Straddling the Barbed Wire, and then one day during a really heavy racial tension project decided it was more like straddling electrified razor wire to be multi racial.........multi-cultural, multi-modality educated, seeing men AND women, NOT fights, seeing FAMILIES, not generational disputes. Seeing starvation, war, genocide, rather than what we, as humans could do on this earth each day, to help others, to maintain and restore nature, to create a better world for the next seven generations and pass that duty on.
Some young teenage boys in 1942 took timeout from their duties to go fishing. They had taken on the tasks that had belonged to the men that had gone off to fight in the war. Without the mentoring and leadership of their older brothers and fathers their adventure turned into a misadventure.
The writer has a desire to see that the clemency and fairness of God is protected through reasonable explanation instead of imposing uncompromising positions based on certain events seen in the Bible. With this book, the writer hopes to assist the next generation in escaping the dilemma of philosophical dissension between one believing implicitly in the Bible while another trusts only in science. Hopefully, this theory will silence the intransigent arguments between people who fiercely cling to opposite doctrines heard in emotionally-charged rhetoric.
This is a collection of Ideas, Experience and Thoughts, which are part of everyone's experiences, captured by the eye and ear of all and put on paper by Peter. Some of the verses are life's experiences and others are dreams of what those experiences should be, if and when the ideal situation should occur. One has to be sensitive, to the changes in expression, to see the variations in feelings expressed by a person, in many different situations. In life we have to be willing to express those feelings, for relationships to be nourished, and many times we are hesitant to make ourselves vulnerable by expressing ourselves, and in showing those feelings, which are so important in life. This group of poems show my interpretations, of what some of those feelings or expression of feelings are like. There are many people who I have consulted, and who have inspired me, to express these words and feelings and to put them on paper in a form with which I am comfortable in using; Poetry, to be shared with others. To all of these friends I wish to show my great appreciation.I am one of those who had come from Europe in the 50's, and had to adapt to the change in school system. I spent many months, which seemed like boring times; as the material covered was a repeat just in another language, at day-dreaming letting my mind wander and a chance to write at already an early age. But a boy writing poetry was not condoned, as one was called a "sissy", so all of the early work was crumpleld and thrown into the "Waste Basket".It was one of those crumpled pieces of paper, which caught the eye of my teacher, who picked it out and asked me to stay after school. Alas! I had been found to be day-dreaming and reprimanded for such deeds. But this was not so; as the teacher just complimented me and said I should NOT throw such things away, but to do them at home, and concentrate at school. From that time on I had not kept any papers until 1969 when I was invited to Deanna's graduation ceremony from the School of Nurshing. I wanted to write a special message for this Special Young Lady, and the result was "A Message To A Graduate".It was another 14 years before I kept any other writings. In the late 80's I again decided to put the thoughts and dreams and impressions on paper. Then in the mid 90's I put together a set of poems for my nephew's Engagement and Wedding. Since then I have kept on writing, not only for the sake of writing, but using poems as a way of expressing myself, on sensitive topics. It was easier to give a sheet of paper with a poem than to say to a person, what might have made me blush or to open up to a special friend, and be afraid of not coming across properly.Writing poems for me was a way of verbally painting scenes and emotions to paper, and later on, I learned how to recite these poems with almost the same conveyance of feeling and emotion. This may not be so convincing when the subject matter is more emotional, and one has to fear moments of anxiety or sheer panic of Blushing myself Crimson, as some of the poems are a trite deep on the amorous intonations. These poems are my expression of feelings of and about the events in a normal life cycle, with a strong resemblance to my own life's experience, and those of many others, It is with pleasure I wish to share these words, which many people feel, but are also a little too shy to express.I sincerely wish that the readers reflect on their own past, see the present and envision their future situations in this collection of writings. To the many people who have inspired me, shaped my feelings and had the patience to support me in my attempts to express myself, I give Heartfelt Thanks."Individually you know who you are!"- Peter Köhl
Trust. Truth. Evil. An Interview with a U.S. Marine, is a story of one man's quest for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; as well as his belief that by standing up for what is right and believing in others at all costs, will in fact, overcome any obstacle.
Current research indicates the average child today watches approximately 1800 hours of television each year. This is more time than participating and learning in a classroom. Valuable learning can be experienced from this medium, however it is up to adults to take the necessary steps to ensure young minds are not endangered but enriched. We all know this on some level yet the question is what can we do about it? TV Time Journal For Kidz is a profound and revolutionary tool to engage and inspire young minds while watching television. With this illustrated journal, kids will be challenged to describe the show, articulate the message they received from the story, imagine they are a character in the show, tell about a commercial that aired during the program including the marketing technique used and finally they are asked as critics to rate the show from 1 to 4 stars and share why. This is fun for kids and creates a wonderful way for parents to interact and share family values.

I plotted our sun's course through space to discover that our sun was born in the constellation Orion. After the planets were formed Earth was covered with a five-mile-thick coating of ice one billion years. We eventually drifted near the Sirius multiple star system and little Sirius B (1.5 solar masses) grabbed hold of our sun putting it in orbit around Sirius A. During the rein of the dinosaurs the atmospheric pressure was around 30 pounds per square inch. Now it is 14.5 pounds per square inch. Before our sun was captured by the Sirius system earth had an atmosphere of 750 pounds per square inch. Such an atmosphere extended 2,500 miles above the planet. There was no way sunlight could thaw out mile-deep ice over the oceans. It took the power of a white dwarf to get life started. Our sun does not have enough power to keep us out of the ice ages otherwise we wouldn't have them!Cosmological Ice Ages Solved: the greatest mysteries of all time! Where was our sun born? What took Earth out of a billion year ice age? What made all the coal, oil and limestone? How did Earth get a 20.8% oxygen atmosphere? Where did the energy come from to make all the coal, oil and limestone? Who, what, when and why was the moon brought into orbit around Earth?By Henry Kroll 384 pages 8.5 by 11; quality trade paperback (soft cover); Catalog #08-0164; ISBN 1-4251-7062-5; US$31.35, C$31.35, EUR21.42, £16.19About the BookI plotted our sun's course through space to discover that our sun was born in the constellation Orion. After the planets were formed Earth was covered with a five-mile-thick coating of ice one billion years with an atmospheric pressure of over 750-pounds per square inch. Sunlight could not penetrate such an atmosphere extending 2,500-miles above the planet. We eventually drifted near the Sirius multiple star-system. Little Sirius B (1.5 solar masses) grabbed hold of our sun putting it in orbit around Sirius A.Earth has lost 98% of its atmosphere (AKA radiation shield). Our sun does not have enough power to keep us out of the ice ages. The additional light and heat from Sirius star system that melted the ice caps and got life started in the oceans. Over time the 750 PSI carbon dioxide atmosphere was laid down as coal, oil and limestone using photosynthesis and light from Sirius A and B. Dinosaurs couldn't live in today's atmosphere because their lungs were too small. 65-million years ago the atmosphere was 30 to 60 PSI. Earth has lost 98% of its atmosphere. It is now 14.5 pounds per square inch. Canada currently has the fairest and most comprehensive charter of rights and freedoms in the world. It is the most important set of laws in Canada, as it overrides all other Canadian laws, including all municipal and provincial statutes. And, the charter was intentionally designed to be difficult to change. With this charter, truthful, proven and demonstrable harm just occur before punishment may be legally imposed (demonstrable justification). This is similar to the charter's guaranteed right of liberty (doing non-harmful actions). A law that has the potential of convicting a person who has not really done anything wrong offends the principles of fundamental justice; and such a law violates a person's right to liberty, under section 7 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Each person is the proper guardian of their own health, whether bodily, or mental and spiritual. The right most valued by civilized man is the right to be let alone. Specific charter rights also apply to arrest, detention, and bail requirements.
Such was life at The Ranch. It was situated on Groom Lake, nearly 100 miles northwest of "Lost Wages," Nevada. In the early sixties I arrived there as Hamilton Standard's engineering representative, covering our products on the top-secret plane, the A-12.The plane was designed, built and concealed by Kelly Johnson and his team of top aerospace engineers at a facility inside Lockheed. Kelly named the building, the "Skunk Works."To test fly the airplane, they needed a large secure site. That was where I ran into John Gardner. I later discovered that John was Kelly's thermodynamics and heat transfer expert. Very few Hamilton Standard personnel were cleared for the program, and those were sworn to absolute secrecy...
A resounding response to the environmental devastation and hardships-of-youth going on all over the world. Communal home designs are the last lines in the sand left to draw!

Scenario Selling: Technology and the Future of Professional Selling is a book about professional selling - what salespeople do with and for customers - and how it's changing due to advances in technology. Since 1997 sales-technology expert Patrick Sullivan and psychologist Dr. David Lazenby have studied how technology has historically altered successful sales tools and methods. This book is the result of that research. Readers will gain an understanding of the changes required for salespeople and the selling profession to survive and thrive in the Digital Age.The development and widespread use of Digital-Age technologies has resulted in and continues to introduce significant changes in the way people live, work, learn, buy, and sell. Will technology eliminate the need for salespeople?Within these pages you'll discover why today's Digital-Age technologies may well replace many salespeople; and be introduced to perhaps the only sales method and toolset that will make salespeople irreplaceable: ScenarioSellingSM.ScenarioSelling isn't a new sales technique...it's a new sales process. It represents the first major change in sales process since consultative selling was introduced over 40 years ago. ScenarioSelling provides the logic and framework for a whole new way of selling - a model that will surpass the current paradigm of consultative selling in productivity, personal touch, and professionalism.ScenarioSelling explains the knowledge, skills, and tools required for just-in-time (fast) professional selling. It results in a significant reduction in the time required for complex decisions and sales, which can be reduced to hours rather than weeks or months while dramatically improving the customer's sales or service experience. Are you willing to be influenced to improve the way that you sell? If not, don't read this book. Those who understand this system will create more value for their customers, provide a better customer experience, build stronger customer relationships, gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace, and thrive. Those who don't may lose out to competitors who will.
Surgical Oncology, in the context of General Surgery, can account for some of the more difficult questions on the ABSITE and the American Board of Surgery Qualifying exam. This topic is often difficult to study for because of the lack of a singular resource to draw from. The material is delivered in confusing algorithms, in the middle or end of dense textbook chapters, or else merely glossed over in review books. This is unfortunate because as general surgery residents we need to have surgical oncologic knowledge at our fingertips. This is an organized and concise review of Surgical Oncology, as it pertains to General Surgery. This review provides applicable screening guidelines/pertinent diagnostic tests/need-to-know staging, a comprehensive list of tumor markers and genetic mutations, and indications for surgery/neoadjuvant & adjuvant therapy/palliative therapy. Revised and up to date content that will allow you to spend more time studying and save you from searching for the latest guidelines.

Boys of the Clouds tells the fascinating stories, in their own words, of over seventy veterans of the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion during the Second World War. The Battalion, part of the British 6th Airborne Division, was among the very first Allied soldiers to land on French soil on June 6, 1944. Despite a widely scattered drop, they managed to take and hold all their objectives on D-Day, and continued to hold off German counter attacks through that fateful summer. After suffering heavy losses in Normandy, the unit returned to England in September 1944 to refit and train for the next airborne operation. This training was interrupted when they were hastily sent to defend against the German offensive in the Ardennes, commonly known as the Battle of the Bulge. They were the only Canadian unit to take part in this action. After the threat had passed, and the German offensive halted, they once again returned to England to prepare for the next drop. This finally came on March 24, 1945 when the Allies were able to cross the Rhine in a massive combined airborne and river crossing operation, the largest the world has ever seen. Success came quickly on the drop zone and within three days, they embarked on a hectic journey that would take them from the Rhine River all the way to Wismar on the Baltic Sea by May 2nd, where they linked up with Russian forces. This historic meeting signified the end of the war in Europe. The Battalion then had the honour of being the first Canadian unit to return to Canada as a complete group. They landed in Halifax to a tumultuous welcome and were awarded the key to the city.Follow their arduous and often hilarious journey and discover why they joined up, what the parachute training was like, especially their first jump, what it was like jumping into action for the first time in Normandy, the conditions in the Ardennes, crossing the Rhine and the fateful trek to Wismar to end the war. It's all here, in their own words.

Volume III of the Reagan Revolution series recounts the president's successful defeat of the Soviet drive for global hegemony--for strategic weaons superiority, political domination of the Eurasian landmass, and decisive leverage over world oil. In volumes I and II of this study I analyzed the president's decisions to jettison the failed strategy of detente and seek victory in the Cold War. In broadening the nation's economic base to sustain a more powerful military capability, he confronted the Soviet military challenge. Simultaneously, he worked to rebuild the Western Alliance, which had disintegrated during the detente years. In this volume I show how Reagan foiled the Soviet drive for strategic weapons superiority with a complex, high technology weapons buildup and a surprise shift to strategic defense, inaugurating a fundmental change in the national security equation. He neutralized the Soviet attempt to dominate the Eurasian landmass with the SS-20 missile by deploying the Pershing II/cruise missile package to Western Europe. And he blocked the Soviet drive to shift Iran into its orbit thereby preserving the secure flow of oil to the west and opening the door to an improvement of reltions with Iran.Recognizing that the Soviet Union was overextended, fueling revolutionary movements on four continents and deeply mired in Afghanistan, the president raised the costs of competition for the Soviet economy already laboring under the heavy burden large-scale military expenditures. He worked for reduced energy prices, reducing Soviet hard-currency earnings, while at the same time blocking the transfer of high technology upon which the Soviet Union depended to remain competitive with the United States. By the middle of 1984 the Soviet leadership concluded that its strategy had failed and would have to be changed.

"I Remember" - a commonly used phrase followed by memories of the author, her parents and grandparents relating to life in the mining communities of the North East of England. The author writes:I feel very fortunate that I had the privilege of growing up in a close family, and as a result have many memories and photographs, both my own and those of my parents and grandparents.I am not an author/storyteller in the accepted sense of the word; I never got higher than a C for my English compositions. I have simply put pen to paper and written down both my memories and memories entrusted to me.This book is in essence a rambling dialogue as the author might have related it to her grandchildren. It relates the highs and lows in the lives of three generations of one family. The occupations of the menfolk varied and included - Blacksmith, Police Constable in 1870s to 1880s, Coal miners, Joiners, Mechanics, one even served in R.F.C. in Egypt (1st WW).The women of the family were all in service before they were married, all that is except the author who trained as a Teacher.Without specific comparisons the social changes are obvious, very evident are those in life style, clothing & schooling.Particularly interesting are the references to - home remedies, superstitions/traditions, entertainments before the advent of TV and links with the Co-op Society. The text is abundantly illustrated with over 250 photos/documents dating from as early as 1875 up to 1962.Photos include lots of people & places known to the family, and school photos from 1880s to 1960s.Although the family came from a wider area, the author grew up in NW Durham.
