Two years before the Battle of Hastings, Earl Harold of Wessex and Wiliam of Normandy met - but not in battle. Harold was shipwrecked on the Norman coast, and spent the summer with William. Before he sailed home, he swore an oath, that, when King Edward the Confessor - God forbid - should die, he, Harold, would not try to stop William gaining the English throne. At least, that`s what the Bayeux Tapestry would have us believe. But it is well known that the Tapestry was pure Norman propaganda. So what really happened, before the Norman spin doctors got to work on it?

In a League Their Own! is the true story of the Dick, Kerr Ladies FC. Formed at a munitions factory in Preston, their unique history lay buried for far too long as they became footballs best kept secret. They set the football world alight during the First World War and went on to become the best in the world. On Boxing Day 1920, 53,000 spectators packed Goodison Park, Everton to watch them play, and by 1921 their popularity was at its height. However, the FA saw things in a very different light and changed the course of the women's game forever. On 5 December 1921, they banned women from playing on League grounds, and the ban remained in force for almost fifty years. Against all the odds, the Dick, Kerr Ladies continued playing until 1965 and raised in excess of £10 million for charity. This 2021 edition reveals yet more amazing stories of these incredible women, and documents an accurate playing history from 1917-1965.My grandmother Alice Kell, never really spoke about her time playing football, other than to blame her severe arthritis on it. I always knew she had been captain of a women's football team in her youth, but never realised just what an enormous contribution she had made to the history of the Dick, Kerr Ladies. It wasn't until I returned to Preston and read Gail's book that I learned just what an amazing group of women they were. I am immensely proud of my grandmother and everything she achieved. Val ConnMy family and I are delighted that my cousin, Lily Parr, has been acknowledged and portrayed with such accuracy in this book. Thanks to the dedicated and thorough research undertaken by Gail, we feel that people can now get to know the real Lily who was always a very special part of our lives. June Patten I have thoroughly enjoyed reading Gail Newsham's book about the Dick, Kerr Ladies. The late Florrie Redford, was my auntie and how proud she would have been to know that the team would be part of the history of Preston. Mrs J Shaw, Blackpool

The North-South Divide (NSD) is an unusual but interesting route spanning west to east across the central belt of the UK that takes in a contrast of landscapes from the Cambrian Mountains in Wales to the Fens in East Anglia and everything in between.Starting at the well-known university town of Aberystwyth on the west Wales coast, then finishing at the quintessentially British, old-fashioned seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk coast. Some of the many highlights include the wild and remote Welsh mountains, the equally sparse Kerry Ridgeway, the Shropshire Hills including the Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge, the Ironbridge Gorge, Cannock Chase, the National Forest and the UK's largest lowland pine forest at Thetford in the heart of East Anglia. This 360 mile (579km) route with over 20,000 feet (7,000m) of elevation gain will take you through Ceredigion, Powys, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Isabella Lövin's The Oceanic Feeling: On the Need for a New Narrative, is a unique document of a life spent on the front lines of the climate battle, and at the negotiating tables where the future of our planet is decided. The Swedish investigative journalist who became a member of the European Parliament and then served for seven years in government, five of those as Deputy Prime Minister and Climate Minister, takes us on a journey behind the scenes of climate and global ocean policy making. Some may remember the viral picture of her signing the Swedish climate law in 2017. As Donald Trump just had signed a regressive executive order limiting women's sexual and reproductive rights surrounded by only men, she by contrast signed progressive climate legislation surrounded by women.Deeply concerned about the shrinking confidence in democracy Lövin offers a pedagogic and hopeful account of the fact that change can happen, if there is a will and a vision. But she also recognizes the main reason why humanity is not acting on the many global crises: a narrative of egoism and individualism. A truer and much more positive story can be found when we recognize "The Oceanic Feeling"; a deep connection with nature, people and the miraculous web of life on the planet; putting empathy, responsibility and awe at the center of what it is to be human. How, Lövin asks us, can we convert the world to this new, healthier narrative?

A few poems and prose, with some exploring the futility of war.Imaginary talks with characters that have made their mark. Some fantasy, some humour and some horror stories to tickle the spineat Halloween - and let's not forget Christmas. And why not try to explain ghosts! There are also a few whodunits for the budding detective. When engrossed in a book, I find punctuation and style disappear and only the story matters. Everything else seems irrelevant. My mind only absorbs what it thinks is the most importantFor this reason I have written some of the work with a subtle difference in style, to see if it spoils the enjoyment. My bet is - you won't mind.

A compilation of poems about racism in the workplace and in childhood, including winning entries from the second Black in White Poetry CompetitionThis book, like its predecessor, is dedicated to all those who see and value the benefits of equality, diversity and inclusion, and who labour actively in whatever capacity within this field to help open the minds of those who are the reason why these poems have been written... "As I read the poems I was moved, more than I ever expected, and then made angry, disgusted and frustrated that individuals are still being denied fair opportunities, are attacked and made to feel less, to be devalued. I was also inspired and felt the beauty of the poems..."Avril Lee, Chair of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations' Diversity and Inclusion Network"I was so genuinely impressed by the quality of entries. Impressed, too, by the diversity of voice, style, and lived experience. There was an abundance of passion, mainly, I believe, due to the addition of the 'childhood racism' category. The entries... were evocative and profound."Serena Malcolm, judge, Black in White Poetry Competition 2022

It is an unforgettable day, Monday the 6th of January 2014. - I woke up and Almighty God spoke to me clearly- "I have a message for you for the Prime Minister." Did I hear correctly? I asked myself. "Lord is it you?" I asked. "Yes, it's Me, write the message down."The message started literally downloading.Almighty God started revealing that:The Same Sex Marriage Act of 2013 was a mistake, it crossed the line from heaven, and opens the nation to judgement from Almighty God.God loves gay people as He does everybody else and we all have a duty of love to them, to be kind and to allow equal opportunity and crucially to tell them the truth. The truth of Almighty God is eternal, it does not change with time or fashion. He says: "I am God and I change not."There is deception of the enemy satan behind gay feeling, they do not originate from God. There is a way out which Almighty God has made for gay and all mankind through the sacrifice made by His Son Jesus Christ when He suffered, died on the cross and rose again from the dead on the third day. As you turn to Him, you will find that God is not angry with you, He is not even in a bad mood. To access forgiveness of Jesus Christ, you need to repent, that is change your mind, call on the name of Jesus Christ and align your thinking with God, knowing that Jesus Christ defeated and disarmed satan and gives every believer authority and victory over the wicked one satan. This book explains, with extraordinary clarity, issues that have daunted many government leaders, many Christian leaders, many gay people and many ordinary people. While this book contains the message for the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, this message is also meant for Government leaders across the nations of Planet Earth, Christian leaders, gay people everywhere as well as ordinary people across the nations of Planet Earth.

'EZDRAS INSIGHTS' contains the Apocryphal books of 1st Esdras and 2nd Esdras which were in the KJV of the Bible until 1885. Why were they taken out? Read on and find out why?1ST ESDRAS IS A HISTORICAL BOOK WHICH SHOWS THAT THE VISIONS AND PROPHECIES GIVEN TO EZRA IN 2ND ESDRAS WERE ALL FULFILLED, AS GOD RESCUED ISRAEL FROM HER ENEMIES DURING THE 5TH CENTURY BC.'EZDRAS INSIGHTS' also contains '4000 YEARS FROM CREATION TO CHRIST''ESDRAS INSIGHTS' has many Bible verses as cross-references, as well as 'insightful comments'.The Apocryphal book of 2nd Esdras talks about the Bride of Christ and also the Call of the Bride. As in one of my other books ENOCH INSIGHTS, ESDRAS INSIGHTS mentions that the earth is hollow as stated by the Apocryphal Book of 2nd Esdras in 5 different chapters. It also mentions the coming Messiah and states in prophecy very accurately that He would come in 400 years from the time of Ezra the prophet, who was the one who wrote 2nd Esdras. This prophecy of 400 years until Christ turned out to be exactly correct. Amazingly, this book explains what happened to the 10 Missing tribes of Israel back in circa 730 BC. This Book of 2nd Esdras also talks about Salvation and Zion. It amazingly predicted the rise of the Roman empire 400 years before it happened. It also talks about God the Father and God the Son. It talks about the Son of God and the coming Wrath of God, as well as Babylon the Great, as is also mentioned in Revelation 17-18.There are many appendices to all 3 books which are contained inside this book of 'Esdras Insights'. These appendices are full of very interesting information. This book proves that the earth is very young earth of circa 6000 years old.
