Based on the example of the Polish delegation to the European Parliament, the book examines the factors influencing the cohesion and stability of EP national delegations. It takes into account the impact of institutional arrangements such as the electoral law and the candidate selection process, the ideological and programmatic profiles of political parties, the career paths of MEPs, affiliation to political groups in the EP, group switching, as well as the significance of Euroscepticism and national divisions transferred to the European level. It is not a typical case study, as the regularities discovered through the in-depth analysis of the Polish national delegation are compared with those characteristic of other national delegations in the EP. The book fills a gap in studies devoted to the EP, in which the importance of national delegations has not so far been the subject of thorough analyses.

This book explores poetry by Sherko Bekas, a Kurdish writer and Swedish Tucholsky award winner, providing contextualising biography (with original new information from an interview with his son) and critical stylistic analyses of two selected poems. The authors also include a section on the Kurdish language and translation of the poems into English. There are very few English translations of some of Bekas' poems and no book so far on the stylistic or even linguistic analysis of his work, with the result that Bekas is not widely known in the "Western" world. This monograph presents necessary and sufficient conditions for completeness of the linear span of eigenvectors and generalized eigenvectors of operators that admit a characteristic matrix function in a Banach space setting. Classical conditions for completeness based on the theory of entire functions are further developed for this specific class of operators. The classes of bounded operators that are investigated include trace class and Hilbert-Schmidt operators, finite rank perturbations of Volterra operators, infinite Leslie operators, discrete semi-separable operators, integral operators with semi-separable kernels, and period maps corresponding to delay differential equations. The classes of unbounded operators that are investigated appear in a natural way in the study of infinite dimensional dynamical systems such as mixed type functional differential equations, age-dependent population dynamics, and in the analysis of the Markov semigroup connected to the recently introduced zig-zag process.

On the premise of analyzing and studying the stratigraphic sedimentary environment in the mining area in detail, it is of great significance for the realization of "coal water" dual resource mining in the mining area to divide the types of roof water disaster in the mining area and study the formation mechanism of mine water disaster caused by different rock formation combinations and mining methods.
