Dr. Hoban has arranged a scatter of apparently separate essays, short stories, poems and sayings in a book meant to do something as well as say something. Together they constitute and reflect a coherent whole. Amusing and intellectually provocative, these stories are intended to benefit readers in their daily lives by providing hidden frameworks for future understanding of the people and circumstances in their lives. Not a self-help book, Holoscripts is aimed at readers' ongoing development; its requirement is that readers themselves put something into it.

A Golf Book For The Rest Of Us After fifteen years of teaching golf, it became apparent to Mark that many beginners are inhibited in their learning process by a lack of basic knowledge-and that many golf teachers don't recognize this. This book is designed to help the beginner and interested non-golfer leap past the awkward stage that each novice experiences. Like French, English, or Japanese, the language of golf is unintelligible to someone learning it for the first time as an adult. Golf 101 is the definitive guidebook to the language and concept of golf. It fills in the gaps for golfers and non-golfers alike. I've looked for something like this for a long time. -Scott Krause, PGA Professional San Jose, California Mark's teaching is both revolutionary and simple. He has had a tremendous impact on my game. For any player who wants to become good, I highly recommend his concepts. -Martin Taueber San Francisco, California This book is the "creme de la creme" of books for beginners and a must read! -Ron Cerrudo, PGA Tour Winner & Teaching Professional Hilton Head, South Carolina About the author: Mark Rivard was a PGA Class A member for thirty years, but gave up his membership in 2006 to join his wife in the insurance industry. Most of this book was written while he was teaching college in Raleigh, North Carolina. He taught over 40,000 lessons and has played golf competitively as an amateur and professional since he was a young teen. He spent countless hours hitting golf balls, studying the swing, and determining the best way to explain what it takes to properly strike a golf ball. During this learning period, over nearly half his lifetime, he has taught himself and many others to manage their golf ball around the golf course in par or better. He invented The Putting Template and The Aim Checker. Mark is still a very interested amateur and plays off a 3¿handicap.

An awakening giant is rising, after 500 years of identity slumber! Anousim Awake! is the personal account of the revealed family Jewish identity of Gracia Serrano Fenn, a hidden Jewess who found out a "family secret" in 1999 in Israel. It is the Serrano family story of being raised with "no family past", with no known true identity. These lost Sephardim (Spanish Crypto-Jews) were thought to have disappeared, after their forced expulsion in the 1492 Spanish Inquisition. The full effect in the Iberian Peninsula (later Portugal) sent them scattering to the New World and elsewhere. The prophet Obadiah, (Ovadia) expressed this Torah vision of return to Israel by their descendants, many centuries ago (Obadiah 10,21). His words in the Tanach (Jewish scriptures) continue to shed light to the very outskirts of the Diaspora to this select group of Hispanic-Jewish connection, now arising to their true identity and return... "Somos Judios - We are Jews". "This is a beautiful journey of return to Jewish roots. Unlocking the secrets of the past profoundly impact the present in ways both painful and joyful. It leads into the future with new possibilities and connections. Gracia Serrano's story is one of discovery and sheds light on history and faith. I know her story will have a profound impact on many people: fellow B'nai Anusim, the Jewish community, and those who enjoy stories of discovery and faith. As a rabbi in the Jewish community, I thank Gracia for her story and the strength it gives to the Jewish community." -Rabbi Ezray, Beth Jacob, Redwood City, CA. About the author:Gracia Serrano Fenn lives in California and is President of Sephardim Hope International.
Short Stories by Mary Kennedy EasthamThere are no perfect people here. The characters in Squinting over Water are you and me trying to make sense of things - good and bad - coming up with a Plan B when life gets messy. One early reader said she would walk across continents to get to this book. These whimsical stories transformed her, made her believe once again in the true beauty and playfulness of life. "She doesn't sugarcoat things. This is one talented writer." -Kurt Vonnegut, Author "Cat's Cradle", "Slaughterhouse-Five" and "Breakfast of Champions" "You can't stop thinking about Eastham's characters like 16 year old Rebecca Louise in After The Dance. Raised by her single mother, she longs to get to know John Monroe, her father, the man who wasn't ready for parenthood when she was born but who now wants to meet her. And then there's poor Harry in Cat's Eyes, sipping cheap champagne, watching his mother patch together the few strands of hair on Husband Number Five's head with those long, lean fingers of his childhood. Johanna Dane is losing the daylight in Delicato as she searches for her twin brother Mica, missing after a devastating flood in their small, sweet town of Dane's Crossing. There are mood-tints bursting forth here, a poignant sense of time's passage that Hollywood Indie sadcore crooner Lana Del Ray would magically rework into a dreamy song. These two creatives need to meet." -The San Francisco WE'RE NOT SKINNY BITCHES Book Club About the Author: Mary Kennedy Eastham, M.A., MFA has had the good fortune of growing up in a small New England town. She spread her wings and moved to New York City, San Francisco and Malibu which is where many of these stories took shape. Mary has been awarded over $25,000 in Literary Awards.
You are not Codependent simply because your adult child is an addict or alcoholic. All parents of addicted children of any age are terrified, confused, feel out of control, lose sleep, dread the phone calls at3:00 in the morning. This book is for parents who are Afraid to Let Go because they do not know how to set boundaries with their adult children without feeling crippling anxiety, or walling themselves off to make separation possible. You can’t “let go.” You can’t “detach with love.” You can’t let them “hit bottom.” You can’t seem to implement the strategies you have learned when you are faced with your adult child’s chaos and anxiety. When you try to do this, it makes you physically and emotionally ill, and the anxiety and fear becomes unbearable. Why can’t you just “let go”? If you are struggling with Codependency, your relationship with your child is not be the only relationship where you experience a loss of self, over-reactivity, adrenalin rushes when you feel “out of control,” or behave intrusively or impulsively to “help” in situations even when your assistance has not been requested. If you are Codependent, this is not the first relationship in which you have “over-given” and then felt resentful, or sacrificed yourself to give someone what you decided they “needed” because if you don’t, “who will”?Afraid to Let Go explores the developmental origins of Codependency that lead to painful behavioral reactivity in response to our addicted adult children. Afraid to Let Go then connects the chronic stress of the chaos of addiction with adrenal system damage, and points you toward concrete behavioral changes you can make to heal regardless of the sobriety of your adult child. Awakening Hope (Updated Edition - 2018)Since the release of the 2011 edition Mary has delved deeper into the neurological and structural brain changes that result from early trauma and interrupted attachment. While the previous edition identified the impact on the immune system that can make Codependency so deadly, Mary felt it was important to draw from the Kaiser ACE (Adverse Child Experiences) Study to clearly demonstrate the connection between interrupted early attachment and adult immune system damage. As a result the 2018 edition of Awakening Hope fills in important areas in the third area of Codependency, the biological area. This updated edition also adds a new attachment quiz, Dr. Wilson's Adrenal Fatigue Questionnaire, Responses to Stressful Experiences Scale, and expands biological chapters to discuss Normal Stress and Immune Responses, Allostasis and the Upside of Adversity, Neurological Biology of Attachment and Love, and the Impact of Interrupted Attachment on Neurology. In addition, Mary has included additional emotional regulation interventions.Awakening Hope speaks to the need for an evolving treatment approach to a serious disorder that has previously been primarily addressed from a behavioral perspective. Awakening Hope is based on the premise that Codependency stems from early attachment disruptions, leading to ongoing anxious and avoidant attachment styles. These styles create a series of defensive behaviors in response to a foundational distrust of attachment that pervades every relationship. The frequent perceptions of attachment threat can lead to serious depletion of the adrenal system, and results in systemic and chronic illness. You will discover: Explanations for lifelong patterns of anxiety in relationships that are grounded in research and clinical experience. Long established behavior patterns in relationships will "make sense" and you will have access to a clear path for change. The physical consequences of these long term patterns, and clearly see the connections between your anxious or avoidant codependent behaviors and physical illnesses that compromise your quality of life. A clear structure for treatment planning and relapse prevention planning is provided for personal use and clinical use by therapist treating codependent clients. The Author:Mary Crocker Cook, D.Min., LMFT, LPCC, LAADC, CADCII is a licensed Marriage and Family Counselor and a certified addiction counselor in San Jose, California. "It's not about me or you. It is about the phenomenon called 'us', transforming parts into whole. Science, philosophy, and spirituality meet in 'Seduction of the Mind'.This book is about spiritual awakening and unlocking the secret of creation that exists within the sacred spaces of our being. Written in visionary fiction style in which the protagonist's, Radha, quest to know her identity in the cosmic set up of things, she sets off a chain of events which would lead her to the deepest corners and, eventually, put her at the edge of mind. Thus begins a mystical journey too adventurous to even think, as the answers began to come in the most inexplicable way, defying logic yet standing as facts."It is a fascinating and intriguing book. The teachings of Vedanta are beautiful, but they are also difficult to understand. With dynamic analogies, Nita has taken ancient principles and put them into easy to understand language. She has shown that the knowledge of Vedanta is not just for the mature readers; it is for everyone. A commendable effort." -(Ratan) Guruji. I recommend it." -Amit Goswami.
