TITTIPUSSIDAD documents English artist Sarah Lucas' (born 1962) journey through Mexico. From a visit to a brick factory in Oaxaca to the creation of her bulbous and sexually suggestive sculptures, the odyssey culminates in a final exhibition at the Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli.
Richard Prince: Everyday is published on the occasion of the artist's seventh solo exhibition at Sadie Coles HQ, London, in spring 2023.The catalogue documents Prince's recent body of work that expand his iconic Joke Paintings series (first conceived in the early 1980s). In these works, Prince replicates the jokes of the renowned American stand-up comedian Rodney Dangerfield (1921-2004) - best known for disarming one-liners that captured an everyman humour in the banal or a self-deprecating loss of face - layered over palimpsest of the comic's 'psychotropic scrawl' of stage notes made in his later years. The richly illustrated publication features both artwork and detailed colour plates, accompanied by quotes contributed by Jim Carrey, and Dave Hickey in conversation with Sheila Heti.
This is the first monograph on the work of Michele Abeles (b. 1977), an artist based in New York who works primarily with photographic imagery. Through numerous colour images and exhibition views, the book traces Abele's prolific and diverse output over the last seven years. An extensive interview with the art critic Isabelle Graw offers new and extended insights into the artist's thinking and methodology. Abeles's works pursue a range of conceptual and compositional questions - from the idea of spatial depth in photography and painting, to the status of the female body as a 'readymade' armature, to the relationship between different methods of compressing and conveying information (visual and non-visual, digital and analogue). Please note: The book cover image is all white, with raised design.
