternity where the good life goes on forever. (Conquering Problems With Power From Your Bible/Jim Hobby)Teflon, Corn Flakes, Vulcanized Rubber, Paper Towels, Plexiglas for Contact Lense and the telephone were discovered by accident. Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress and got a visitation from Heaven and Saul was looking for asses and got anointed for kingship. God is working twenty four sevens in our lives and if necessary, will use our dumb mistakes and idle wanderings to make a world changing miracle. (Jim Hobby/ Faith Things Happen). Slowly there was a peace and a power flooding his soul. Softly and tenderly a still small voice began to speak in his bosom. Samson, I know you cant see, just wrap your arms around those pillars and pull. In your darkness with everything within you; pull. Pull until you feel debris sprinkling your back. Pull until you hear concrete breaking. Pull until you hear screams of horror from this crowd of demons. Pull until you feel these columns cracking and this roof crumbling. When you feel you are weakening, pull. When fear comes, pull. When you can pull no more, pull anyway! It isnt over Samson. You thought it was over when they cut your hair. You thought I was gone forever when they punched out your eyes. You thought I was not in that darkness when you were grinding at the devils mill; but I was there and I am here now. Young firefighters were forced to become hardened veterans almostovernight when serving in New York City during the politically chargeddecades of the 1960''s and 1970''s. The day-to-day dangers we firefightersendured together produced the highest degree of bonding that one canimagine. As "family," we shared the love, and laughter, as well as thetears of each other''s personal tragedies. This book also tells how we,as firefighters, shared in the anguish felt by the innocent victims andtheir families. Fighting accidental fires was a tough enough job, butthe embattled firefighters of our city''s ghettos had to put up with thepolitically motivated burnings of buildings on the campuses of some ofNew York City''s most prestigious colleges and universities in the nameof civil disobedience. Add to that the rapid expansion of the drugculture, the sexual revolution, the Vietnam War protests, and raceriots, and you have a pretty good idea of what the New York City FireDepartment was up against. "All I can say is Wow! I love reading andI usually go in for the lighter reads, but a friend recommended thisbook. It held my attention from beginning to end. I will not spoil itfor others, you have to read this. It will make you cry and laugh! Itwill certainly give you a greater appreciation for firemen all over thecountry. The author of this book obviously loved his job as afirefighter, and his writing seems to come right from his heart. ThankGod for all you firefighters out there." - Thomas R. Allocca fromNaperville, Illinois USA (January 15th, 2004).
