    - Complete and How to Understand It
    av Teresa A Taylor

The author and opinions of this book was revealed over 139 years ago and I quote. To all who make the Bible a study, it is almost invaluable. A work more thorough, more useful, more simple and comprehensive in it scope and character, upon the Bible has not emanated from the pen of any other theologian so imminent and able as Dr. Hitchcock during the century. It needs but a glance to convince of it worth. Has opened the vast storehouse of religious truth and brought the whole teachings of the Spirit on each subject at one view. It is one of the most valuable aids to Bible study that I have ever examined. I comment it to the attention of every person, whether the head of a family or not. This is the most complete work on the Bible I have ever seen. It will enable any person possessing it to learn more of the Bible in an evening than he can acquire in days of hard studying without it. Enable the reader to turn to any subject of the Bible and there find all that is said directly upon it, right before the eye. It enables one to find at any moment all the light God''s Word gives upon any doctrine, or any duty, or any relation in life. Such a valuable addition to the library that no person can afford to be without it. It is a guide to the study of the Bible, not a substitute for it; and is a work of rare value to all who wish to gain a thorough knowledge of the teachings of God''s Word. No more can be said about this Analysis of The Holy Bible than what had already been spoken. It speaks for itself.

Established in 1896 with the coming of the Ottawa, Arnprior and Parry Sound Railway, Rock Lake Station was for over forty years a bustling centre for Algonquin park tourism and commerce. Unfortunately the demise of the railway in the late 1940''s sealed its fate and today there are no signs of its existence, unless one knows where and how to look,. This book is the third in a series of narratives designed to bring to life the human history of Algonquin Park with specific focus on over 100 years of an active and vibrant Rock Lake and Whitefish Lake community.

    av John Shannon

Lighten Up! is a collection of 50 jokes and quotations by Johnny Shannon, who lives in an assisted living facility in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. Despite his many health challenges since birth, John maintains a positive outlook in life, and his unique sense of humor is a prime way he does this. He likes to crack jokes, say funny sayings and make other interesting comments and observations that keep those around him laughing - and sometimes scratching their heads. The book is dedicated to his late mother, Mary Ann Inez Shannon, who died on Johnny''s 51st birthday in 2014, on April 2nd. He credits her for keeping him alive through his bout with severe pneumonia at six months of age, when he developed a 108-degree fever and was in a coma for 21 days. During this time, the intubation procedure collapsed his left lung, which causes him trouble to this day.Proceeds from sales of this book will help supplement John''s minimal government-assistance income.

The purpose of this book is to help men find direction in life. To serve as a guide to the young men who do not have a father figure in their life. When we are not careful, we may take the wrong turn in life. The wrong turn could be the difference between life, death, failure, or success. We follow a day by day journey praying to strengthen our relationship with GOD. Men are created in the image of GOD. Sometimes as men we seem to forget what is important. What is important is our health, family and fatherhood. GOD wants us to believe in him and serve while helping others believe in him. So many people are in doubt and have given up on their dreams. The life they have lived and the things that happen around them cause them to lose faith. We must have faith even when it seems that what we are seeking is impossible. So many people miss out on their dreams because they don''t have faith. We are images of GOD and through him everything is possible. Never believe there is something in life you can''t accomplish. Our values and accomplishments in life set the direction for young boys growing up. Boys model themselves after their fathers. What they see their fathers do is what helps develop their manhood. For example, if the father is loving, supportive, and kind around the boy then the behavior will be recognized, and the boy usually models the same behavior. We pray for GOD to give us the strength to make the right decisions. We pray so that as men although we are not perfect can set a good example for young men. Finally, we pray for changes to occur in our lives so we can develop a relationship with GOD. Men are supposed to provide and protect the family. Today''s men are not playing their roles as fathers and husbands. So many men feel they are not doing what is expected of them because of the society. Times have changed, and life is a lot more difficult to live. Remember. If you don''t run into difficult obstacles, then you won''t learn anything. The brain must be unlocked and the more you learn the more knowledge you possess. Remember never put a limitation on how far you can go in life because through hard work you can accomplish great things. For example, the soul is as important to a body as DNA is to a cell. Without the soul, the body will not function; just as a cell cannot function without DNA. Remember that through God we can do all things, and he is always on our side. Never doubt yourself in any circumstance because you are a child of God.

    - Sharing Scenes from 100 Years of Leaseholding
    av Gaye Clemson
    253,-

Among the many who treasure Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada are a small group of leasehold residents who have occupied small corners of the Park since the earliest days of the 20th century. It is a book about their heritage, the depth and breadth of their roots in the community, their traditions and experiences living and settling in the forest 35 miles from the closest town , their passion for Algonquin and its tradition of multiple-use, their community and its activities and their contributions both large and small to the environment and to quality Park experiences for all who visit. Treasuring Algonquin is all about that leasehold community of 300+ leaseholds spread across 19 lakes paralleling for the most part the old railway right-of-way whose forebears were invited by the Ontario Government to establish cottages in the Park. Until 1954 cottagers were welcomed with open arms, support and encouragement. For some families itÕs the fifth generation who are now learning to appreciate Algonquin and its beauty. Most of the time, youÕd hardly know they were there Ð until you run into trouble while paddling on one of the lakes, lose your way, need medical attention or get caught in a storm or a heavy northwind. Then they miraculously appear to provide help and guidance and occasionally save your life. Mostly in residence on weekends from ice-out to ice-in, and for a few weeks in the summer, members of this small but vibrant community of 9000+ extended family members Ôhave become as much a part of Algonquin as the loons and the ladyslippersÕ.Through much Òdetective-workÓ, Clemson has blended current and historical narratives with extensive research, through files seldom searched, to provide a glimpse into the lives of the leaseholders who have treasured their experiences in Algonquin Park throughout the past century.

Third-Culture Kids Unite! Children love to read books about kids like themselves. The Adventure Begins is the first picture book written especially for elementary-aged Third-Culture Kids. This book chronicles the ups and downs of living life overseas as a young global nomad. From transition issues such as moving to a new country, making friends, attending an international school, coping with change, and saying goodbye, The Adventure Begins allows littler TCKs to finally have their own voice in the experience of living "among worlds."In recent years, many parents and caregivers of TCKs have accessed books about the repatriation process. Little emphasis however has been placed on the experience of actually living as a young Third-Culture Kid. With an introductory letter to the reader describing the ways TCKs are connected, and a closing letter considering how this unique group could change the world, The Adventure Begins allows for new dialogue about what it means to be a TCK. Welcoming students, parents, and educators into the lives of young Third Culture Kids, The Adventure Begins is the first book in the Detinu International School series aimed at connecting TCKs around the world.

    av Ben W. Thompson

Rich on Southern tradition, language culture, and mind-set, this is much along the lines of John Berendt''s Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, with characters event he most fertile of imaginations would have difficulty creating. Homosexuality, eccentricity, political corruption, and murder. Fortunately, when Mr. Thompson moved to Colorado he brought his Southern gift for story telling, as his writing is instantly enthralling and nearly impossible to put down.

    - A History of the Peoria State Hospital
    av Gary L. Lisman
    272,-

The book will be a history of the facility, hopefully, it will be more than just a history of dates and events. It is the purpose of this book to personalize the Peoria State Hospital through the use of personal memories of the patients and staff.A few miles from the city of Peoria, Illinois at the bottom of a beautiful bluff overlooking the Illinois river, are the remains of an old set of stairs. For more than a half-century after the turn of the twentieth century these stairs led from a train station located at the bottom of the steep hill up to the grounds of the Peoria State Hospital. This stairway, partially covered by weeds and debris, itself, is today a forgotten reminder of the once stately facility which was located there. It is impossible to know just how many patients, nurses, doctors, workers and visitors used these stairs over the years to gain access to the hospital grounds. These stairs, depending upon what one reads or to whom one talks, were a stairway to heaven, to hell, or to somewhere in between. Only one thing is sure, everyone who climbed these stairs was profoundly affected by what they found there...This book seeks to understand what really happened at the hospital during its fascinating history and to do so as accurately as possible. In the end, the individual reader will be allowed to draw his or her own conclusions regarding the Peoria State Hospital and the thousands of men and women who, at one time or another, called it, no matter how briefly, ''''home.''''

Uganda has had a troubled history, and there seems to be no light at the end of the dark tunnel. Right from the time of its inception as a country in 1891, those who have led the country have used violence, deception, and foreign forces to maintain power. Lugard, a representative of the Imperial British East African Company (IBEAC), used force to get Mwanga to sign a treaty of protection. The British government used violence and deportations to suppress the struggle for independence. Obote manouvered and manipulated the system to shift power from the kingdoms and districts to the central government. Amin lived by the rule ''kill before you get killed''. And now Museveni, with his National Resistance Movement (NRM) machine, uses economics to disenfranchise entire tribes, lies, and has institutionalized tribalism and corruption to stay afloat. The book questions the validity of the 1967 and 1995 constitutions. The introduction of the 1967 constitution was underhanded, but it was ratified by a duly elected multi-party legislative assembly. The NRM which parented the 1995 constitution has a legitimacy problem. It was ushered into power by Rwandese refugees, and once in power, installed Resistance Committees (RCs) for the sole purpose of aiding the NRM to manipulate elections. For this reason, the ligitimacy of the constituency assembly elections is questionable. This book exposes the root of the political disaffection in Buganda and the turmoil in the northern and eastern parts of the country. Specifically, it examines the issues concerning the Buganda Agreement of 1900, and the 1962 constitution. It is the author''s belief that the solution to the political problems of the country lie in revisiting the 1962 constitution and amending it to the satisfaction of all kingdoms, districts and territories. There is a lack of political maturity at the central government level to allow fair distribution of the national cake equitably to all parts of the country, and only federal jurisdiction can address this. Like an active volcano, the frustration resulting from the lack of a political process that allows peaceful change of government is building up pressure to a point where tragic mass violence is likely to occur. The tremors of Uganda''s political volcano are about to turn into a massive eruption.

Paleontologists and geologists are interested in the ages of fossils, rocks, and minerals, from which they deduce the ages of geologic strata in theGeologic Column. Scientists make use of radioactive dating methods, such asthe radioactive decays of carbon 14, uranium 238, and thorium 232 in fossilsand minerals. Accurate age determinations depend on knowing the rate of theradioactive emissions and the relative amounts of initial and productelements in the decay series. However, if an interfering nuclear change tookplace earlier, the perceived age of the earth deposit would have to bewrong. In 1989, the discovery of cold fusion-the fusion of hydrogen to make heliumand energy inside metal electrodes at room temperature-was announced by Drs.Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons at the University of Utah. Soon after, cold fusion research also revealed that nuclear transmutations, forming manynew elements, occur liberally. Even purposely-added radioactive uranium andthorium in cold fusion-type cells resulted in transmutations, and thedisappearance of up to 95 percent of the radioactivity in hours or minutes. In addition, special water pumps, invented in America and Europe, werediscovered to generate "excess heat" and possible nuclear effects byintensely agitating water and creating "cavitation bubbles."In Carbon Dating, Cold Fusion, and a Curve Ball, the author postulatesinterfering nuclear (element) changes occurring in the Earth, and proposesthat extensive element transmutations occurred from intense hydrodynamicsduring the Flood of Noah (Genesis 6-8). If so, it is conceivable muchalteration of radioactive elements took place, rendering unreliable theradioactive dating results in most analyses done today. A relatively simpletest of this theory is outlined. The test would use a piece of bismuthmetal, a tank of water, and a boat''s outboard motor. The book is written for the non-scientist, but those trained in the physicalsciences or engineering are invited to examine the new hypothesis of Earth''selement transmutations and the consequential alteration of dating earthmaterial by radioactive elements.
