I should have studied more in English class!" Jerry retired as Director of Operations, for the Army Corps, responsible for all Corps' water infrastructure in the US, directing a workforce of 24,000.

This is the story of my life. I wrote this in hope that at least one person would read it who feels like they are hopeless, that God doesn't love them because of what they have done and/or are doing, and in hope that they would relate enough with my story to realize Christ is there with hope and salvation for them. I started out just as normal as anyone else, but things were changing and not always for the better. I suffered physical abuse and retreated into alcohol and drugs and music. Having long term friends did not happen until my teen years and some were just a bad influence. I played music in school bands playing brass instruments such as trumpet, baritone horn, french horn, trombone and even tuba. After school I learned guitar and coupled with my addictions led to playing in heavy metal and punk rock bands. The feeling of having something missing in life was a continual occurrence for me. I landed myself in jail many times and eventually found sobriety. But this didn't solve what was missing. Then came the day when I came to the realization that God is real, still I felt something missing. Years went by then came the day when God decided it was time and guided me to North Valley Baptist Church. I was reborn, redeemed, saved, and baptized the first day there. This is what finally solved my personal mystery of what was missing, which was salvation by grace through faith. Lord Jesus gave me love and a new life. Even a bout with cancer tested my faith but God had a plan. Through the Lord's mercy He gave me Grace Through It All. May all the glory be to God.

Becky Anhalt lives in Central Florida with her husband, Henry. She has three sons, Jeremiah, Jacob and Joseph, two daughters-in-law Mary and Emily, and four beautiful grandchildren. Becky has served in children's ministry for over thirty years. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Education from Warner University and has taught at a Christian School. This a biography of my sister, Connie's life. It will depict her life from childhood through adulthood and the many situations she endured, as a child in her immediate family, the father who denied her, and the love she believed she did not receive from her parents, because of her darker complexion. In addition, it is also my belief that Connie's pain went on for years well into her adult life and nobody knew it, due to the ongoing turbulence that was happening in her life; such as the abuse, mentally and physically by her exhusband, her son's constant problems with the law and drugs, her possibly loosing her daughter, and the lover that attempted to kill her and the things he did to her child. Finally, I believe that it was "Connie's Broken Heart" that led to her early demise. Barbara Spruill (Thornton) was born in Montezuma, Ga., raised and educated in Newark, NJ, and now resides in East Earl Pa., with her husband and family. As a retired postmaster and educator Barbara loves traveling, dancing, reading, family gatherings, real life stories (tear-jerking flicks), and spending time with her great-great granddaughter. Alicia J. Gary lives in Seminole, Fla. with her husband, Robert and their two children, Armanee and Justin. Alicia has been employed for over twenty years in the US Postal Service. Alicia is quiet and reserved, but the most fulfilling part of life is spending time with her family relaxing at home; and/or spending time with her daughter traveling to National Cheerleading events.
