If you are an educator working with 4th and 5th graders who would like to increase your students' well-being and create a more positive and inclusive school environment, Peace of Mind is for you. This curriculum works as an introduction for students new to this work and a continuation for students who have already had the Peace of Mind Core Curriculum for Grades 3 to 5.The Peace of Mind Curriculum for Grades 4 and 5 is a mindfulness-based social and emotional learning program that teaches effective conflict resolution. Students develop their personal mindfulness practices and learn relevant, age-appropriate brain science to help self-regulate, focus attention, practice kindness, and solve conflicts peacefully. Peace of Mind fits easily into the school week with modest preparation. Ample teacher guidance is offered throughout.Peace of Mind reflects over a decade of in-classroom development and is research-based. Lessons are scripted, detailed, easy-to-follow, and fun, and are designed to meet the needs of novice to veteran teachers.The Peace of Mind Curriculum for Grades 4 and 5 includes 32 sequential lessons, hand-outs, posters, original skits, and teacher resources. The Peace of Mind Core Curriculum for Middle School is a series of 32 sequential weekly lessons to help students notice and manage their emotions, understand their brains, develop habits of kindness and gratitude, solve conflicts peacefully, and apply their skills to addressing social justice issues, including identity, discrimination, racism and standing up to injustice. This curriculum may be taught by classroom teachers, advisors, counselors or other educators in a classroom or small group setting.
