Oftmals schadeten der monarchischen Basislegitimation nicht die Normverletzungen selbst, sondern ihre mangelhafte Kommunikation nach außen und ihre Sanktionierung durch hierarchisch höher gestellte Monarchen: die «Menschlichkeit» der Krone, die die Bevölkerung unterstellend einforderte, zeigte sich nicht nur in der Erfüllung des bürgerlichen Liebesideals durch abtrünnige Hochadlige, sondern ebenso in den oftmals persönlich motivierten Sanktionen ihrer Standesgenossen.
