Das schwierige Erbe der Diktaturvergangenheit in Lateinamerika wirft einen langen Schatten bis in die Gegenwart. Mit wachsender historischer Distanz treten die Ähnlichkeiten und Unterschiede des kulturellen Umgangs mit den jeweiligen Ausformungen staatlicher Gewaltherrschaft und Repression in den verschiedenen Ländern deutlicher zum Vorschein. In diesem Sammelband steht die Mehrdimensionalität der Diktaturerfahrungen insbesondere der Folgegenerationen im Zentrum. Durch global-historische Zusammenhänge ist ein gemeinsamer Hintergrund entstanden, vor dem sich die unterschiedlichen nationalen Kontexte abheben, durch welche die kulturellen Aufarbeitungsprozesse und die individuellen und kollektiven Möglichkeiten der sozialen Konstruktionen von Erinnerung bedingt werden. Die verschiedenen Beiträge des Bandes nähern sich dem Thema der multiplen Erinnerungsräume an die Diktaturvergangenheit wie Paralleluniversen an, die sich durch das Einwirken vergleichbarer Ereignisse als untereinander permeabel erweisen und dennoch durch unterschiedliche spezifische Temporalitäten und Räumlichkeiten gekennzeichnet bleiben. In Anbetracht der Pluralität der Erinnerungsräume und der Relativität ihrer jeweiligen Raum- und Zeitbezüge lassen die Beiträge erkennen, wie in postdiktatorialen Zusammenhängen ästhetische Verfahren zwischen den Texten zirkulieren und je nach Kontext mit verschiedenen Funktionen und Bedeutungen aufgeladen werden.

In diesem Arbeitsbuch werden die Wege der 1959 in Westfalen geborenen und heute v.a. in Berlin lebenden Judith Kuckart zurückverfolgt ¿ und zwar in den Gattungen Prosa, Theater, Hör-Feature und Film sowie im Bereich Tanz: In all diesen Gattungen hat die Künstlerin seit den 1980er Jahren ein umfassendes OEuvre entwickelt. Im vorliegenden Band werden erstmals alle ihre Schaffensbereiche thematisiert und in ihren Zusammenhängen betrachtet. Dies geschieht mittels wissenschaftlicher Essays, künstlerischer und persönlicher Kurzbeiträge sowie ausführlicher Gespräche mit Judith Kuckart. Ihr künstlerisches Leben und Werk wird auf diese Weise in seinen vielfältigen Aspekten erfasst und der wissenschaftlichen und kulturellen Öffentlichkeit präsentiert.

The book examines the modalities of witnessing in the works of Charles Reznikoff, a Jewish American poet commonly associated with the so-called Objectivist group. It demontrates how the poet alters the contents of archival material to create his own, 'unoriginal' verse called 'recitative.'
