This book comes from genuine research from various universities in Asia, such as in South East Asia and India. Since COVID-19 pandemic is spreading all over the world, most schools and institutions of higher learning have opted online-based learning for their teaching and learning (T&L) activities. Previously, the common practices in T&L are face to face (F2F). Therefore, online T&L is a new normal not just for the students but also for the instructors as well as the parents. In this book, different online teaching methods via technology-supported teaching have been implemented, and at the end of the lesson, based on the feedback from students on these online technology-supported teaching tools, most educators found that there are positive responses from majority of students, in terms of their learning, attitudes, thinking and decision-making process, apart from the challenges faced by the students in the beginning, with regards to the new approaches and methodology used by their teachers during online teaching. This book presents the latest trends and developments in multimodal optimization and niching techniques. Most existing optimization methods are designed for locating a single global solution. However, in real-world settings, many problems are "e;multimodal"e; by nature, i.e., multiple satisfactory solutions exist. It may be desirable to locate several such solutions before deciding which one to use. Multimodal optimization has been the subject of intense study in the field of population-based meta-heuristic algorithms, e.g., evolutionary algorithms (EAs), for the past few decades. These multimodal optimization techniques are commonly referred to as "e;niching"e; methods, because of the nature-inspired "e;niching"e; effect that is induced to the solution population targeting at multiple optima. Many niching methods have been developed in the EA community. Some classic examples include crowding, fitness sharing, clearing, derating, restricted tournament selection, speciation, etc. Nevertheless, applying these niching methods to real-world multimodal problems often encounters significant challenges.To facilitate the advance of niching methods in facing these challenges, this edited book highlights the latest developments in niching methods. This book offers a comparative perspective on 18 countries' legal regulation of crowdfunding. In the wake of the financial crises of 2008, use of this alternative financing method has increased substantially, in various forms. Whereas some states have adopted tailor-made regimes in order to regulate but also encourage this way of financing projects, allowing loans to be made by non-banking institutions, others still haven't specifically addressed the subject. An analysis of these diverse legislative stances offers readers a range of legal solutions for managing crowdfunding activities with regard to e.g. protecting investors, imposing limits on project owners, and finally the role and duties of intermediaries, i.e., companies operating crowdfunding platforms. In addition, the content presented here provides a legal basis for states and supranational organizations interested in regulating this phenomenon to achieve more legal certainty.
