Inuvik In Pictures, a companion volume to Inuvik: A History, is published to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the official naming of Inuvik in 1958. The book illustrates the planning, construction and growth of Canada''s first planned arctic community, beginning in the early 1950s with the search for a new town site on the Mackenzie Delta. The book draws on photo collections from across the country, depicting the creation of a new centre of regional government, a base for resource development, headquarters for aboriginal land claims organizations, schools, health centres, and flourishing cultural organizations. For 50 years, Inuvialuit, Gwich''in and southern residents have worked together to build this community, and Inuvik In Pictures is a colourful celebration of their many achievements.

Dr. Robert Ghost Wolf is not a singular formulated thought. God is the truth in all thought. This Book is a serious wake-up call for Mushrooms, Lemmings, and Ostriches. The deeper problem is that most of us humans would easily fit into any one or more of those three categories much of the time. Do you really want to know what''s going on, even though it does not seem to be affecting your source of income, food or general security, and does not interfere with your recreation or bad habits?Mushrooms don''t know. Lemmings choose to ignore and go with the flow. Ostriches don''t want to know, even though their rear ends are exposed. Where do you Fit In?This book is intended to be a wakeup call for supposedly well-informed and up to date folks who have depended on our totally controlled media to keep them up-to-date. A cons-piracy? Government telling you lies? Gosh, what a surprise! This will be the first book in a series. It begins to reveal what has really been going on at world control levels behind the scenes, and who is pushing the buttons, etc. Information brought forward by Dr. Bill Deagle, Phil Schneider, William Cooper, John Kaminski, Eric Phelps and others, make much of what is covered in this book seem insignificant. However, one has to start somewhere, with some earlier information, to more completely understand how things have developed, and continue to evolve at the most powerful levels of control. It has been said that an educated man makes a very poor slave. An informed public will ultimately create a new type of government, restoring personal freedoms and acknowledged individual sovereignty. The original U.S. Constitution that was burned by the British in 1812 intended to achieve those things. This series will help toward a more informed public.
The Greedy Hyena is an ancient West African folktale. Like all folktales, this is a story which speaks from the ages, to all ages, cultures and ethnicities. The lessons the Hyena brings to the reader and listener is universal in perspective and appeal.Because of those elements, the Hyena, immediately found a space in my repertoire and became a favorite of young and elder audiences.Once, I presented The Greedy Hyena in a storytelling residency. Some of the children, who participated, acted out the various parts of the story. From that experience came the idea of putting the story in book form. I spoke to many illustrators and viewed their renderings but it was Kianga''s folk art that matched the visions I saw in my head. For me, her images captured the energy and boldness of the African plains and expressed a text, that I tried to make fun, beyond the capacity of my feeble imagination. Her artistic genius makes this book truly a "work of Art!" Along with making the story funny, I tried to make the text fun for the listener and the reader, as well. So, have fun with all the sple[q[djkrq''ajre words and create a few of your own, if you wish. Hyena would like that. I thank you, in advance, for purchasing The Greedy Hyena. Be on the lookout, there could be other Hyena adventures coming your way.

WARNING: This book is for court mandated domestic violence education and self turn around for women (or men) who let their boyfriends abuse, torture, molest and murder their children. We have heard in the groups, often, that the women lived similar lives as children, they have NO other experience to raise their own children. Others are addicted to drugs, drinking and men so much that they will allow a man to abuse, torture, molest and murder their children rather than get their own lives straightened out. Many of these women live in taxpayer supported housing, supported by public assistance, these programs HAVE taken a mandatory treatment approach. WE as a country HAVE to resolve these issues, and help these women stand up for themselves and their children. THEY, over the past 12 years have helped to shape their workbooks and groups with those who work with them. From Psychiatrists, to the children of the mandated members of the classes, their input is considered and the books HAVE to reach them. If this material offends you, find another group.

This whole book is inspired by these verses found in the scriptures below.I went by the field ofthe lazy man, and bythe vineyard of the mandevoid of understanding. And there it was, allovergrown with thorns, itssurface was covered withnettles, it's stone wallwas broken down. WhenI saw it, I considered itwell, I looked on it andreceived instruction.(Proverbs 24:32-32 KJV)
Why is the Black man Feared? Why does the Black man threaten the White man like no other man on earth? Is it because the Blackman built the world's first civilizations? Is it because the Blackman is the only man to equal or surpass White men in every field of human achievement? Is it the Whiteman's sexual inferiority complex they feel regarding the Black Man?Understand why the Whiteman fears the Blackman and you will understand the root cause of White racism. This book looks at the historic conflict between Black men and White men in a geo-political Machiavellian style. The sharpness of Truth will shock, upset and educate but the Truth is spoken no matter whose feelings get hurt. The Truth is both Black and White histories are closely tied together and you cannot fully understand world history unless you tie them together. I asked questions and looked at evidence ignored by Western historians. This book is a response to the works of western intellectuals like Arthur Schlesinger and his book "Disuniting of America", Mary Lefkowitzi's "Not Out of Africa", and Stephen Howe's book "Afrocentrism". The author answers their comments with the historic facts and a sharp tongue of Truth that cannot be denied. This work will be controversial it will challenge some long held beliefs, some will love it, people will hate it, everybody will learn from it. Fear of the Black Man connects the Past, Present and Future to people's every day lives.

A people with the common identity of belonging to Southern Cameroon (Ambazonia) are at the brink of annihilation by the dictatorial regime of La Republique du Cameroun. This book of poetry primarily deals with the torture and death suffered by the Ambazonian people. With a prologue about the cliff at which the people now dangle and struggle and an epilogue about the people''s resolve to resist any subjugation, the book also offers, as usual, poems about life and death in general, but it focuses primarily on the intense torture and brutal murder suffered by Ambazonians in their struggle for independence from a neighboring country of equal status. Most of the poems dwell on the physical and psychological suffering of a people resisting subjugation.

The destroyers of World War II were the workhorses of the fleet, but their contributions have been largely forgotten in the passage of time. Even during the war, official reports listed the names of all battleships, cruisers, and aircraft carriers participating in an operation, but the destroyers that escorted the Task Group and drew the dangerous close in fire support tasks were seldom listed by name or hull number. They were grouped in classifications such as "fourteen Destroyers" or merely, "fourteen escorts."Drawing on official records and the memories of the men who fought in the Pacific War from its decks, Gary McIntosh has created a highly readable history of the USS Stevens, a Fletcher-class destroyer that participated in some of the better known invasions of the war and some that have been virtually forgotten. Spanning the years from the time the ship was launched in June 1942 until it was decommissioned in September 1946, few books have ever chronicled the life of a single ship the way this one does. Tin Can Sailors and landlubbers alike will enjoy this story of life aboard a destroyer during the greatest conflict the world has ever known.
Mary Victoria Wallis''s Among the Pilgrims is the story of her two pilgrimages - one by bicycle in 1997 and one on foot in 1998 - in northern Spain along the thousand year old route to the shrine of St. James the Apostle at Santiago de Compostela. In ten chapters covering everything from medieval miracle tales to the modern perils of shin splints and flat tires, she gives her view, as a medievalist, outdoor enthusiast, and inquiring pilgrim with Buddhist leanings, of the five hundred mile trail to Santiago. Among the Pilgrims takes the reader through a landscape of both the past and the present, the real and the imagined, through a topography not only of village and field, but of mind and spirit as well. In the cultural remains of medieval pilgrimage, Mary searches for the spiritual seeds of modern pilgrimage.Using a personal and impressionistic style, Among the Pilgrims brings into relief the treasury of literature, art, architecture, music, philosophy and science that was born and transmitted along the Camino de Santiago. Early in her first trip, for instance, Mary climbs the pass over the Pyrenees into the Spanish town of Roncesvalles. Here, in 779 AD, Count Roland was slain, blowing a dying note upon his magical oliphant to summon help from King Charlemagne - thereby giving birth to Le Chanson de Roland - and French literature. On the dry plains of northern Castile, she discovers the cradle of many Western musical traditions. Further west, she comes upon a 12th-century Templars castle that Napoleon thought about blowing up only two hundred years ago. Far from being isolated cultural artifacts, these stories, places and treasures are part of a heritage reaching into our own time. They are also mirrors in which we can find ourselves.
