"Someday, people will end their emails with: 'Hamachek was right!'"Joan Matthews, co-author of "The Self-Help Guide for Special Kids and Their Parents"]This is a book of ideas. Here's one: What if we could flip two words in the English language and have people stop saying "it is" and instead ask "is it?"Most Americans today feel as though our current state of divisiveness is not sustainable. They agree that something has to be done. The author agrees and suggests that the road to redemption for America requires a fresh look at: HistorySocial structuresPersonal communicationEthicsMostly Americans need to take a fresh look at ourselves. To do that we need to apply critical thinking, add some skepticism, and be willing to replace answers with questions.Compiled from a decade of writings and contemplation, and further aided by a forty-year career in the world of business dealing with hundreds of companies, this book represents a synthesis between the theoretical and the empirical. Each chapter stands entirely on its own, but each stands stronger when joined with the others. The author's goal is simply to have the reader challenge their preconceived notions. This book is for you if you feel confident enough to challenge everything you might think about the American political dynamic, how honestly and effectively you communicate with others, and how you process what you find in the news or on social media. Do you have what it takes to become a political dissident? Find out. Finally, and most difficult of all, are you up to taking a look into the mirror and asking yourself: Am I ethical?Get ready to have your toy box dumped all over the floor. Prepare to check all your premises. Be willing to think!
In the much-anticipated follow-up to her critically-acclaimed, Word Up: Little Languaging Hacks for Big Change, Dani Katz focuses her Quantum Languaging word wizardry on societal overhaul. Equal parts cultural critique and (r)evolutionary handbook, The Language of Betterarchy offers tangible tools to unify the populace, and evolve our culture for the "better" with our every word. After dismantling the myth of patriarchy as prime cultural perpetrator, Katz pinpoints hierarchy as the nexus of distortion doing the collective body bad. She goes on to offer simple, yet profound communication upgrades that empower, uplift, equalize and inspire, while evolving our culture into a "betterarchical" structure that serves the greatest good of all. A sweet, sassy and subversive read, The Language of Betterarchy challenges the erroneous fictions propping up victim culture and identity politics, as well as the gender divide and the so-called "return of the divine feminine." A must-read for the visionary change-makers who came here to transform the world for the infinitely more wonderful.

Human societies are complex adaptive systems, the nature of which has important ramifications for the way in which countries organize themselves politically and arrange themselves economically. In Doomed To Fail Paul Shotton explains why liberal democracy is the least-bad political framework, and why every other political system will inevitably lead to war. Likewise, capitalism, which emerged naturally from the industrial revolution, is the least bad way for a polity to organize economically.Every attempt to improve upon or replace capitalism, however well intentioned, has led to economic disaster. That democracy and capitalism are symbiotic and aligned with the best interests of humanity stems from an underlying mechanism they share with the development of life on earth itself.Shotton then zooms-in on central banks to discuss the role they played in causing the Global Financial Crisis and, by virtue of their response to it, made the fallout much worse. As a result of their incompetence and arrogance, our political and economic elite risk the destruction of democracy and capitalism, which have been the source of all human progress since the dawn of humanity. He calls for renewed invigoration of the principles upon which America was founded if disaster for humanity is to be averted.
Are you resilient? Joyfully? I feel that some of the studies ignore the uniqueness of human experience and often define a person as "not being resilient" when they are actually going through a transformative and resilience building experience. As a coach and hypnotherapist, I see people when they are feeling broken and defeated; seeing themselves as vulnerable and lacking resources. When I hear their stories though, I see they have usually had a long history of surviving and overcoming adversity and have many resilience traits and experiences to draw upon. They just need a little tweak in perception and mindset, and sometimes a few tools to set them back on track. They have not stopped being resilient or lost anything, and they are not broken or even at a breaking point; they are just at a transition point in their resilience journey. (#tears)A person does not have to have all of the traits that contribute to resilience to be resilient; but having more of the traits and developing them more fully does make you more resilient. The traits that seem to be overarching and particularly essential for resilience are the seven traits below. I like to call them the resilience superpowers. If you have these seven traits, you are likely getting through most of what life may throw your way. Self-Awareness / Perception Adaptability - Able to bend & grow Staying Calm & managing stress Empathy Self-Control or Locus of Control Optimism Motivation, Drive or PerseveranceKate Olson, CHT is an NLP & Reiki Practitioner, Life Coach, & Hypnotherapist, as well as an Author, Speaker & Radio/Podcast Host. But somebody handed her a very special elixir that changed her life for good. Lindsey has lifted herself out of enough pain and tragedy to fill 100 lifetimes.
