The new titles appearing in the monthly lists are scattered through many journals, but a new journal devoted exclusively to rhythm research published its first issue in May, 1970-the Journal of Interdisciplinary Cycle Research-and another, Chronobiology, appears in 1973.

The Russian edition of this book appeared in 1969 and im mediately gained widespread recognition as a reference work for research workers interested in the physiology, biophysics, and pharmacology of excitable tissues.

This volume represents an interdisciplinary approach to an understanding of the chemistry, physiology, and medical significance of the vitamin riboflavin. Information has been reviewed on the physiological role of the vitamin, the metabolic effects of riboflavin deficiency in animals and man, and the regulation of riboflavin metabolism.

This fine symposium volume occasioned many interesting responses, including a suggestion to prepare a more complete treatise on the grounds that such "proceedings" volumes, by their very nature, do not satisfactorily offer a complete and coherent description of the field, but cater chiefly to specialists.

The original aim of the present work, which was initiated by Dr. Michael Balint, was to explore Brief Psychotherapy carried out by psycho-analysts who are relatively skilled and experienced. The present work is based essentially on the therapies of nineteen patients, treated by a team of therapists under the leader ship of Dr. Balint.

Biochemical ecology is here presented only in the context of water pollution. This was done on the assumption that some information on chemical details may not be readily available but is desirable for an "in depth" appreciation of the biochemical events encountered in water pollu tion.
