Dorbyan was the name of the present-day Lithuanian town of Darbenai. Originally a noble agricultural estate, in the early 1700's it began to attract Jewish traders, who were eventually to become the major part of the town's population. The Jewish community thrived and continued to exist in Dorbyan until 1941 when it was exterminated by the Nazis. The growth and the fate of Dorbyan may be considered typical of may East European Jewish communities. Most Jews living in North America, although not of Dorbyan origin, are the end products of a similar background. This book attempts to trace the history of the town and many of its Jewish inhabitants. In addition it attempts to provide a picture of the everyday life lived by these people. The book is not intended to be a holocaust story, but unfortunately any study of East European Jewry inevitably ends up that way.Today Dorbyan descendants are found in Canada, the USA. South Africa, Israel and Australia, and who knows where else? For such were the migrating instincts of these people and their desire for a better life that migration to any country would have been considered. It is hopes that ths work may encourage descendants from Dorbyan as well as those from hundreds of similar Jewish communities to seek out their backgrounds. It is a fascinating pastime, and once begun, becomes a lifelong obsession.

Take note that unless you are very strong spiritually, to face desolation; this book is not for you, because it contains a large part of the ugliness of Satan and this is not very nice to see. I myself, am warned about it for more than twenty years and I had a hard time going through it and this back cover is not big enough to express all my disarray. The Messiah said this one very important thing written in;) Matthew 24, 15. 'Therefore, when you see the abomination that causes desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet- standing in the holy place-(in the Bible) let the reader understand.' (In French, 'Let the reader be careful when he reads.' I saw these abominations and I am desolated to see so many. This means the abomination, the devil has infiltrated the Holy Scriptures. This is very sad, but is also the truth. I had a hard time to believe it at first, but I had to face the evidence. The time is critical, very critical, because it shows that we are near the end. This was said by the Messiah.) See Matthew 24, 33. 'When you see all these things, (I speak about in this book) you know that it is near, right at the door.' (The return of the Messiah is at the door and this will mark the end of this corrupted world with all of its wickedness and will mark also a new era, the beginning of the God's kingdom and that if you believe it or not. James Prince, a warned Jesus' disciple!

The content of the book is a keen observation and thorough analysis and transparent proclamation on Church leadership with all its bright and dark sides as of today. In the light of Jesus'' Gospel-democracy, leadership here zooms out to all humans who have committed to Jesus as their Master who has granted them reciprocally in their Baptismal birth a big share in his leadership. Together with leadership-right Jesus too has put before them many demanding missives and indispensable duties to be fulfilled. This book is made of three sections: Genesis of discipled leadership; Master''s personal demands from discipled leaders; and His official demands from them in executing discipled-leadership. It is a book of the day when thousand and one heinous complains and reports, blasted out in social media against the political and social leadership and very sadly against religious and spiritual leaders. Some of those reports may be probably out of proportion; but almost 85% of them are experiential, legally-investigated and publicly confessed and testified by so many eyewitnesses. Author Fr. Vima assures, if the content of the book is meditated and prayed, chapter by chapter, there will be lot of spiritual and mental gain and support for the readers, especially those who struggle in their management of critical leadership in the Church environment.

BEST SELLERThis BEST SELLIING book provides a comprehensive guide to effective governance for board members and their senior executives. The author offers a new framework for understanding boards and proposes practices that boards can use to fulfill their stewardship responsibilities, strengthen board performance and improve organizational effectiveness. The book discusses the basics of governance - what it is and why it matters; essential duties and liabilities of the board and its members; and the essentials of an effective board/management partnership. It provides detailed guidance on the seven primary areas of board responsibility: i) mission and planning; ii) financial stewardship; iii) human resources stewardship; iv) performance monitoring and accountability; v) community representation and advocacy; vi) risk management; and, vii) managing ''critical events'' and ''transitional phases''. • - Rise of the Emerging Economies: 1980 to 2018
    av Rocky M Mirza Phd
    285,-

The problem is not President Trump, Brexit, Far Right politicians, racism or Islamophobia. It's the "Global Shift" from America and Europe to China, India and beyond. As an economist Dr. Mirza is fascinated by the Rise of China from a "dirt poor" country in 1980 to the World's second largest economy today. This revolutionary achievement has not yet sunk in with Western leaders, economists, the media or the public at large. Imagine living in Europe when Columbus sailed West to find China. European leaders either ignored him or heaped scorn on his bravado. Dr. Mirza believes that Western leaders today are as ignorant of today's "Global Shift" from West to East as the Eastern leaders of the Ottoman Empire, China and India were, during the 16th-18th centuries of the "Global Shift" then from East to West. This book intends to shed light on that ignorance. It traces the beginning of this "Global Shift" from the Mexican Maquiladoras to China's SEZs to India's Call Centres to Indonesia, ASEAN, Brazil and Africa. Dr. Mirza also explains how this "Global Shift" is responsible for the Rise of populism in the West, of President Trump, Brexit and Far Right politicians.

In 1969, Dr. D.M. McArtor, Deputy Director of Technology for the US Dept. of Defense went before the Senate Committee for Approbations & requested $10 million to design a virus that is ''refractory to the immunological systems .In 1970, Dr. McArtor was granted the $10 million by the US Government to invent the AIDS virus. In 2000, feeling drawn to Brazil, the author arrived in the town of Iporanga, Sao Paulo where it is common knowledge among the residents that the US Army has been conducting some kind of secret experiments in a nearby cave hidden in the jungle in 1970.Impossible events occur on a regular basis, & previous to arriving in Iporanga he was shown through a series of coincidences that with the letter 'A' in front of his name, his surname is Apostlethwaite, or Apostobranco. On his second night, Kevin used a strange sentence for the first time & told a young doctor whose days are filled with AIDS victims; "I'm a white blood cell, I go where needed." In answer to her question regarding why he was there.Shortly after seeing a school music book full of Nazi mind control experiments with sound & melody, Apostobranco is shown a cave nearby called Caverna Laboratorio. The local residents were obviously victims of some kind of mind control. There are people in the valley that can't remember when their parents died, & another who can't remember that her husband died of AIDS. All of these things were more than enough to convince the author that he was no longer just a tourist but had assumed the role of a character in a legend.Iporanga! is an expose of numerous crimes against humanity. It's the true account of the discovery of the origin of AIDS & the bizarre series of events that surround it - an account of impossible coincidences & miracles, the misery of AIDS, & the terror of being chased by an army through the jungle in Brazil.

This is a collection of short gospel poems composed to bring healing and deliverance to the masses. The collection offers hope to those that are hopeless and help to those who need it. The tone of the collection is one of faith in knowing that God is and will do just wnat he says He will do. All who read the collection will find something of value in it for themselves or someone else they know. While reading the collection, one is transported to the realms of The Spirit where one can exist where all power belongs to God, the Ruler Supreme and no one has to cry or die. For example, the poem titled The Lord Jesus Is My Man clearly depicts ever lasting life via the written words, "I shall die and know Him still when He carries me away from here".Equally as evident in the realm of love, the poem titled, How My King Appeared to Me shows a love for Jesus The Christ that is unmatched in brilliance and un-paralleled in purity. The reader knows and understands the meaning of the expression "I would go to different places through-out the city and you would show up! I'd be walking and you'd appear beside me. In front of me. I was afraid at first because you appeared so suddenly, but you caused me to know that it was you and I would fear no more.I Am In Love With The Lord Jesus Christ demonstrates the un-dying love for Jesus The Christ King that leaves the reader knowing that there is more to come and more to what they have been thinking and feeling in terms of what "true" love is and how it goes. The reader learns the differences between love and lust as the imperfections of "falsehoods and indiscretions on love and how it goes" are revealed and displayed "up-close" for all to see.In reading the collection, one is able to enjoy God in His totality, hear about Him and His goodness and ten experience firsthand the power of God in the highest as they allow Him to come into their lives and empower them to "be saved". The Prayer of Salvation is steadfast in the realm of the parent and the child finding, loving, caring for each others' thoughts, views, wishes, and feelings.Lastly, the reader is made starkly aware of the power of God as He dis-allows the successes of the enemies of The United States of America and supports the United States of America and the entire world as they respond to search out and destroy terrorism and its' support world-wide. These truths are evident in the poem You Are The Best Lord Jesus where the United States of America requests and receives God's help in its global war on terrorism.

    - Sorted: Global from Local and Some Evidence for Each
    av R Pilotte
    288,-

There are hundreds of ancient flood legends around the world that tells of vast inundations in ancient times caused by catastrophic events. It's often assumed that these legends refer to the flood of Noah and his ark. Although many do mirror this biblical story, some people say these legends simply refer to local floods that only affected the world of the locals, not the whole globe. There are three types of flood legends: global, local, and a confusion of global mixed with local floods. We sorted these legends into categories, presented the evidences, and exhibited the causes of each type. From this discussion emerges a frightful picture of the ancient world where civilizations were affected time and time again by vastly destructive cataclysmic events. The world changed-mountains rose, continents shifted, cities and islands sunk, species were obliterated, and whole populations were wiped off the face of the earth. Legends regularly validate others as true histories. If the floods they spoke of were not global, their effect was. This roller coaster ride of evidence will challenge the worldview of ancient and geologic history that have been taught to us.Legends of the floods often mentioned God or the gods, which were considered to be either responsible for the floods or saved people from them. The age when the gods ruled is associated with advanced technology and flood legends. Atlantis is considered central in flood legends, and many researchers have incorrectly linked its destruction with all flood legends. The gods, too, are related to Atlantis and are frequently tied with floods, which necessitated a section devoted to the age of the gods wherein we discover their origins and who they are.

A Message from the Author Back in 1965, when I was teaching reading to first-graders, I began writing books to help them become independent readers. These books used only a few words to tell enjoyable little stories. They gave the children practice in figuring out words on their own. I didn''t realize that they would also become classics, beloved by children who cherished them, carried them around constantly, hugged them in bed, and re-read them until their families could recite them by heart and the books themselves collapsed in tatters. These children have grown up and want to share their favorite little storybooks with their own children. The first to be republished was Ann Likes Red, brought out by Purple House Press in the Fall of 2001. Now the others are being reprinted, starting with Ballerina Bess, a simple story written with only 25 words and beloved by many little girls who learned to read with it. I hope you will like it, too.The other titles in the series, to be reprinted later, are The Tent, The Rabbit, Big Beds and Little Beds, The Pond, Stop Pretending, Bill and the Fish, Brad and Neil, and my personal favorite, The Sandwich.

  • - A Pedagogical Guide
    av Dr Felicia Low
    376,-

Are you an artist who works with a variety of communities? Are you interested to deepen and expand on the meaning of your work? This book presents a pedagogical framework which aims to guide the practices of artists who work with communities. It presents the social, personal, cognitive and cultural dimensions of a person-centered approach in a dynamic, interwoven manner, which will enrich your practice through a thorough process of reflection, evaluation and co-creation. "In my journey as a dance therapist, I have pondered the issue of professional boundaries - where does the dance artist end and the dance therapist begin? My inclination has veered towards a democratic perspective, recognizing the great work community artists - ''non-therapist'' - can achieve. At the same time, I have been aware that artists working with groups such as I (people with dementia), required something beyond arts skills in order to facilitate inclusive, participatory and life-enhancing activities. Dr. Low addresses this issue exactly. She provides a coherent and impressive theoretical framework to underpin the work of the person-centred arts facilitator and offers practical guidelines for setting up and running arts programs which are sensitive to context. The aim of this book is a worthy one in its encouragement to develop arts activities which become, in Dr. Low''s words,''an active means of growth'' for the participants. From my experience, I also know how enriching a person-centred approach is for the arts facilitator, which is why the following remark by Dr. Low on the value of working in a person-centred way resonates with me, for this is ''a practice that will never stagnate, never come to a closed conclusion, because communities too never stagnate and come to closed conclusions''." Dr. Heather Hill, dance movement therapist for over 30 years, now consultant in dance and person-centered practice in dementia.

    - This Is the Day the Lord Has Entrusted to Me; Let Me Live My Faith as Best as I Can
    av REV Benjamin A Vima
    288,-

This book contains candid reflections and practical applications of the effective Words of God communicated in and through Jesus and his Church. It would be a spiritually-nutritious ''Foodbank'' for strengthening and enlivening of the people of God. It is a large ''Gift-package'' of Scriptural reflections for Jesus'' disciples who strive to be genuinely living their faith in daily chores. It would also be ''a sparkling lamp'' for their feet, and a brightening light for their path of holiness. The specialty of the term ''daily'' is: Every day is the only day left in hand with us, and it is the only chance entrusted to us. As our ''yesterday'' gone and our ''tomorrow'' in God''s hands, everything happening within this day''s 24-hours will never, ever be replicated in tomorrow. It is on such conviction this book is structured. In ''this day''-reflective light, the author underlines his main reason for writing this book: As I am personally striving to be an extraordinary disciple of Jesus at least ''one day at a time'', according to my Master''s demands which are spread through the Scriptures, I see many of my fellow-disciples of Jesus too, in this laser and rocket-speedy postmodern Age, fully benefit by ''living faith this day'' in Jesus'' Way, Spirit and Truth. This book would certainly assist the readers to listen keenly the voice of God in Jesus at everyday ''Breaking of the Word and Bread''.
