A long overdue reprint of the rare classic book from 1945 by Paul Miller. The author scoured many books and papers of eminent scientists who investigated psychic phenomena and mediums in the early days of Spiritualism (from Russel Wallace to Sir Wm Crookes and Dr Crawford with the Goligher Circle). The book contains not only detailed descriptions of the experiments of 10 of those men, but also their own words justifying their conclusions of the phenomena they had witnessed with various mediums under tight experimental control. Miller's aim in collecting this evidence is to stimulate curiosity, and to advance interest until people find for themselves whether this thing be true or false for them, just as it has been proved to myriads of others on this planet. Often vilified for their work in this area it is important that their work is remembered and gives us stepping stones in the future.
More than a description of rare phenomena by a physical medium, this book also covers detailed explanations by the Spirit Guide of how the phenomena are produced by them, the forces/techniques employed; and lastly a discussion of Birth, Death and Survival of the Human spirit-the motivating purpose of their contact-spiritualisation of mankind.Physical mediumship and spirit control such as that of Arnold Clare is very rare. To those who ask, "What is the purpose of a levitation or a materialization?" here is the answer. Authenticated records of phenomena, through mediums past and present, have been added to back up the explanations, together with photographs from the mediumship of Jack Webber who had died the year before the author started working with Arnold Clare, and who materialised, in light, several times through Clare's amazing mediumship.
A new paperback edition of a classic book by Harry Edwards, the renowned healer, on the phenomenal physical mediumship of the ex-miner Jack Webber, first printed in 1940. This account covers the 14 months before Webber's untimely death in March 1940 before the book came to print. Newspaper journalists from daily papers were invited to sit and they published detailed and "laudatory" articles and all "testified to their amazement" at what they witnessed. This included table levitation, cone shaped "trumpets" flying rapidly through the air and voices speaking to them through them. Some saw faces they recognised in the ectoplasm which came from the medium. The outstanding photographs, many taken in the darkness via Infra-red by professional photographer Leon Isaacs, provide us with an unparalleled record of what the spirit world can achieve with dedication.
A second amazing collection of more than 190 of interesting and intriguing cases in the history of psychical research and mediumship over the last 160 years. This is another easy reference book by this author on the subject of communication with the Spirit World, whether through mediums speaking while entranced, spirit healing, paintings precipitated on to canvases, photography with long-dead family appearing on the negatives, table tipping or other forms of phenomena. The author has categorized each type into what amounts to something of an encyclopaedia on the subject. This book is an excellent resource for further investigation. Complete with bibliography and index this is another 'must have' for anyone interested in, or just curious about, the subject.
Animals in the Spirit World is a validation of animal soul survival. The author's respect and love of animals is felt throughout, as he recounts from first-hand experience moving tales of reunions between animal spirits and their human friends. A lovely book, a treasure of sensitivity and understanding of life's ways, written in uncomplicated language. Although most religions reject the idea of animal consciousness surviving death, the evidence given here, through the credible mediumship of Harold Sharp and others, indicates strongly that it does survive and that those animals which have bonded with humans are often present in the afterlife to greet us and continue their friendships. First published in 1966, this slim book is long overdue for re-release.
A biographical and autobiographical account of Isa A. Northage's life and Spiritual work including accounts of amazing Psychic Surgery and Healing by materialised spirits and other materialisation séances. With photographs of some of the many apports they received. New foreword by medium's daughter who was present at seances.
